It’s an absolute travesty that this groove was deemed ‘offensive’ and left off the 1999 deluxe reissue!! This is one of Prince’s most well known and loved bootlegs. To have this remastered and cleaned up would have been worth the money of the disc alone!!

The quality of this song is just astounding, I mean most artists don't release their demos because they just aren't good, Prince though, the best stuff he held back! Really hope we get to hear this one in all its purple pristine pleasure someday. Shame it wasn't included on 1999 Deluxe. There clearly is a specific lyric in this song that Prince would not approve of being released, and if that is what held it back from inclusion, I think most of us would be OK with that line edited out, as opposed to never having this song at all. The same can be said with Lust U Always, which shares a very similar line, but from a historical record standpoint, both of these should have been on the set and it was a missed opportunity in my humble purple opinion. That being said though, the new 1999 Super Deluxe set looks amazing in every respect, and is well beyond any expectation I could have had for it.

How this man’s outtakes are better than most people’s songs is just a modern marvel. We needed the original “Extralovable” on that deluxe “1999” release. It’s a travesty they left it off. I know they left it out because of that infamous line he says in it. But given the fact that Warner Bros and others have artists on their label who rap about killing folks, and no one says a word about it, I don’t see the issue. Prince makes one cheeky remark and everyone has the vapors. I don’t get it and I think that alone is a microcosm of everything wrong with our society. Always focused on any and everything but what we need to be focused on. Plenty of people in the grave because of “diss songs,” yet the labels continue to perpetuate and promote that sort of music. How this man’s outtakes are better than most people’s songs is just a modern marvel. We needed the original “Extralovable” on that deluxe “1999” release. It’s a travesty they left it off. I know they left it out because of that infamous line he says in it. But given the fact that Warner Bros and others have artists on their label who rap about killing folks, and no one says a word about it, I don’t see the issue. Prince makes one cheeky remark and everyone has the vapors. I don’t get it and I think that alone is a microcosm of everything wrong with our society. Always focused on any and everything but what we need to be focused on. Plenty of people in the grave because of “diss songs,” yet the labels continue to perpetuate and promote that sort of music. Then they wanna censor a genius? I don’t get it. It’s bs! This should have been released, rape line and all. It’s not even said in a derogatory way, it’s extremely sensual as he’s expressing that he will literally do anything to be with this woman. And then the sound goes crazy as he falls into the dark erotic recesses of his mind. This song is a TOTAL trip into his psyche (passion, lust and rage) and shows up everything he ever did before AND after it. And to think he was only 24 at the time. Mayte spoke about the tracks he showed her that he said the world wasn’t ready for. I BET you this was one of them. This is some of his finest work, and he knew it which is why he released some form of it TWICE before he left this planet.

he hated it on UA-cam because they didn't pay him well enough for it. but now there is nobody that made this that will get paid from it in any form that it's released- so who cares? a bunch of lawyers are gonna get paid for another decade handling his court stuff and they're gonna look for ways to make money off his music so they can get paid. it's better if the public can now get it for free. I think if he had to choose between the two- the estate lawyers and some family members he never associated with getting paid or the public having access to his music, he'd choose the latter. those are pretty much the only two choices right now.
I agree with you FunkFight. I believe Prince would rather all his fans have all his great music for free now to enjoy on UA-cam vs all the lawyers and vultures that are out to profit from his music.

Yeah, I get why Prince didn't like his music, videos, concerts & etc. played/aired on UA-cam. Because UA-cam didn't give him an advance payment for his back catalogue to be heard & viewed but that logic really never made any sense to me. For someone like Prince to be so ahead of his time musically, he was so late when it came to the internet & it's huge financial potential. Obviously, more of today's younger generation listens(& watches) to music via UA-cam & other similar sites. So, the more people view his music, videos, concerts, etc., the more money Prince would make. Just like the more people subscribe to Prince & his channels, the more $$$ Prince would make. It's shocking & very surprising nobody from Prince's camp/team would've explained those monetary facts to him. There's a ton of newer younger music lovers who aren't familiar with Prince & his music. One of the best, most popular ways for those potential Prince fans to hear Prince's music & see Prince's videos & concerts is via UA-cam. So, Prince was only hurting himself & his career by not letting UA-cam & other similar sites do what they do best. Stream Music, Advertise, Market, Entertain, Teach & Inform millions of mainstream music lovers/consumers who weren't already familiar with Prince & his amazing musical legacy.
I listened to Prince's song "goodbye" on my phone when my father called in the middle of this song and gave me information about his death. It was magical, like telepathy, I will never forget it. It was like saying goodbye to me ...saying goodbye to a fan, artist, wave of lament...Sign of life after death?
