I'm a product of Alex born and raised, it's a nice township but you're not really in Alexandra from that area, you should've started from Pan Africa where Alexandra starts from 1st street going down to the last street 22nd Avenue and I'm from 21st Avenue, back in the 90's my 21st and 22nd Avenue where the most feared places
People of South Africa have this tendency of wanting to show their worst parts and then complain that people do not show the best parts of their country. This is still Alex, thanks @Walk_Africa for a positive review of that area.
Well, you are a strong confident person, nobody will mess with you. That said everyone was minding their own business anyway! It seems most people can afford satellite TV, or have the good sense to form clubs and share the expense. I was there at night on 25 May and I felt so unsafe but the people I had gone to told me to relax because the Community Police Forum is very strong there. Well, I still didn't feel safe but nothing happened to me. I could even drive back home through the streets to find my way to the highway and I was safe.
