@@1969fata I too live in hungary, no its not a lie and by the way the referendum was not valid, becouse more than 50% of the population gave in an invalid vote becouse of how the question was stated: Do you want your children to be gay? Basically a clearly no question for 99% of the people and dumb af. The main reason why everyone is saying that they control the media is becouse they control all of the free to access media: free television network, and this is very important to mention becouse poverty is not something unfamiliar in this country and thats undebatable. Facebook for example is not free: you have to have internet access which more than 15% of the population doesn't even have... Nevertheless here in the US we are experiencing crazy administration, and once their stupidity is overcome we will be able to help more. There is a cold war all over the Western World. Even Putin said that US now reminds him of the old CCCP (Soviet Union). But stick with it. I am for Hungary, although it is not just a matter of Hungary but a large part of the world. The ideologues have all gone mad and they do not accept the freedom of individual nations. If I had thought years ago that this is what European Union would become I would be warning everyone. Why does it seem so much like Germany, but by other means. The lost the war but they haven't given up on ruling the continent. I used to be a liberal until liberals became the illiberal radical left engaged in thought control which they call education. Economy is not everything, but I would also advise playing games (tricks) with the overly serious EU (here by serious I mean without humor). Humorless people can gather a lot of power but ultimately they are stupid by comparison with people that have humor. If you can, take the EU for a dance. This is my advice to all the Visigrad nations.

It's a very simple argument actually, that matters of relationships should be taught by the parents, and not the school. School is for being educated in the manners of reading, writing, science, history, and mathematics. That's it. School is not about teaching a kind of morality that is brought forth by activists. And it's troubling because activists are indeed trying to push for that, everywhere. They are well aware that if you are able to propagandize at a younger age, a lot of that propaganda will stick with them as they get older. It's intentional. Good for Hungary for recognizing that and standing up while saying "No, you will not indoctrinate our kids with these subversive values which are meaningless and have no long standing core philosophy behind it".

I don't get his problem with understanding how laws work, if the EU court says bend the knee and comply and he holds a referendum that says "no we won't". Then it's irrelevant. Democracy or not. This is as silly as a group of people in their house holding a referendum that committing tax fraud is okay and disregarding a court decision. Hungary joined the EU as a treaty. If they do not wish to be bound to this international globalist treaty then they should leave, treaties ARE laws. All this big man posturing won't change the law even if he is adamant that the EU court is wrong and the losing party's interpretation is correct. Again nonsense. I go to court for a traffic fine and simply disregard the court when I lose is not how courts work, no matter how many elections i hold with my group of friends over it 😂. I know he's putting on a performance for Hungarians here to make Fidesz and Hungary look strong, but I can only see this end with Hungary being ejected from the EU for noncompliance/being out of order. If Hungary doesn't like the gay laws of the EU (can't blame them), Might as well make that referendum about the whether Hungary should leave the EU? That way like the UK they're free to have whatever laws they want.

      Traffic fine it is...
Lets say you must speed every day to get to work in time. You are risking that fine every day and that affects your family income. If your family collectively decides (referendum) that the fines are worth it then you will keep speeding to work.
Problem with you is that you went way ahead... There were no laws broken. And if there were, there was no court decision that hungarians disregarded and as such there were no treaties broken.
You are handing out that speeding ticket for even thinking about speeding...

You are speaking about non-existing things. There are no court decision to make us bend the knee. Dutch prime minister said it to us. But we can't give an actual f*ck what the dutch prime minister says. Moreover EU has no word to tell the states how they raise their children. It's not in the EU regulations at all. Still the EU wants to intervene where they legally can't. That's a scandal. If all of the EU countries would allow gay marriage and allow drag queens to educate kids about sex and only Hungary not it still would be totally okay, you know? By the way, in Hungary same-sex union is allowed by law, gays have every right to live a safe and prosperous life. Period.

I think you are missing the issue that the European Union is an _economic trade union_. Not some form of 'federal government' that oversees all their 'nation states'. None of Hungary's internal laws relating to sex education relate to European trade or economy. Especially not by those bureaucrats in Brussels who were selected/voted in by no one.

You forgetting one thing. The EU was funded to be a financial cooperative. NOT to govern each other countries.
Also Hungary is a sovereign state, which is more than 1000 years old. Respect that.

I am Hungarian and I feel ashamed of our government. When Szíjártó talks about the will of the Hungarian people, then he refers to the "national consultations", which include ridiculous questions and cen not be taken seriously by any rational individual. In this interview he does not answer the questions that he does not want to. And a side note: the EU does not judge Hungary, nor the Hungarian people. It judges the Hungarian government.

Dude. You know that you are an EU citizen? Why don't you move? Move to Sveden or France where the Moroccans will rape you. The choice is yours.
But you might be under 25 and enjoying the tax free earnings. Or the non refundable baby loans. I feel ashamed that you ar Hungarian.
