I wrote an entire screenplay because of this song.
Arrived at this song after a drive and hearing Thrit Store Dress on the radio. I had to check out more of Jeffrey Martin. I'm an old dude, a musician and writer. I'm not easily impressed. But here I am.
I recently saw Jeffrey and Anna locally in upstate NY (Galway) in a very small and intimate venue. They were so damn good, together and solo. This kind of music isn't for everyone, but if you enjoy the power of words, nuance, and feeling you just can't do much better than this. I would see them again and again. Looking forward to when they come back to our area.

Yes, Fultonville, near the Fonda speedway.. Jeffrey played recently (Sept 30) downstate in Marlboro, NY opening for Mick Flanagan.. Didn't make that show though..

This is the style of music that remind me of the stuff my step dad listened to. I remember laying near the stereo just listening to every word and chord intently. This reminds me a lot of what Vern Gosdin sang.
Ran across this song after listening to some by The Lucky Valentines. The breadth of meaning in the lyric here keeps me listening to it again and again. Is it about a friend of an addict? Is it about an out of control family member? Is it about someone destroying their marriage? Is it about (sorry, but I hear this for myself) someone seeing the dissolution of their relationship with white Evangelicalism? So many meanings. And beautifully, painfully sad. Thank you.
Just saw Jeffery Wednesday night. He said it was about the wife of a heroin addict. Specifically his neighbor growing up.
