How does this compare to the Pitts & Spitts pellet smokers? Looking for a smoker NOT made in China (Rec-Tec, Traeger, GMG, etc). I have a Rec-Tec but have had many issues. Great customer service but I don't want to have to call a company because their products are Chinese junk. I want to NEVER have to call them for a problem if you know what I mean. Thanks
Ive never seen a Pitts & spitts so I can't personally compare them. I will say the fit and finish on this is great. Im super happy with it and plan to use it for years to come. The only down side is the PID panel is a bit hard to see in the sunlight.... Other than that, it makes amazing quality bbq. everyone LOVES it.
@@kevingallemore6779 Yep...I'll be getting the P&S 1250 in a few months. Spent a lot of time on the P&S Facebook group and all the info I read and saw sold me.
devcon67 I as well...have you looked at the Blaz’n Grill works? They seem to be well built as well. But about $600 cheaper. If you’ve looked at them what turned you away from them?
Hi, i rust ordered a rec tec rt-700 because of all the great reviews but this is the first I've seen bad and kinda got me nervous to be honest lol. Would you please tell me the kind of problems you have experienced and what model you had? I almost went with the Yoder but wanted to save a few bucks. Thanks
Do a update video! Do you wish you would’ve tried rec tec? I CANNOT figure out if I want the same thing you got the Yoder 640 on the comp cart or the Rec tec 700 bull with the comp cart. You should do a 2 year review on errr!!! Would really appreciate it
Thanks Dylan... Ive been meaning to do a follow up and will try to make one this weekend.. a 2 yr recap. I actually LOVE the Yoder.. Buy once, Cry once and enjoy it forever. The food is always Amazing. It was a small learning curve for me coming off a stick burner, but I'm super happy.
I bought direct from Yoder, and it was shipped direct to my house via FedEx. I LOVE it. cooks amazing and it often better that all our local BBQ restaurants. Never once have I had buyers remorse.... After 2 years of sitting out back under a cover, it still looks new. I hear Yoder released a PID upgrade that ill be looking into.
cooks awesome.. no rust (yet). my only complaint is the PID screen is hard to see in the sunlight, and the buttons are hard to push. for the cost, I think Yoder should upgrade this. Other than that its awesome.!
Thanks for this video, there is not enough good videos on these Yoders, I love the cart too my man, looks awesome!!! How do you like it after a couple of years of use? Thanks again! 👍👊
I have used it a few times now.... Its super easy to use, and meat comes out amazing. Im super happy with it. The only thing (and its pretty small one) is the PID display is a bit hard to read in the sun......
I own one and have had numerous issues....only had it 3 months and have replaced my entire damper because it became stuck, I had to replace my diffuser plate because it became warped under heat, and I had to replace one of the fans that failed all within just a few months. Also had to re calk some areas because I had pellet ash flying out. Yoder paid for all replacement parts and shipping but I think its redic that I would have to have all that replaced in just a few months. Besides that it produces good results as far as BBQ goes.
jaxmon21 That's my worries with Yoder. Obviously the exterior is second to none and the looks are spot on. It's the little details that I seem to hear complaints about. Just sad they don't slowly improve these minor issues to have the ultimate pellet smoker.
Mankite After researching various pellet grills, it appears they all have issues... no matter how much you pay. I agree with you, i hope they keep improving.
These are garbage compared to my Pitts & Spitts Maverick. Yoder's are made out of 10 and 12 gauge steel whereas my Pitts and Spitts is made out of 7 and 10 gauge. Also, I paid 3K for mine and it is full stainless. For just a few hundred more you could get full stainless and thicker gauge steel. Also, with pitts and spitts if your auger motor or blower fan ever goes out they sell replacement parts for reasonable prices.
I have owned my YS640 for 15 months now. It works as good as the day I got it. You will be very happy with it.
In exact same situation, looking to upgrade 5yr old Traeger Lil Tex. Very few videos of the Yoder out there. Thanks for posting
Hi. Are you still happy with your smoker?
Thanks for posting. Not many videos out there for those of us in the market for a Yoder.

Deacon 67, I’m also thinking of the P&S. Did you decide on a gril?

Hey... I just posted a follow up review... 2.5 yrs later. check it out
2600 shipped is a good price... where did you get it for that?
From Yoder direct.
Did you buy it from a local vendor or somewhere online? How are you liking it now that you've had it almost 2 years?

That is beautiful my friend!
Very nice well done.
Have you done any cooks on the Yoder? How did they turn out? Any issues with the Yoder?

Does the yoder have a pellet dump to change the pellets in the hopper?
No the yoder doesn’t come with the pellet change out, but to be honest with you I haven’t had the need for it.
