The arena was definitely one of those challenges that wasn't worth it in this game. Fuck that. Also I wonder why they didn't program music into the area?
@@newgameld2512 if I remember you could technically use it if you used an MP recovery item and were super fast at using something like a summon before it drained. But it wasn't worth it. Especially as the game sadly lacked a shop. COTM was a lonely experience.
Little tip for others: You can drink a mana potion and quickly perform a DSS summon in the arena before the MP gets drained away. This helps a lot with this room.
I remember this room better than just about any other part of Circle of the Moon. My go-to solution was usually chug a bunch of MP potions, and then spam a summon before my MP drained to the point I couldn't summon it.
@@MaelstromFilm You actually can. If you drink an MP potion your MP will just drain right back out. BUT....if you are fast enough, you can activate DSS and cast a summon with the Uranus card. The timing is pretty tight but it is BARELY doable.
Screw this one room in particular, if it wasn't for the rewind function of the advanced collection and a crap ton of options, i kept dying to this. I hate that you need to run through this to get the last two cards
Yeah, he really just wrote off all of the sub weapons way too quickly. The cross is easily the best and holy water is pretty solid for a couple of fights as well.
I didn't have have internet back then and didn't know about the cards system, never wondered what they are for. However I managed to make it to the two headed dragon and beat it. But when I got to this room...
I managed to at least clear the arena once on my normal playthrough, but as magician, I haven't. Needle Armor, 2 Double Grips, huge supply of Potion Ex, Mind Ex, and Heart Ex.
This game had a fucked difficulty curve. Some parts, like the 3rd boss fight Adramelech are outrageously difficult for that point in the game. But after you get the Uranus card, literally every single boss (including dracula) become a joke.
esta area es opcional, la recompensa al final de la arena es la mejor armadura del juego, de lo siguiente no estoy seguro pero tambien creo que es el unico lugar para conseguir la carta de los poderes de luz (los mejores)

Just the fact that you can't use DSS at all.

@@somemong989 Yeah... The whole lack of a shop made farming healing items MISERABLE.

How many minotaur in this room?

Minotaur-taurs, many minotaur-taurs, many minotaur-taurs, many minotaur-taurs!!

But you will get a couple mana potions over the game and this is where you can use them.
Jesus Christ. This room is insane! Well done!
there is a person on UA-cam who has done it without using subweapons, either, so check 'em out in the description if you really want to be impressed.

I can't even believe I beat this game. God.
I vividly remember the first time I walked into that room. I almost shit my pants.
I am playing this Castlevania again after years and years again on the switch. But what sorcery is this? 🧐
Man the amount of save states I used to just reach the end underleveled and farm for a specific card
And Pikasprey Yellow says the Cross was a weak weapon. I actually recoiled when I heard him say that.
Lol yeah, he definitely messed that one up.

This was cool to watch, massive props.

*Runs inside and slips on an ice cube
Hardest part of any cv games hands down. I Only beat it using save states at the the time. Lol I should go back and give it the old college try again.
I dont understand what the devs were thinking with this room. Its nearly impossible, nearly.
They haven't learned either, see the room with two literal stage bosses in Portrait of Ruin
Peak game design
Best room in the arena 😊
I wonder what is worse, this or the room with two literal stage bosses that can attack you from anywhere on the screen in Portrait of Ruin
There is a way to cheese this room by being quick at summoning Thunderbird before MP runs out.
Now do it with just a whip?
I still have no idea how you're even supposed to beat this, even moreso multiple times for the unicorn and black dog card!
I managed to at least clear the arena once on my normal playthrough, but as magician, I haven't. Needle Armor, 2 Double Grips, huge supply of Potion Ex, Mind Ex, and Heart Ex.
Did they really need to give the Minotaurs loincloths? It's just kinda weird.
would you rather see what's under the loincloth
@@fishpickles7316 They could have made them smooth, like basically all the other monsters.
@@imafreakinninja12 I mean, minotaurs, are half human, half bull, so they probably did it to retain the humanness of it.
I farm Potion Ex from the Alraunes just for this room...
