  • I fly to Nylstroom to pickup my sister to fly her back to Pretoria. Since the KFA Bushbaby currently has an engine problem, I'm flying in a hired Jabiru J170 to pick her up at Nylstroom airfield (FANY) and then back to Rhino Park airfield just outside of Pretoria. It's a fun flight in a fun airplane with a fellow private pilot who happens to be my sister. She even noticed a silly mistake I made!

    Hello from St. Louis Missouri USA.
    First of your videos I've seen.
    Good flight with your pretty sister.

    Great video. I'm considering selling my Kitfox Series 5 and buying a Jabiru, so I'm surfing the net to find out as much as I can about the Jabiru.

      It would be a pity if you had to sell the Kitfox, those aircraft are great!
      I love the Jabirus. If I had to fly as fast as possible, and as affordable as possible, the Jabiru would be my first choice.

      @@LetsGoAviate, the Kitfox just doesn't fit my needs anymore. I'm in need of an affordable cross country airplane now, and the Jabiru seems to fit that. I am concerned about the reliability of the 3300 engine beyond 500 hours. From what I am reading, there may be an issue.

    • @LetsGoAviate
      @LetsGoAviate  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah, nothing wrong with that, the plane needs to suit your mission. And the Jab definitely fits the "affordable cross country" MO.
      There is definitely a perception about the Jabiru engine reliability. It may be accurate or not. But I would definitely not deviate from the maintenance schedule in the slightest with the Jab engine, or buy one that wasn't maintained perfectly.

      @@LetsGoAviate, I appreciate your opinion. Now I need to go fly one and see how it fits.

    My laaitie is nou 16 en het nounet sy learners gekry. Hy leer op n Foxbat Ls22. Sal jy aanraai dat ek hom n Jabiru 430 koop? Ons soek n 2 seater high wing vir nou?

    • @LetsGoAviate
      @LetsGoAviate  9 місяців тому

      Die Jabbi vlieg bietjie anders as die Foxbat. Om 'n Jabbie te koop behoort min of meer dieselfde te kos as om een te huur vir training. Die Jabbi's is redelike goeie trainers oor die algemeen.

      IBE is great! Ja dit klink na 'n plan. Ek sal heelwaarskynlik met ons Bushbaby vlieg, dis goedkoper as om die Jab te huur 😅

    How much time and at what speed did it take u to get to PTA/Nylstroom

    • @LetsGoAviate
      @LetsGoAviate  3 роки тому

      This was about 45 minutes from Rhino park airfield (east of Pretoria) to Nylstroom airfield. This plane cruises about 100 knots, which is 185km/h.
