Thank you senator!❤ I cried, and I have the story in my family too. My grandmother’s parents lived in a small village in Moldova where she was born but moved to the city after marriage. My gran grandparents were born there as were the rest of the Jews in that small village. They lived peacefully with their Ukrainian, Moldovan and Russian neighbors never expecting the horror waiting for them. On the day Hitler crossed the Moldovan border, villagers gathered all the Jews, every single one of them, in a barn and tortured them until they bagged to be killed. They killed them all! It wasn’t political! It was pure vicious hatred! Thank you senator 🙏🏻❤ for telling the truth!

You want the republican to take away the politics of Mr Schumer and simply hear his words.
Go to the beginning of his speech; he started his speech with a shot at Trump.
Throughout his speech, all of his negatives were Republican focused.
He never used his side to pinpoint negative actions and words.
Don't ask people to do what you won't do.
Curious, did he reach out to that Muslim woman he referenced after Oct 7th ... or maybe she now declined his offer after the negative focus was on her community.
      Hmmm.

It was a good speech, but it was very one-sided. People should be able to separate Jewish-Americans from the policies of an extreme right-wing government in Israel that has many members who openly call for expulsion and ethnic cleansing. If, however, Jewish-Americans are suggesting that other Americans should understand their support for and special relationship with Israel, even when it is ruled by such a hideous, overtly racist government, they are asking too much. A Japanese-American who supported a fascist government in Japan would be abhorrent, not because s/he is Japanese-American but because the position is abhorrent. Senator Schumer tried to explain away the ethnic cleansing of Palestine by pointing to the later expulsions of Jews from Arab countries and suggesting that Arab countries should have been willing to take in the "cleansed" Arabs. Even if one accepts that kind of colonial, imperial logic, what is the excuse for ministers like Ben-Gvir and Smotrich who openly and ardently support the racist vigilantes in West Bank settlements? Ben-Givr had a photograph of Baruch Goldstein who opened fire in a mosque with an automatic weapon in Hebron killing 30 and wounding 125. Certainly Senator Schumer is not asking us to understand support for a government with people like that in it regardless of whether one is Jewish or not.

Interesting to find this article in WPost about this speech I had to go to Google. It is very deeply buried in the other content, while the matter is groundbreaking.
I think what he said should be a topic of an editorial, not a hidden article. But cowardly WPost would not do it.
In this respect, I am no Chuck Schumer, I don't speak from high tribunes and I don't move billions.
But when there was 911 and stupid would attack Muslims I always stood for them. When Muslim Ban was introduced I met it in Detroit airport. When George Floyd was killed I marched for him in the middle of covid. I opposed MAGAts on every day confrontations attacking Asians for God knows how they brought covid to the country.
And now as a **Jewish woman, when this came to my life I stand completely alone**. My so called friends are nowhere to be found.

That person would and should be considered a monster. But those monsters are allowed to talk to a Jew that way. Thats the double standard.

    I stand with Israel. ❤
I don’t understand how anyone can stand with Hamas??? That kind of thinking and reasoning is foreign to me.

It's not antisemitisam if you protest genocide and calling for it to stop. And you saying that you will support Israel no matter what that is supporting genocide.

It seems like every nation that has faced persecution or extermination seems so obsessed with having a homeland and place of refuge. I just can't wrap my head around it. Very strange phenomenon

consider yourself lucky you and your family has never had to survive a genocide or displacement. that is privilege. i hope to be the first in four generations not made a refugee.

So pleasantly surprised he has not just kept silent. Got to give it to Mr. Schumer. This is going to get him more than a few enemies among his democratic colleagues. ✝✡

Daily news reports "Hamas Health Ministry" deaths.
IDF military confirmed 43:20 5,000 Hamas fighters had been killed - equivalent to roughly one fifth of its overall strength. Six battalions - numbering around 1,000 men each - had been significantly degraded.

Every group ever targeted by prejudice has experienced this trauma. I can’t help but think of every human fleeing their home in terror from war, gang, religion, or politics. These people trying to go some place safe get stopped at a border and denied entry. Sad.

"THESE People" are not coming for the same reasons. They are coming for economics, and we can't take in the whole world. The terrorists, drugs, and gang members are amongst them as well. Our own safety counts for something as well.

    There's a movie, too.
