I wish the entire Forza community would watch these videos by you, feel like it would make a huge difference in public lobbies haha. Love the in-depth guides man, they really have helped me step my game up!
Rev matching was such an easy habit for me to get into, did it once with the Ultima on Le Mans in FM4, have done it ever since. Alps has 2 spots where you can shift in the air, depending on the gears: on Stadtplatz at the exit of the right hander as you start going back up the hill, and on Festival/Stadtplatz at the very top of the hill
This is exactly what I've been needing! Thank you so much man, I can already tell that with applying this knowledge that my laptimes are gonna drop signifigantly
im still fairly new to forza 6 and learning my favorite cars and tracks i really need to practice more especially shifting and unassisted turns i normally use cars built before the 1990s and 2000s as im a sucker for classic muscle cars i might spend an hour or two learning my bel air
I'm asking this question here because I know that you would know. how do I get the telemetry while I'm playing? I only know how to watch telemetry on the replay,
Great vid, thanks man. I got you up on XB1 and was basically wondering if it is the same in the new Forza. I'm particularly having problems finding shift points in the C7R and other race cars like that. Thank you
Great info! My TVR has an interesting power band, peak TQ power band is approx 3-4k while the HP is 7-8. Why do you prefer HP instead of TQ? Thanks for the vid..
is there a particular reason why i see a lot of people play in 3rd person? I tend to play in 1st person headlight point of view. Im curious to the advantages or dis advantages each view might give you.
It's mainly preference. One reason I prefer driving in 3rd person is for a better view of what's happening around me. It's easier to race clean that way. If you're an aware 1st person driver though, it doesn't really make a difference.
That's what makes Forza so terrible. Controller-Freaks and Sitting in a Helicopter over the Car ... All Monkeys hate the Illusion of Life, the Freemasons, the Illuminati, the Deep State, the Money, the A.I., etc. but ... in there own Gameplay ... all that is forgotten.
I play on wheel and wouldn't necessarily call myself quick, but not very slow either. Any suggestions for an A/ S class power car that is good to drive? Once again, great vid :D
+P1eased0nteatme Power cars are challenging with wheels in my experience. I'd suggest running power cars which have a bit of grip or they're AWD or FWD since it's easier to fix mistakes. Try the FF Charger in both classes, that should be decent as RWD.
+Raceboy77 Yeah, I find them unpredictable at the best of times haha. I tend to drive FWD cars a lot, so that is not a problem. Also, should I put aero on power cars, at the excess of some speed? (I know it depends on track) Thanks :)
soooo what is power shifting cause normally i just shift when the rpm on the clocks is red i run manual and clutch oh and btw thanks for the other tips!
Jacob Smith extremely late reply, but powershifting is when you shift with out letting off the gas, clutch in shift gears, all while keeping the throttle pinned, it’s mostly used for straight line speed rather than bends and corners
@@gunnargreene2060 This came in use for me 9 months later, a question you answered 3 years later. It's never too late, someone will eventually stumble upon the info.
Ah, another self-proclaimed car enthusiast that has no idea what he's talking about... Don't listen to him. There's no concrete number for RPMs that's suitable for downshifting in general. A general rule of thumb for downshifting is to lower one gear each time you cover half of your remaining braking distance. Example: Your braking zone is 100 feet long. Start braking, then downshift at 50 feet, then again at 25 feet, again at 12-13 feet, etc. You can obviously push this harder, but it's a good starting point if you don't know how to do it.
David Hoch it's a Game it's not real life son and i gave him a Tip didn't said he had to do it that way but I don't need 2 see what rpm i have to down shift one since i can Hear when like i cant even explain it's the same thing as you would like Calculate the distance to jump
hi raceboy, i'm having problems with shifting in Monza 1st bend right after the straight from the start. I'm on the 6th gear before i start braking and i've tried to shift to 5th then 4th gears before making the turn but the car seems to lose control and i've tried shifting quickly from 6 all the way to the 2nd gear so i can go through the bend smoothly. Am I supposed to never get as high as the 6th gear in the 1st place and is switching quickly from 6-5-4-3 quickly not advisable? Thanks a lot for your help Sir.
+staj Do whatever works for you. Gears will always depend on the car, just do what the car likes. If you're going fast enough to get into 6th, use it. If you're having trouble decelerating then try different ways to fix it. The only thing to remember is that if you're running simulation damage, downshifting too quick can hurt your engine.
It's funny how i'm back 7 months later and i'm a better racer (only coz i've been practicing more in the last couple of weeks :) ) thanks to you especially and the video makes way more sense than ever. Just to summarize so I can have concise principles in my head - for closer gears you shift earlier and for longer gears you shift later, or better still just shift to have usable power band on the next gear? And for shifting in corners, the point is to shift to the next higher gear in the corners right before a straight? And for corner exit gearing the concept seems to be to stay in a gear and only shift down on tighter corners but stay in higher gears through the long corners while letting the power band build up right before cornering is over with the car ending up at a good speed after cornering? hope my message isn't too long. Thanks a lot Again Sir !!! p.s. do you ever drive in cockpit view?
staj glad to hear I've helped! Even when using short gears, watch for the power. Generally you'll be shifting quicker just because it's short though. For corners, make sure you're exiting in the right gear, that's all that matters most of the time.

thank you so much for all the videos. i play this game long time but because of you im gonna switch abs off.

When I’m turning idk how many downshift gears to do for e.g. if I’m in gear 4/5 and I’m taking a turn do I downshift to 3 or 2 ????
This is the best shifting tips around YT, btw, do you hit the shift (X or B) + clutch (A) together ?
+mass627 Yes, at the same time.
Love the new intro! ...and great video too.

+Raceboy77 how do i rev match corrects i have an idea but im not sure also should it be performed every corner
very helpful video keep them coming

do you let go of throttle as your changing gear?
what do you do so when you are turning and playing full trottle your cars never spin the rear tires ? is it the tune ?
llamaloka it's the driving, throttle control.
Do you use a steering wheel and pedals to drive?
I have a steering wheel, pedal set with a clutch, and a realistic 6 speed shifter
6speedguy84 nope, controller.
6speedguy84 how much did that cost you
Excellent advice
I also made an a class, but i always end up losing traction in the corners. I guess its because my gear transitions/orTune/orMydriving
So, I take it the power curve should look like an EM wave?
+The Naked Argonian The power curve can be seen when upgrading the engine.
***** Yeah, I know. I was just thinking theoretically.
I do.... loving the videos

I normally run aero on power cars. For Old LeMans and some of the LB speed cars they don't run it but I prefer aero especially for lobbies.

Awesome Vid. Now I just need to work on this :)
How much difference would it make for me when I always tend to shift when I reach the red line
I just started forza and have no idea what you are talking about XD
Uh... Have you noticed he hasn't gone off the gas when he switches up gears... So he is on the Rev Limiter so he is slower. I think
Fortunately, on Forza, shifting without lifting has been the fastest way to do it since clutch has existed in the game.
@@Raceboy77 What?! Really, I had no idea tbh...
Yep! If you watch all the esports it shows it some more :).
Bro keep it up. I need this help! :)
I don't know when to lower gear
Cornholio033 Depens on the Car but i'm a Car enthusiast so i know when to shift i can hear it but try below 4 RPM

lol same engine in supra as 240sx?
+RenZoneNL Yes, 5.7 v8 swap.
Race Cat on the hood!
2:01 did he just say 420hp
braking line. I must be the only one on forza not using one. probably why I can't first place any multiplayer lobby.
I doubt that's the case. FRC disallowed braking line, and the same guys made it to the top anyway.

makes no sense
