Jordan Poole just had to be patient and he would have inherited the warriors as its leader in the future. He could have worked on getting better within his role and prepare to takeover once Steph can't do it anymore.

And he probably would’ve been the perfect guy to do it too, he fit perfect with their style of play, he could’ve recruited other young players in the future who would be entering the beginning/middle of their prime like wemby, ja, tatum or brown, edwards, bam, randle, etc to build another big 3

@@Steve_305 humble himself? Buddy poole was horrendous last season his efficiency for the points he averaged were very bad, not to mention the playoffs absolutely abismal, why would curry “give” him the team when he is miles better lol. he was mainly traded not only to keep draymond but to get rid of his garbadge contract which was for like 120 million or something draymond is a far more valuable player to the team than poole and to get someone like cp as well was a steal for the warriors.

I think Jordan didn’t realize that he was able to do all of those things because of Steph and Klay and how much attention they get from the defense. That and just how the warriors’ offense works. It’s much different when you’re the only guy the defense has to worry about. He could have stayed and learned so much more if he just humbled himself.

@@enterpassword3313 Klay, Steph, and the warriors’ influence on Jordan Poole was more than just on the court and game day. If you’re around a team that has championship mindset, experience, and culture, you’ll gain so much more than you would as the star player of a team that’s never won. He’s the “star” player of a team and is surrounded by a team culture that’s never won. I don’t think Poole was a fluke. He has potential to be great but it can’t be unlocked if he isn’t around greatness. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The problem with Poole’s scoring is it has become inefficient scoring once his ego got out of hand. That was the problem, he won a ring before he even had a chance to hit a slump or start getting out in the spotlight. Nothing was expected of him and he didn’t get the ball as much so he made every shot count. Once people started praising him (and you see this with a lot of arrogant players) he started jacking up deep 3’s thinking each and every game was a “Poole party” and when he’d miss 3 in a row, he’d try to solve the problem by shooting 3 more and hoping they go in to fix his percentages. Dude was Allen Iverson with half the talent and the same ego, that was the problem. At least Iverson had a reliable mid range in his prime, Poole’s 3’s aren’t even consistent

Bob Myers basically said it without saying it. Look up the ESPN episode where they talk about Harden's situation, it's just a few days old.
When he was asked what he would do in a similar situation, he implied that he's been there before and the Superstar's opinion is more important than his own. He also insinuated that he's asked Steph if Draymond needed to go, but Steph said "I prefer Draymond".
It would take too long to fully explain, but if you hear him articulate it, he was probably talking about the Jordan Poole situation.

Jordan Poole didn’t understand how much easier his opportunity to score was because of the spacing provided by playing with two of the best shooters of all time, if not having to be guarded by the other team’s best defender, and for playing many minutes against second teams. Take all three factors away and he’s going to find it’s much harder to score. And even harder to be a top scorer and still win games - at most, he’s probably destined for “empty stats” / “meaningless” scoring

They traded him cause he was throwing games at the end. There was difference in how he first played and how he played at the end. His behavior at the end pointed out he didn’t want to be there anymore. I watched when him and Wiggins were doing great and I loved the two being on the warriors but towards the end before he got traded , all the games I watched it look like he was throwing and I couldn’t wait for him to be traded. Wiggins had personal issues and it showed in his performance and it still effecting him now. Pool looked like he just didn’t want to be there anymore and wanted out so he forced his way out with his poor performance which I think was him just throwing the game based on the misses and decisions he was making in the end when he played.

who the old guard tho, Steph? I get it if it’s klay, but last season he score good points for the warriors but sucks at defense, other teams figured him out and he became kinda useless during the playoff, hes not at steph or luka level where they offense heavily outweigh the lackluster defense.
During the playoff, steph carried the game against the kings and during the series against the lakers, he got totally shutdown offensively. myb there’s a world where he could grow in the warriors after sometime, but it’s actually better for him to not be in the warriors like he is now. Jordan could’ve been the next leader/superstar on a legendary championship like Tim Duncan or Kawhi if he waited his turn … but now he’s failing as the number one option on a below mediocre team . Ambition + Talent + Patience = Success. You can only substitute talent in this equation and still get the same outcome . But it can only be replaced by hard work ,but not regular hard , working harder than everyone else is the only way .

It's not anything to do with JP's personality per se, it's really that he's young and lacks the maturity needed to carry the second string. Maybe we couldn't really see it before and blamed the punch and the lack of a meaningful response from the Warriors org as the reason JP was traded...but having CP3 out there on the second line shows us exactly what was lacking last season and I'm happy for the change despite losing JP as a franchise player for our team.

Poole was selfish. Until he understands it’s not always about him but the team no matter where he goes he won’t be successful. He’s a very talented player that had a good season with a great team. Then last season he got the big head and became a liability rather than an asset. You can’t be a leader if your only about self.

When that's all you choose to do. While never passing the ball, or playing any defense at all. He then becomes a huge problem. He's a one trick pony. He made himself that way and his teammates will never like him, or respect him. If he doesn't ever look to try and be a complete player.
He should only look to takeover when it's absolutely necessary in the final quarter. Yet still always make the right play first. It's a TEAM GAME. You need other's to play well, so you can play well. If you're trying to do everything ya self. You will only decline in your own skill and everyone hate you.. Look at Haliburton, he's a complete player. All he needs to work on is his defense now and perfecting the little thing's he does all the time. He's loved by everyone, because the way he plays the game. Because he want's to make everyone around him better. While wanting to be the best himself. He does so without hurting the team and still shows he's obviously the best. While still being able to go iso if he had to. While no one would even expect it, or they'd have to be so worried about him doing other thing's. It opens his entire world to absolutely kill teams in so many ways.

Hindsight now, but he got his opportunity to play a bigger role and realize that he benefitted more from a championship team than him being great. He didnt realize that he was given so much freedom on the court because defenses were not worried about him. The warriors also had good defensive guards and role players to make up for poole's defensive liability. Now that there is no klay and steph to hide behind and defenses focus on him and he has to play defense, he is bringing his new team down. You dont want to hurt a players ego and hinder their growth. He doesnt realize how nice the coaches were in telling him to dial ot back. Nobody was going to say you are great spark off the bench and you arent really meant to be a starter.
