That price range sounds about right. Give or take + or - $1000.00. If u shop around you can find better deals on Cams,pistons. But your gonna be in the 10k range when going for POWER NUMBERS in the realem of 500+whp.
Good work mate. We are pretty lucky to live in the time we do though. 10-15 years 1000hp on any platform would cost 100k. Now it's achievable for almost anyone. Tech has come along way in recent years

Jeremy for a 4 cylinder, MSRP and top of the line everything it’s not really that bad of a price, building a STi or mazdaspeed engine to that level of power will cost you quite a bit more. And you can find deals. And building a engine really isn’t all that hard if you’re mechanically inclined, I’m lucky to have gone into the industrial mechanical field, I’m a power engineer... all in all you should be able to source parts for around $10k give or take for a reliable 1000 whp K series done right...
Yeah but the veyron will pump out 1000 hp all day. The veyron isn't that great tbh, you can build a 1k hp tt chevy v8 that will last just as long. They just did it to goof off and justify the price tag, also for smoothness and cool sound. The cool thing about the Honda is power to weight ratio, 1000 hp you can pick up with your hands! Put that thing in a drag bike and go nuts

Always been told a good estimate is about 1000 for every 100 hp, starting from 0 hp.. so far it's been pretty close, depending on where you get what parts

still got wastegate, exhaust system, intercooler/induction system, injectors/fueling system, all the various engine sensors plus ecu and the gauges would be highly recommended, the cooling system and all the pipework and then the clutch and drivetrain will want thinking about plus tyres to put the power down and then its also gonna need to stop! many more $$$ to go out of my budget lol
I was going to guess 10 grand but I wasn't including manifolds or the turbo. It's crazy to think that you can spend that kind of money on an engine and a stock one can handle 500.

Cost cost with reusing a oem timing cover. Oem tensioner>aftermarket(except toda which is a modified oem). Rest is very spot on for what it takes! Good video
People often tell me "Its not worth it" or " you'll never make your money back" They dont understand when you have a love for something time and money doesnt matter. There is a sense of achievement when building that engine or transmission and also the appreciation you have for these things, people who build for profit dont know what that means.

K20A2, pretty much top one out around the 500hp mark .the 6spd is the weak point, a couple missed shifts or money shifts and youre buying/building a new one.
Build a 6.0 powerstroke to 1000hp and tell me how much it costs. Totally different game but bigger injectors, supporting fuel/air mods head studs and deletes you will be nearly twice the cost.
Building a block to withstand 600hp was about 5k. Turbo and everything includimg the price of my 92 hatch came out to being 11k for everything said and done
I need you to build me a Kswap but I need more of a budget build. K24/K20 with a manual transmission. I really wished you boys were closer to NC so I could just use your shop. I really appreciate your attention to detail. If you know of anyone closer to NC to help in my build, let me know. So many shops but who can you really trust to do the work correctly.

There is another 10-15k right there. I am about to do a k24a2 gt3582r in a 2004 rx8. I figure if I spend wisely and shop carefully I can do the entire build (traded 2 amps and a sub for the rx8) for under 10k. Granted it will only be around 500-700 whp but I just can't see spending a lot of money where you did for a turbo car. N/A...you have to pay to play...that is a fact! Cams? Any valve headwork? A lot of what you did I will do but honestly at around half the cost. I am stuck on sleeves. This is a pretty big expenditure and I am seeing some stock bottom end k24's doing 700 whp. I do plan on upgrading pistons and rods. Do you think that building this engine at this level is worth the financial investment. Even with a nice rolling shell, full suspension, wheels, and tires and some other stuff it's cheaper to build a Honda that's ridiculous fast than to go buy a factory GT500 or something like that.

Well the tracks been closed all summer it’s way to hot out here in Vegas so we took a trip to California and only got one pass unfortunately it started raining again so we couldn’t make anther pass we hit 11.3 first hit with are fastest mph yet but spun 1-2 but on a good note track opens back up in two weeks out here and its finally cooling off so we getting back on it again and try and make it happen btw she still running good haven’t changed anything sins the dyno video
Was his sharpie technique on the main bolts because they were torque to yeild bolts? I've never done that on my main caps. I always just stop when the wrench clicks.
I dont know what torque to yield means. But what this guy did is called one flat turn. Do this at work. Torque to spec then next step is tighten one bolt head flat (1/3 of a turn), Our engine books say to do that. The proper term is called "turn of nut method". More reliable torque method for very high stress connections. For more info and actual calculations Google turn of nut method.

K swap mr2 is badass. I have an aw11 I'd like to k swap but I've never done an engine swap before. Just starting to work on mine now.

Why not copper plugs for better heat transfer? Iridium is more for longevity and street builds with low risk of detonation
