NO ONE in Team PassCode could have imagined _that_ when these early videos were filmed, much less that nearly eight years later they would not only still exist but be set to perform at the Budokan. Amazing.
My first time listening to passcode I definitely recommend listening to one of my favorite Japanese girl groups XG global Japanese girl group but all of their songs are in English

No it's not the same lineup. Yuna is there, but at least one girl from this MV has been switched out. It's hard to find information on early PassCode without actually importing those early singles. They have no wiki page.
At first listen it sounds like 2-3 songs spliced together... but I think if they removed the flute part at 2:18 the song would flow MUCH better. It's just so random and awkwardly timed. Also, lets not be elitists people. Kawaii Metal is still very young and its great to see it growing. Babymetal pioneered this genre sure, but they paved a path for others to follow.

+El Manimal I think it's OK. Long before kawaii metal, bands like 妖精帝國 (Yōsei Teikoku) and 陰陽座 (Onmyo-Za) regularly used elements of Japanese folk music.. I think the flute here has that feel and I don't mind it
That is a strange transition in the song, but I like it. It's a bit wild, puts the song right out there. Passcode seem to like chopping up their songs from what I've heard, not every song needs to be some perfectly written piece that follows all the rules.

I've been a huge fan of Babymetal since 2016 and Yui was my favorite of the trio. She's gone now of course. But, due to Babymetal's slow output, I've been more invested in PassCode. It's basically Babymetal mixed with Perfume …and I love both (have seen both live). I hope to see PassCode live someday.

The genre is Idol Metal (Babymetal's "kawaii metal" falls under that category). It can't be a genre if there's only one band in it (unless you're Primus, only band in the world to have its own ID3 Tag) so of course you'll have similar bands but that's how a scene starts. When Black Sabbath started you ended up with other bands following suit, that's not being a copycat it's just spotting a good style of music that you want to make and that people want.
Philip Whitehead There’s no rule that says a band cannot have their own genre - because for a short time, BM were the only band in the Kawaii-metal genre…… Primus doesn’t really have their own genre per se, since they are considered alternative metal and progressive rock. It’s a mystery how they got their own ID3 tag. Even the band members don’t know how it happened or what it even is. Probably some programmer gave them their own tag because he was a fan of theirs.
