- My specs:
Recorded using Audio-Technica AT-LP120-USB turntable with internal preamp removed and an AT120E cart. All records are cleaned on a VPI 16.5. I use Adobe Audition 3.0 for recording and processing. Clicks are removed manually with a light filter used sparingly.
Bought this vinyl for $1 at goodwill 💟
What a steal!!!
Wow! That's awesome!
I’m actually jealous
Susan is on lead not Vanity!! This is my jam and you can tell Prince is all over this.
K Araujo Susan sang lead on this song drive me wild
K Araujo prince boo he had to hold her down she the oringal singer
Jill jones
Cause he wrote it, played all the instruments, and produced it...
All over it
I remember spending hours just rewinding the cassette tape in the car just to digest the guitar solo and the entire arrangement itself back in the summer of 1990.....
He was THAT TYPE of an Artist! They used to call Him "The...."
😅😅😅😅fam. I dud that when it first came out in 82.
R.I.P. Vanity
Sleep well angel
susan moonie on lead
This is so tight....Prince is jamming his ass off!!
I’ve always said . The time . Vanity 6 . The family. Was his way of getting his funk nut off. And kept the pop stuff for him. I truly think he should’ve kept some of that funk for myself!
@@misterwebb8564 I agree. I think he gave away too many gems. But I understand he was experimenting and didn't want to mess up his brand.
This is more Lisa than Prince.
@@Darrin67 really?! How do you know?
@@Darrin67 Eh.. No. This is all Prince
Fun fact: Foo Fighters made a cover out of this song in their famous second album "The Colour and the Shape" from B-side tracks
I always love this. PRINCE all over this 🤴ooops I mean "Jamie Starr "
So ahead of its time = this is why the 1980’s was the best for music
Susan Moonsie on lead vocals of this classic Minneapolis electro funk
Yes this is so cool.🙂💜🔥
Susan moonise wrote this song back in 1978 when her n prince was on a date n told him wat the real
Never heard this version in my life. After all these years, there are still surprises....
Yes, & isn't it lovely?
I wore this damn 12" single OUT! Prince was a beast on the guitar
This is basically the instrumental and the song all in one. Prince killed this beat. Ahead of it's time.
I'm a die-hard 80 minnieapolis boy. All the groups!!
Nice work, I remember this from high school. Sad news, she passed today. :(
This is Susan singing and she is very much still alive
The. Guitar. Solo.
The brilliance of Prince 🎸the two minute intro viscous. Prince 💜 will be studied for decades. Michael Jackson was great. Prince was from another 🌎 #Prince4ever
Electronic funk before it was...! Futuristic ahead of its time!
Prince is the father of synth funk imo lmao
New F***ckin Wave...
Still jamming in 2020
This extended mix is the video version. Plus he plays and remixed this in Purple Rain... it's the breakdown in Lets Go Crazy 😉💜💜💜
Only True Prince fan hear that!!!❤❤❤
It's basically just an extended vamp - and it's glorious. Man this kills. Love it.
Still a Banga
r.i.p. denise. you were a dope singer and performer.
Not denise
No one like her 💟
This is Susan
thanks ! R.I.P Vanity
This is some of Prince best guitar work
i really wish that album vanity 6 was on itunes
I got many a gym sock pregnant to this song (video) when I was a kid.
What ?🤔
I used to LOVE the ending back in the day (1990)........
@ROCKNROLLFAN.. You keep specifically mentioning "1990".
Is that actually the year that you discovered this 1982 classic?
LOL
Or did you wait till the year 1990 to develope love for this hit which was rare even back THEN?
I remember this song being played on the Radio when I was a Teenager Lady in 1982. And watching the Video of the song on Video Soul the Station was BET. I also loved the ending that Electric Guitar. That was Prince playing that instrument in the background.
@@Ms_Charlotte_S 1990 was the year that I discovered this 12" maxi single version in my uncle's massive PRINCE collection.
@@ROCKNROLLFAN .. I love this 1982 classic...
SOUND is SOO GREAT!!!
****FROM*RUSSIA*WITH*LOVE****
RIP Vanity
30 years later and still funky as baboon boo boo
More like 40 lol.
b-side of Nasty Girl
good song.
wow really? I guess they re-pressed it. I had a copy that had only the radio version on one side and the long version on the other
I take that back, I remember now, they re-released it as a single. "He so dull" was on the other side of my record
Mines Has Side 1- "Drive Me Wild" and Side 2- "Bite The Beat"
🙋♂️ I 💜 the 80's!
I miss the 80's!!!
Where were you in 1982 ?
I was going to City Collage here in San Francisco! I was 19 years old!✌️
@@johnnydenham1586 i wasnt here for another 25 years
ELECTRIC GUITAR @ 6:20 all the way towards the end of this song" YEAH"🙋🏾♀️
Really luv this song still in 2023
in 2024!
Some really wicked shit took place recording this .
Can you elaborate on this at all?
@@crosstowntraffic727 He's being silly
Vanity 6 in the studio with his Royal Badness is that enough, I'm not into talking XXX

6:21 💣
Hey DJ, back that up! 0:00
early protege's of the maestro PRINCE
Susan sounds like a friggin baby in this.
She was 20 I think
Wish someone would do an extended version of the original album electro version. this version is too funky
Too funky? It's Prince.
Reminds me of Le Bain in the Meatpacking District
She wasn't interested in doing this..
Thank goodness she did it anyway 🙏
Electronic funk before it was...! Futuristic ahead of its time!
And we talk about today's music..
What about us, in the 1980s?
"I've never been driven,
baby your the first",,
"I may be youg,,
but I'm a whole lot of fun"
Still listening in 2021
Great stuff like all the productions in 82/84
Love this song!
Thet were a wonderful group
One of my faves❤
The three goddesses ❤
Love Susan ~420
This beat takes my heart away I love it R.i.p Prince
incredible
a little tip. play this on the pioneer pl-l1000 linear tracking turntable, the best record player ever.
Me encantaaaaa, es muy pegajosa
💜💜💜
Prince to me had his prime and peak as a producer back in 1982,that era he couldn't miss, and between the 1999 album, what time it is,this project, he gave Stevie nicks # stand back" the music,
this song sounds like it could be released today with just a little touch up. i can imagine Rihanna or Nicki Minaj doing a cover and it being a major hit. To me this songs sounds so good that is doesnt sound like an 80's song.
Allen Laurent . Pleeeze. They can't TOUCH this, sir... Keep dreaming.
Are u fucking nutz! Stay off the drugs son!😎
Allen Laurent Nah.....
Damn millennials will say anything for likes🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Nooooo!

Someone correct me pls😳

@@edwardgonzales8454 I know who it is Edward I was wondering who did the track itself. But I figured it out tho (Prince)💜👍
@@starrcompany3275 ya it was prince you can hear it was all him with those instruments playing I lone this song check out a song he also did called make up
@@edwardgonzales8454 How bout "Bite the Beat,"?
@@starrcompany3275 huh
Something sounds familiar about this song. Maybe that Jay Z and JaRule song "Can I get a what what"
Yeah I can hear it too
I don’t know the rap artist today . But many Prince songs have been sampled by many artist.
