I'm so sorry that you lost him, that his family lost him, that his friends lost him, and that the world lost him. I am going to tell you that, but I know that it doesn't help. I know that it doesn't fill the void. I know that my words are empty; they're still comforting yet empty words. I know that the void can't be filled. That loss can't be replaced with sympathy or empathy. The hurt can't go away. The tears can't be dried. But... the memories, the acknowledgment, and his true glory can be upheld. Your Ryan isn't forgotten. He won't ever have sun-bleached-fake-flowers around his grave. He'll have new flowers near him because HE WILL BE REMEMBERED. His passing has changed lives. We don't always know the answer to, "Why, God? Why me? Why him? Why this?" We will know the answers someday, though. You both have changed my life, and I'm just so sorry.
