    Hi! When adding the soundID reference plugin on the Master track in our DAW, are we supposed to keep the soundID application (the one outside of the daw) run on our desktop as well, or would that be flattening our response twice and therefore not provide a flat response?

    • @SoundIDCreators
      @SoundIDCreators  5 місяців тому

      Hello,
      Great question!
      You are on the right track! When using the plugin the Systemwide has to be fully closed otherwise the signal will be double-calibrated.
      If not disabled, then the flat signal is no longer flat due to it being calibrated twice.
      I hope this helps!

    What about Schroeder and in room Harman target curves? Which target curve you use to make your calibration settings for headphones? Thank you.

    • @SoundIDCreators
      @SoundIDCreators  Рік тому

      Hi! Our target curve is SR - Studio Reference. The SoundID SR standard sets the frequency response target to be completely neutral for speaker-based playback systems, i.e. a flat frequency response curve across all audible frequencies as perceived by the listener in the listening position. The headphone frequency response target is designed to emulate neutral-sounding speakers.
      You can take advantage of the Custom Target mode in the SoundID Reference standalone app and plugin to adjust your target curve.

    Important question. Why do we need to disable the plugin before rendering. I mix on headphones, so wont turning off the plugin, (which was making my headphones flat) ruin the mix? I'm confused.

    • @SoundIDCreators
      @SoundIDCreators  4 місяці тому +2

      Hello,
      Thank you for the question.
      When exporting a project, you or others will be listening to the mix on other sound systems. For this very reason when bouncing/exporting the mix, the plugin must be bypassed as you don't want your headphone calibration to be applied to any other headphones or speakers. Otherwise, the mix will sound off.
      When mixing and mastering the plugin must be enabled as it will provide a flat frequency response to your headphones and when the mix is finalized, simply hard bypass or turn it off.
      I hope this helps!

    Is there a workaround for Ableton so the preview sounds from the browser will play through SoundID on the master channel?

    • @SoundIDCreators
      @SoundIDCreators  Рік тому +1

      Hi! You could try a workaround by setting up the SoundID Reference app as the output device in Ableton and setting the SoundID Reference app as the system output, so the DAW signal passes through the app, thus applying calibration.

    I just don't understand why the SoundID PlugIn can't just automatically disable Correction and SafeHeadroom during Export? Obviously, the PlugIn detects that an audio export is happening. Why display a warning when it could just switch it off?

      Hi,
      Thanks for the question!
      Unfortunately, such a function is not available due to the DAW limitations and we are unable to bypass or edit anything on the user's behalf.
      The best workaround would be to create or add the plugin on a dedicated listening/monitoring bus where the plugin will not be imprinted in the mix if left active upon export.
      I hope this helps!

    when i put this plugin in my master channel in fl studio daw and raising the volume all the way up by focusrite interface it still sounds low in volume which prevents me from observing the problems in the mix properly and noisy frequency in addition to loudness problems

      Thank you Kronix for the answer! It is indeed the safe headroom function yet you have to keep in mind that by disabling it you might introduce clipping.

    I'm interested in this application but I'd only want to use it in my DAW when I actually load it as a VST.
    Is it possible to run it as a VST only, so that there's no process of it running in the background when I'm not working in my DAW?

    • @SoundIDCreators
      @SoundIDCreators  11 місяців тому +1

      Hi! You can fully quit the standalone app (via the Windows taskbar icon or the icon in the Mac menu) to not have it running in the background. You can also disable the launch on startup option in the standalone app's preferences. There should be no issue with using only the plugin in your DAW :)

    • @SoundIDCreators
      @SoundIDCreators  6 місяців тому

      Hello,
      Thank you for the great comment!
      As per the subwoofer, you can use it in conjunction with SoundID Reference but there are some nuances to consider:
      1. For a Speakers and Headphones license the left and right channels have to be daisy-chained via the sub
      2. For a Multichannel license you will be able to measure and edit all speakers independently
      You can learn more about the Subwoofer in our support center here: www.sonarworks.com/support
      Hope this helps!

      Hi,
      Thanks for taking an interest and reaching out!
      We haven't had a chance to calibrate this model for the average profile yet, however, you can submit your headphones on our website!
      Generally, we prioritize new additions based on the user request count, so your request definitely makes a difference! Meanwhile, if you still wish to pursue calibration on your model, this is possible with the individual headphone calibration service available at our store.
      Let us know if you have additional questions!

    How to properly set it up in FL Studio?

    • @SoundIDCreators
      @SoundIDCreators  8 місяців тому

      Hey!
      Thank you for the great comment. For a DAW workflow, we suggest using the plugin. Load the plugin on your master channel after all other plugins you might be using. Remember, it should be the very last plugin in the chain. Once calibration is loaded and active, see the volume meters moving upon playback and you're all set! Keep in mind to disable or fully bypass the plugin once exporting the project. Hope this helps!
      If you require additional information or help, please check out the support page on our website.
      Thanks!

      Ok that's what I did, however the master output would crank a million dB above 0. Do I just lower the output on the plugin?
      @@SoundIDCreators

    • @SoundIDCreators
      @SoundIDCreators  8 місяців тому +1

      Hello,
      Thank you for the comment!
      Please see whether you have the Safe Headroom function enabled. Depending on the correction, in most cases, the output volume should end up a little lower than the original signal due to the boosted frequencies. The reduction applied by safe headroom function is done to reduce clipping.
      However, if you set the volume slider to the safe headroom value or, once disabled, maxed out and you have a noticable increase in volume, please reach out to our support via our website so we can see in more detail the plugin behavior.
      I hope this helps!

    If this software is providing us a FLAT response, I don't understand why you are telling us to disable or fully bypass the plugin once exporting the project? Is not the best this flat response? Don't we have to reach it? How can I reach this flat response if I will disable the plugin? It is really confusing to me...

    • @SoundIDCreators
      @SoundIDCreators  6 місяців тому +1

      Hello,
      Thank you for reaching out!
      We bypass the plugin since we don't want our personal calibration to be imprinted into the mix. If we do otherwise and leave it active, then our speaker correction frequency response will be left in the mix, which would translate the mix to sound off on other sound systems.
      I hope this helps!
