  • ⛏️⛏️Join me Nige, as I attempt to turn a derelict scrap ridden allotment in South Wales into a productive space⛏️⛏️ . My plot is at the highest point, hence the name of the channel.
Sadly, due to plans for a new school, the allotments that have been in existence for decades are under threat. The possibility of them being built on within the next three years is sad.
I will endevour however to make the best of my time here, however short to turn it back into a productive space. Please join me on my journey.
Advice from experienced allotmenteers most welcome

Thanks for watching. Please like and SUBSCRIBE and hit the bell icon to get notified as and when I upload new content. I'd love for you to follow me as I try to make headway with my new allotment. And remember to just get out there and do a bit. There's nothing better than being outdoors and creating life through growing plants and seedlings, and putting food on the table.
All the best, I'm Nige from Top of The Plots :)

Thats alot of work you got done there. There must be some giant moles round your neck of the woods.
Nice find with that sink. Butter than the toilets I had on mine.

@@topoftheplotshomestead That soil did look good when you were digging it out, those beds should be really productive.
At least the bath and toilet cisterns also left can function as great planters, but I've had worse - on my first plot someone buried a shopping trolley standing upright. Only the handle was above ground - oh that plot had carpets all over it, with 6 inches of soil on top.

@@topoftheplotshomestead It's a family trait. I grew up using anything to hand to hold plants in. My grans yard looked like Alan Titchmarsh had taken over Steptoes scrap yard.
I got that plot into order, beds laid out and planted, fruit bushes in. Then imidiately moved to the other end of the country. I told the council that they had a nice tidy cleared plot planted up to rent out again and they let it sit for almost a year (when they issued me an improvement notice)
