Forging My First Integral Bolster Knife

This knife was made from 3/4" coil spring. this is a challenging project because of the hammer control required to forge the knife, but I really enjoyed the project let me know what kind of handle you'd put on it. Thanks for watching!! #blacksmith #bladesmithing #diy

Nicely done, came out great. Not the best material for a knife but great for practice. Most all coil springs today are 9260 material and Leaf springs are 5160. The leaf springs are a better choice for a knife. But you need to watch for micro cracking from springs that have had heavy use and use proper heat treatment.
