  • This video I was a little hesitant to post it, but really I want to sure some of the dark side to traveling anywhere else. This is no hate towards Korea, I love almost everything there, and I’m a skincare and makeup hoarder haha
I’ve always had great experiences in Korea but this was just a very hmmm interesting day. Again like I said the bus driver was very helpful and kind until my grandma spoke Chinese to me basically asking do we get on. At this point there’s no one behind us. Then he closed the door and pulled forwards to let people off for some reason, so I went to ask other people if this is the right bus which we were at the end of the line since it was the right bus. But this time he actually closed the door on us AGAIN which now I do think it’s because we are Chinese:(

I am a SEAsian and after enjoying the beaches in Philippines and getting a really nice tan, I went to SK and omg the discrimination I faced was something I’ve never faced even after living in US for over a decade. It was the most prevalent when it came to taking the public transport. No taxis would stop when I hail them even though they were available. One time I went to a mom and pop restaurant and they made me pay before serving me, while Korean who came in were never made to pay immediately. These are not all I experienced, but it was enough for me to never ever want to go to Korea ever again

I barely spoke korean and she barely knew english but she translated in the app for my cousin and I to come back in the future. The elderly man credit card machine didn't work and he felt so bad for that. He told us to take the $60 coat and to come back the next day to pay for it. We said we couldn't agree to that. So I ran 🏃‍♀️ through the alleys to get some cash for this man. He gave us free leggings and chocolates for the mishap lol too cute. Even if they don’t hate you, they treat you like less than human, like you don’t exist in their society and they don’t care what happens to you. I understood the words as I watched Korean movies a lot and I felt really sorry. And I encountered another Ks who came to our country and the experience was really bad. This is why I get upset when people act like America is uniquely racist. Yes, racism exists in America and yes, it's a problem, but I struggle to believe it's the _most_ racist country, even though people often point their fingers at us when talking about racism.
