In 2 or 3 years it's the only part of an Amanda video that I hastily skipped right through. I am no fan of Frogan. I'll be a leftist until I'm laying in a box, but I'm not her kind of leftist. I really don't care who Amanda is friends with, that's her business, but it's hard for me to see that interaction as a blessing.
Honestly, from my personal experience, it kinda isn't. The first time I went was pretty much purely as a viewer who followed some of the streamers that were there and that was it, and it was a very "meh" experience I felt. Everything seemed to be geared towards becoming a streamer, improving your stream, getting partnered, etc. It wasn't really until I became I bit more involved in a few channels' communities that I really started fully enjoying it. It's definitely more of a creator/community con than a viewer con unless you're dying to meet some of your favorite streamers.
I'm an absolute idiot about computers, so when I bought my PC I just looked for a pre built one. My friend who is into computers has informed me that I picked a nice one.
Prebuilts are a minefield of getting ripped off. Gamers Nexus goes over sooo many prebuilts that are expensive and garbage, even when they ship with decent components. Not poopooing on the idea; just double-check purchases before throwing down thousands! There are good ones out there, but NOT from many of the big name brands.
I’m only about 1/2 way through the video but it is so interesting!! I’ve been thinking about the changes in events and what goes into them as I’ve been attending events. I’m currently in an event marketing class at my college and I have used your videos as examples for topics (thank you) and watching your videos have genuinely helped me think about events in different ways! (Working events/cons as staff helps too) Thank you for sharing this! ❤
Las Vegas Convention Center giving a discount makes a bunch of sense, considering Las Vegas is a Hell Hole for most of the year. Home sweet home, I hope it dries up and shrivels.
I've heard from people into sim racing that you could get a crazy curved screen setup that's super expensive, or you could get a VR headset and have a ton of fun at a fraction of the cost. Neither are CHEAP, but with the new Quest 3S (cheapest VR headset on the market but also best, but ew meta) it's actually doable. Trying to STREAM VR sim racing is a mixed bag, but some people have found ways, plus VR headsets are the major way people have been doing 3D vtubing with VRChat, which you could have some fun with for sure. I would LOVE to see you review some VR conventions like Vket or Furality--that would be HILARIOUS content from you.
A big takeaway from this video for me is to not judge a book before you even see the cover, let alone read it. But being rude and disrespectful is generally just gross anyway in my opinion. If you don't know what someone's boundaries are, don't go up to them and push them over the edge. Some people are "WEIRD".
Okay, gaming computer advice! 1. If you recognise the brand name, they're probably bad. The big system integrators (Dell and their subsidiary Alienware, HP, Lenovo, etc.) are notorious for not only giving you terrible bang for your buck but also building very unbalanced computers - so one component will be very good and another will be quite bad, which creates a bottleneck that makes the whole system perform worse than it should. 2. It's way, way cheaper to buy the parts and put it together yourself, but this is harder than tech people say it is. People who have been building computers for ages forget that if you're not neck-deep in the space you are in danger of doing something like accidentally building a system that shuts down every half-hour because that well-reviewed power supply that the layperson thought would be fine has insufficient wattage for their GPU. If you're on a budget but have a lot of time, though, this is a good cost-saving choice. 3. If you're gonna go with a boutique system integrator make sure they have a decent rep among tech enthusiasts. There has been a lot of trouble with poorly-managed boutique system integrators in the past. A good one would probably suit your circumstances, though, since they can deliver you a custom build that suits your business needs.
@@Rhaifha Oh my god, right?? I feel like the CPU is the most common place for them to skimp, since like six people on planet earth completely understand CPU naming schemes, but I've seen some really stupid GPU choices too.
i caught one of your youtube streams, it was fun. i don't really watch twitch much, my familiarity with streamers is catching clips or uploads to youtube
For the PC stuff, i suggest to have you or a friend pick out the parts yourself and set it up yourself! Sometimes prebuilts are really good but you should have someone who knows PC's to look over it as the parts is sometimes out of date or even by Intel (who's newest parts have bricked company PCs) :)

Hell yeah, that's the bracelet I made :) This was my 2nd TwitchCon, 1st as an affiliate. Your point about knowing your limits and not feeling bad about it is so real. It's always easier to manage my energy (and expectations) the 2nd+ time at a convention/conference. The newer challenge for me is also managing my husband's energy because he's just tagging along and gets dragged into whatever I'm doing lol

I’m interested if Twitch is going to sustain, Amazon bought it and was kinda competing with UA-cam, but seems to have lost interest and it isn’t a money maker for them (the bandwidth would make them more money if they leased it to someone else)

This was my first TwitchCon. I think the best part for me was meeting people I'm always hanging out with virtually. We hung out a lot outside of the con. I did like hitting up the panels. they were insightful. I do agree. the floor felt small. I was hoping to see more booths/vendors but I did geek out a lot on the gear though. I now know to plan ahead when it comes to sitting in panels or going to meet ups. I live in San Diego, so it was convenient. I'm not too sure if I'd go if it wasn't here. It's fun tho. Way smaller than Comic-Con which was a plus.
5:21 So the "surprise guest" is an individual who calls herself "Frogan". She just publicly declared her wish that American veterans she doesn't like "should get PTSD". Just the latest awful statement she's made, though arguably the worst. Amanda's cool. I've been a supporter of her for several years. I don't blame people for the sins of their friends. But I'm the grandson of a WW2 veteran who came back from Europe- where he helped rid the world of fascism- with profound amounts of PTSD, the effects of which echo throughout my family to this day. And so I think people like Frogan, who poison our culture with ignorant, indefensible toxicity, deserve to be called out. She's all smiles in this footage. I don't remember my grandfather smiling all that much.
its really cool that you recorded this video at the con! I'm also wondering if the state of the econmy is heavily effected the down turn of Twitch Con. Especially if we think that Twitch got a discount to come back to San Diago. Anyway thanks for the content, I love hearing your opinion lmao.
I build my PC but buying a prebuilt PC is just as good. Just look up what you want it to do. An ASUS monitor should work for anything you could ever do. I have a RedDragon mouse too, it can be wireless or plugged in which is nice. In my opinion, you dont need to go all out for a keyboard, stick with what you're comfortable with using for long periods of time. Overall, everyone is going to need a different setup, and finding one that works for you requires research or talking to someone experienced enough to understand what you need. Good luck and thanks for the video
If you want a gaming pc I’d really recommend maingear for a prebuilt, I have one myself and it’s a very solid build, great cable management, no bloatware, and they’ll just do nice little things you you like add profiles for rendering and gaming to the fan curves if you mention that’s what you’ll be using the rig for. They also included a usb to reinstall windows and are made using over the counter parts so they’re easy to upgrade if needed. Their support team is also amazing.
Oh apparently there are quite a few gaming PC giveaways, one I think did say TwitchCon. I've entered four of them in the last 24 hours. My laptop just doesn't like some of the games I want to play.
They put the ONLY cosplay showcase on SUNDAY? IN THE LATE AFTERNOON? I've been attending and working cosplay conventions for over ten years. While there are end of weekend cosplay events but it is runway where the judges pick solely on stage presence and it isn't about craftsmanship. They wanted to keep people late on sunday but most people are exhausted as you said.

Man those swag bags sucked. Wish you luck finding a good computer! For keyboards (of which I have binged many videos about) it’s all about preference. Do you want clacky? Ergonomic? Pretty? Linear switches? None of it rreeaally matters if you don’t care that much. These days keyboards are very customizable-make sure it’s hot-swappable and you’re golden.

She just publicly stated that she hopes US veterans "get PTSD". Tried to qualify it by saying that the ones who "disavow imperialism" are apparently okay. According to her. But everyone else? In 2 or 3 years it's the only part of an Amanda video that I hastily skipped right through.
I am no fan of Frogan. I'll be a leftist until I'm laying in a box, but I'm not her kind of leftist. I really don't care who Amanda is friends with, that's her business, but it's hard for me to see that interaction as a blessing.

@@ItsGuffle What the heck indeed.

Twitch con has never seemed like it would be that fun to go to as a someone who is just a watcher to me.
Hey, I was the audio stagehand running the Kappa Cabana all 3 days. AMA!
There are good ones out there, but NOT from many of the big name brands.
care to share from what company?
I’m only about 1/2 way through the video but it is so interesting!! I’ve been thinking about the changes in events and what goes into them as I’ve been attending events.
I’m currently in an event marketing class at my college and I have used your videos as examples for topics (thank you) and watching your videos have genuinely helped me think about events in different ways! (Working events/cons as staff helps too)
Thank you for sharing this! ❤
Honestly building a pc would be a whole other video and dive you could do because there is a whole culture and community around gaming computers
I'd watch it!
I would LOVE to see you review some VR conventions like Vket or Furality--that would be HILARIOUS content from you.
it was sick meeting you!!! omg is that the real swellentertainment ~~~~
All I heard about twitchcon was that two Vtubers got Roofied at an exclusive party hosted by blerg i think.
sounds like a vtuber thing
I went once as a viewer in 2018 but never again, mostly due to the ticket price. Like, Holly shit I'll go to a different con for that price, lol.
A big takeaway from this video for me is to not judge a book before you even see the cover, let alone read it. But being rude and disrespectful is generally just gross anyway in my opinion. If you don't know what someone's boundaries are, don't go up to them and push them over the edge. Some people are "WEIRD".
🎶Swell’s in the coorner🎶
Men not understanding boundaries toward a woman? Boy golly that sure is surprising.
I recently saw a computer advertised with 32 GB RAM, a brand new GPU (4070 iirc?), and like.. a 6 year old i5 CPU? Some pre-built stuff is wiiild.
@@Rhaifha Oh my god, right?? I feel like the CPU is the most common place for them to skimp, since like six people on planet earth completely understand CPU naming schemes, but I've seen some really stupid GPU choices too.
I know its not but the background noise of people walking around sounds like stock audio lol. My brain is probably just broken.
i caught one of your youtube streams, it was fun. i don't really watch twitch much, my familiarity with streamers is catching clips or uploads to youtube
i love hearing people say "okay" in the way you or someordinarygamers will like its always so assuring. thanks u two
For the PC stuff, i suggest to have you or a friend pick out the parts yourself and set it up yourself! Sometimes prebuilts are really good but you should have someone who knows PC's to look over it as the parts is sometimes out of date or even by Intel (who's newest parts have bricked company PCs) :)
long time twitch person, but vegas was my first twitchcon (though I was familiar with the city), and san diego was leagues better. I was definitely bummed about the cosplay showcase being on Sunday. there was no way I was getting dressed up that day. and happy to be validated that I struggled to go out and party, but looking forward to next year!! hopefully i manage to catch you next year. the artist alley was poppin this year and I loved the space they had.
I understand what you mean, it's like you're needing to be apart of twitch con while also trying to get the experience of a person going normally
I saw those swag bags on Tiktok and they looked so sad and crappy lol, still, I wish I could've gone omg
As someone who works at a computer all day, 100% recommend a larger curved monitor if you’re gaming. It does make a comfortable difference
Speaking of merch, if you see me wearing a t-shirt that says "I want to make that abundantly clear" will you know I am a Swell fan? 😆
One day I’d like to see swell organized a huge event/convention video 😭 that would be insane
one my favorite streamers socpens went this year and i felt so bad for him getting excited for the partner swag bags and then showing up and the only thing left was shoelaces bc everybody else grabbed everything already 😭😭
aw i love scorpy what a shame he had that experience :(
i have definitely heard some of the larger streamers talk about the purple lounge
Twitch had a layoff wave I think? Could possibly explain the lack of twitch merch.
yup across 3 countries including korea and trust and safety but donated 100k to a huge streamer where her team stated money just makes things happen faster instead over a few yrs bc they get tons of thousands of donos plus huge sponsors. also twitch be gifting thousands of subs to huge steamers atm costing tons. also korea twitch is dead trust and safety now ai chat etc. look up devin nash if you wanna understand.
“Wanna see a video of me being hatecrimed?” is CRAZY I love her
I can't believe it's been a year already since the last video. Amanda, you should get in on the Sonic Symphony World Tour!
Today in why I hate my brain: 🎵"that's Swell in the corner!" 🎵 to the tune of REM's losing my religion
i was able to meet you!! I saw you on the first day and was lowkey stressing since my brain wasnt ready to talk HAHA my b. Then on the last day me and my friend met you and just talked about the con. At that time we also saw the carpets being put away by the artist alley which was funny. But, i honestly had a great time at twitchcon this year and definitely plan on going again.
you were asking what merch people got from the loot cave - it was my first time attending a twitch event so i wanted to get a fair amount of merch. i got the sweatpants, one of the hoodies, 2 shirts and a couple pins to give to my son. the clothes are all very soft and comfortable.
I’m interested if Twitch is going to sustain, Amazon bought it and was kinda competing with UA-cam, but seems to have lost interest and it isn’t a money maker for them (the bandwidth would make them more money if they leased it to someone else)
everyone who's gone to twitchcon this year said it was awful so I, of course, have been looking forward to your video
the san diego convention center has good rail transit connections 💪
Omg that's so sad and weird that people were flip-flopping so much with you last year, I'm glad it's a lot better this year 🙌
I think renewed "respect" for music licensing is breathing new life into an old song -- _'The Rhythm is Gonna Get You'_
honestly the only thing i've heard so far is the twitch con minecraft championship
Seeing all the drama out of TwitchCon USA is wild to me because Europe was so wildly chill I was completely taken aback XD
Swell reviews Linus Tech Tips and gets a computer so you dont have to moment??
omg thank god u did this twitchcon lol I haven’t watched yet but I hope you cover the weirdness ab kick streamers and harassment
It would be really cool if Swell came to Nekocon on the East coast next year. We always get a lot of special guests and we have a lot of fun things and there are only 2 badge types etc etc etc
i don't like how purple twitch is sorry i gotta stay on youtube
I wanna see swell and qtcinderella collab
i don't know about her friends. QT is alright, but her social life is very *industry* and I heard one of her friends, not the girls persay, say something mean about swell on stream like "they can't look at her face" because she's too ugly. I'm still malding, aight?
STARFORGE PC! you get a really well built pc and you get a review out of it!
Just in time for dinner✨✨✨🥰🥰
OMG the whistling in the video at about 6:30 made me think I was not alone in my house 💀
Im an affliate and a pngtuber. The interest i had in going to twitchcon disappeared with the drugging at the supposed security protected vtuber party.
so cool bumping into you!

So the "surprise guest" is an individual who calls herself "Frogan".
I've never gone. I was curious to know if you have ever been to Pax?
I always wanted to go to twitch con.
Oo a pax video would be so interesting. I just learned it started from a webcomic.
Yeah, Pax would be interesting
its really cool that you recorded this video at the con!
I'm also wondering if the state of the econmy is heavily effected the down turn of Twitch Con. Especially if we think that Twitch got a discount to come back to San Diago.
Anyway thanks for the content, I love hearing your opinion lmao.
gonna be going to TwitchCon Rotterdam next year, curious to see how different it is from how you've described San Diego to be
Nice you actually are a partner this year, instead of swapping badges with Skootish to get in like you did last year
I build my PC but buying a prebuilt PC is just as good.
Empty or not you were brave for filming there. I don't know how people are confident enough for irl streams.
I definitely didn't hear "Inflatable Corn Maze" the first time you said it ahah
Ive heard a lot of twitch streamers say every year has gotten worse which is wild for a relatively new convention.
Hey I don't watch every video but I have noticed a dip in views per video, I remember you saying in a previous vid a while back now that you're not going to do this forever and that's entirely understandable and you do you queen! But if you do decide to step away from UA-cam as a career I beg you to still give random updates on the various cons you end up in. You have such great insights into the most random shit, like F1! Either way be good be well love your videos swell
I go to conventions all the time now like Amanda, I just don't record myself (idk how) and she's 100% correct do not feel bad about sitting in your room decompressing I didn't do that one year and ended up crying in front of a bunch of people bc I was so stressed out. Yes you paid alot of money to be there, but please take a break
22:42 You should get LinusTechTips to build you a pc👀
Genuinely good idea
Man those swag bags sucked. Wish you luck finding a good computer! For keyboards (of which I have binged many videos about) it’s all about preference. Do you want clacky? Ergonomic? Pretty? Linear switches? None of it rreeaally matters if you don’t care that much. These days keyboards are very customizable-make sure it’s hot-swappable and you’re golden.
Swell's gamer arc coming soon???
Suggestions for a gaming pc: none. After asking for suggestions some company is probably sending you a streaming specific gaming pc now and i can't go up against that. 😂
Do you want to Sim race in VR, with 3 screens or just 1 screen? the PC parts you will need will depend on how you want experience sim racing. I personally love VR because of my real-life driving habits
I don’t really watch streams however a swell gamer girl era would bring me over to twitch in a heartbeat
woah was not expecting frogan here...... really? Frogan????????
She just publicly stated that she hopes US veterans "get PTSD". Tried to qualify it by saying that the ones who "disavow imperialism" are apparently okay. According to her. But everyone else? The people she disagrees with? Apparently they deserve PTSD .
I have no love for imperialism, but I can't wrap my head around that. Frogan is beyond despicable.

A few weeks ago I watched this video of Amanda's, with the unfortunate "Frogan" cameo. Today, I see that "Frogan" has made astonishingly ignorant public comments that insulted and angered me. Along with many other people.
I came back to this video to amend some comments I remember making when it was first uploaded. Then I scrolled through, curious if anyone else had said anything about "Frogan". That's when I saw your comment.
It appears I mistakenly took you for a "Frogan" supporter.
If you are not a "Frogan" supporter,and/or do not endorse her antics, then I have no problem with you, sir or ma'am. This is just an unfortunate case of friendly fire.

I love your con-going energy. If the opportunity presents itself, I would love to shake your hand or hug you, whichever you feel comfortable with.
I have a lenovo thinkpad and I really like it.
I recommend searching up specific questions about pc's
Like "what graphics card is the best for xyz games/uses of computer" and pulling up reddit threads. That helped me a lot.
I have a thinkpad p15s 40GB of RAM, icore7, NVIDIA graphics, touchscreen (highly recommend), and it's 15.6" display.
I also have a Lenovo thinkpad and I love it for school and work, but I’d highly recommend against getting this model if you are interested in playing any sort of game that requires a solid amount of processing power. (maybe I’m getting my terms mixed up but for example I can’t play outer wilds, astroneer, or many other games without turning graphics, details, shadows, etc aaaaall the way down).
Good video, as far as gaming PCs I would recommend a gaming laptop of eithyer Alienware, Rebublic Of Gamers or Acer but with 1TB of internal storage for content creation. Also make sure it has at least intel core i7 and nvidia geforceRTX graphics 😄💻
Could you make a video about American fire sales UA-cam? Sellers like Hooked on Pickin' sell on live streams all kinds of crap and people pay ridiculous sums for glass paper weights, candy and costume jewelry. It's super addictive to watch. The weird thing is that it's this small group that does the bying, almost exclusively. But maybe it's better that people with shopping addiction buy from small sellers instead of Tiktok stores or QVC.
Hey if you ever want to watch “human male chicken fighting” the Australian footys gonna be in Las Vegas next year. I’d love to see what your thoughts on it are cause it’s such a staple here in Australia
Unrelated to this video, but I'm disappointed I didn't see you at Anime Ink Con. I wanted to see you getting a big waifu tattoo LMAO
Never been. No interest. Last time I was at a Con was Anime Expo 2005, where the big scandal was they banned Man Faye for being a man (it was a different time). I learned of my now favorite anime by randomly walking into a 4:30AM screening. Good times.
Curious don’t you have editors that can take out the sound/music and just do your voice?
Or is that a hard process even now?
Re gaming PC recommendations: not Alienware. Never Alienware. But I've had good experiences with Asus and MSI.
You can't say Mac, its bad luck. Call it the scottish laptop.
