    Hello Ula and Josh. My grandmother was a super lady. She teach me how to pray, spoke fairy tale to me,.. An old lady born in Austria - Hungary empires. She always hugged me, I remember, I brought her flowers as a boy. Alwasy cooked, worked as a woman. She tought me a lot of things. To be good, nice, order, discipline, to be quiet etc,... I remember when she died. I was there. Thats life. Have a beautiful day. Bye. Rudi.

    you should start " Guerrilla gardening". Planting little garden plots wherever you moor, keeping track of them on a map so whenever your in the area you can get some "foraging" in off of your little garden spot. You can let friends and fellow boaters know if you choose and share.

    Love that you are using your grandfather's rod. I still have the one my late uncle taught me to fish with and my son has been using it too. Invest in some barbless hooks (size 12) and buy a disgorger or forceps so you can get the fish back in quickly. Bread and sweetcorn will work too. Just squash a bit of bread on the hook and crack on. Deeper, shady bits are best. Tight lines 👍

    The bait can vary immensely, worms, maggots, bread, corn, meat. If you ever see any fish, just try baiting the water a little, see what gets eaten. But please make sure you have a fishing license, it's mot worth the fine for the sake of 30ish pounds.

  • @michaelbuchanan3212
    @michaelbuchanan3212 Рік тому +5

    For fishing still water like a pond or canal... Place a bobber at a spot on the line that represents the depth of the canal or just above the the bottom. In other words visualize a depth that will hover the baited hook right over the canal bottom. Bait the hook with a worm (bullhead/catfish) or canned corn kernal for carp. Wait until the bobber slightly bobs/jiggles and hook the fish with a jerk up and to the right. Hopefully that will prove successful.

      @@UlaandJosh aww so welcome darling, but it’s straight from my heart and these loved ones need our love while we’ve still got the time.. I constantly told him I loved him and made sure he had everything he needed. Filled his cupboards at Christmas making sure he had plenty to eat. But it’s your time they need as they get older like they once gave to us when we were young. Love to Ula & You , 2 beautiful souls. Lisa xxx ❤️😘💕

    So lush and green - beautiful. Thanks for sharing all your changes and journey. I always thought carp were easier to catch in Spring, when they're friskier with the fresher water. I could be wrong about that. Looking forward to the travels ahead - love the rebel yell

    When you are fishing off your boat try going off the back of your boat drop it down the side of the boat because the fish will be under nether the boat and its a nice way to relax and for your metal health and well-being good luck 😊

    try sweetcorn.
    if you use meat baits you will get eels.
    sweetcorn is good for carp.
    and float fish dont ledger as you dont know whats on the bottom.

    Hi Josh - course/river fishing can be really basic - I’d defo recommend getting some maggots as bait, say 1/2 Pint mixed & size 12/14 hooks & maybe a self cocking float - You’ll find you will will prob catch Rudd/Roach/Perch/Bream/Chubb - they don’t have to be big but really enjoyable - all the best mate….

    Smelly bait. My granddad made sticky, doughy balls of bread moistened with bacon grease and mixed with grated cheese. He caught fish so they must have worked.

Ula - Emily (of Ben and Emily) also uses the flowers of the hawthorne - adding the berries later - if I remember rightly vodka was involved! lovely to see you guys foraging and learning from you. good idea from richardjensen below about the guerilla gardening to find next time you pass by
