Fun fact: Charisma is f*cking useless. Sure it starts you off with like… 20% of your max bartering and speech, both of which you can raise later anyway. The reason this is an issue is because it’s the only SPECIAL stat that doesn’t add to anything besides your skills: Strength increases your carrying weight, Agility and Perception increases your weapon accuracy, Intelligence increases how many points you can put into skills when you level up, Endurance increases your max HP, and Luck increases the loot you find while exploring as well as your critical hit chance. Charisma does nothing like that, and you can always boost your CHA skills later, so there’s no reason to even put 1 point into Charisma. Charisma is kind of bad in NV because because most related checks actually rely on the speech skill rather than the charisma attribute. There's like two perks (one of which is mostly useless and the other of which is only a little useful in the base game but becomes a lot more useful if you have a mod installed that lets you carry around extra companions) and maybe three or four speech checks that rely on Charisma including flavor interactions with no impact. It does provide a boost to companions but again unless you have a mod that lets you have extra its generally more efficient to put that extra into yourself, and since the effects are so situational you can stack some consumables to get high charisma anyway.

So it autosaved, I die, reload, and die and repeat till I just reloaded to a quicksave I did earlier in the dungeon.
"You can either go full charisma and rizz the pants off of everyone, or you can go just balls to the wall murder" Or of you're anything like me, personally, you can plan out how to get every stat maxed out by straight up abusing game mechanics.
4:53 I made a Strength/Charisma build for my first character. If I can’t smooth-talk my way out of trouble, then I’ll smash my way out with a wrist-mounted engine block (also known as a power fist)
3:23 "that lead added a few wrinkles" [Spoilers for Old World Blues) There's an actual plot point in the Old World Blues dlc that because you got shot in the head, there was a new wrinkle in your brain that the brain bots running Big Mt. thought would help them escape.
4:00 to be fair the world in the fallout series was way more advanced then us before the bombs fell, and then they had about 200 years of time pass after that soooooo it’s not exactly THAT surprising
Funny thing is, anyone who knows anything about Fallout New Vegas knows that you're actually better off dumping Charisma entirely. The reason being, there are no skill checks in the game that rely on Charisma specifically, only skill checks that rely on Barter or Speech, unlike other SPECIAL stats that do have some dedicated checks. While yes, Barter and Speech are improved by your Charisma score, you can just improve them using skill points and get them to 100 that way. So you're better off just maxing out Intelligence and Luck, and taking the Educated perk, which should give you more than enough skill points to eventually max all of your skills out at 100.
There’s like… 2-3 Situations where charisma is used for a skill check. One of which is in the Old World Blues DLC and can be bypassed with the lady-killer perk. (And the female equivalent of it.)

That's the thing about games like Fallout New Vegas and Outer Worlds. Both are filled with major factions that: 1. May or may not have your best interest in mind unless you go full tilt in joining them. 2. Will have serious repercussions for the faction that's against yours as well as some environmental changes if it gets bad enough. 3. Will have some good, well-meaning people sprinkled somewhere in them if bad or some fucking horrific monstrosities to civilization if good.
For a less comedic but more in-depth video about New Vegas, Hbomberguy's "Fallout: New Vegas is Genius and Here's Why" does a great job of breaking down the difference in writing and choices between Bethesda and Obsidian. 41:30 Funny bit of trivia about Bethesda and Obsidian: Bethesda offered Obsidian a bonus if New Vegas scored an 85 on metacritic. New Vegas went on to score 84, no bonus was had, a lot of people thought Bethesda should pay them the bonis anyway, considering it likely would've scored higher if they'd been given more than just a year and a half to make this game. Anyway, flash forward to the release of Starfield, which is not holding up to scrutiny at all. It's rated below New Vegas on metacritic. And, ironically, Obsidian's own "Fallout in Space" game, The Outer Worlds, scored an 85.

Really sad how I tried to play this about a year ago on PC but even with mods I couldn't get it stable. Softlocked constantly on loading screens and I just gave up when Tabitha wouldn't spawn on Black Mountain and thus meant I couldn't get Raul.
I play this game at least once every year, just like Final Fantasy Tactics. Would definitely recommend a spread of bug fixes and optimization mods for it today, just to get the thing running butter smooth. After that, it's just about preferences, but the basic fixes, unofficial patches and optimization and performance mods are nearly essential today. This game is fantastic without much new content being added, just nice to have the options. Also, worth noting, a lot of the interactions Badger had were sour because he had sub-brick intelligence and almost no social skills, so communicating with him was super annoying for the NPCs, you get different dialogue options and reactions for things like that.
While I'm not complaining but what is it with youtube only recommending me English vtubers? Is my watch history telling me something about myself that I don't know... I'm actually watching this while playing Fallout 4 ( I was playing Kh2, but that's not important to my current situation). My play though stats are maxing out charisma and intelligence and putting the rest into perception because I'm playing it with a mod involving a fob watch which I found and now I'm off to go find a big blue box
The Charisma SPECIAL is pretty useless in new vegas, the speech skill on the other is the epitome of broken charisma builds, dump it down and put level up points into speech instead (intelligence increases the amount skill points on level up by the way)
Ah new vagas the place where you kill everybody in a building just to get a bit of sleep.😂 Honestly the dlcs are great they have there own little story to tell.
"why should I play it after watching this?" simple: choices. there are four main endings to the game and SEVERAL variations to the game's epilogue depnding how certian questlines and story beats you resolve, a lot of which the video doesn't even acknowledge or reference let alone show (hell, it doesn't even mention the party memebrs you cna recruit to travel with you throughout the game and fight at your side and THEIR questlines) and there are TONS of ways you cna resolve everything if you have the rigth build. Russian badger only gives a look at ONE path in the game where you side with the blatant villains of the story, but you cna obviously opt to do a different path and have a more balanced build or one more based around speech and sneaking and other things.
Im of the mind that if you unironically side with the legion youre probably a sociopath. Even more so if you try to justify it. And thats ignoring badger basically being a murderhobo. Btw being a murderhobo is the worst way to play any rpgs and I'll fight anybody on that hill
Yeah, the legion is kinda fuckin’ awful. They are explicitly the “evil route.” Rome was a complex civilization, but all the legion took from them was the slavery, the fashion sense, and butchered Latin. In every other respect, they’re literally a “civilization” of murderhobos with delusions of grandeur. Plus, they’re just assholes in general. I can never get through Nipton without reflexively removing Vulpes’ smug ass smirk with a shotgun. I tend to agree with Boone when it comes to the legion: we’re just a couple of problem solvers, see.
The fact Bethesda is actually terrified of the fact the fans want a sequel to new vegas, (Aka new vegas 2) shows they know Obsidian can make a better fallout game then they can is hilarious. At this point you might as well as it would free up your hands for another project if you get obsidian to do new vegas 2 while your focused on Elder scrolls 6 or something. Personally i want a sequel myself because the endings of each faction intrigue me and i wanted to see how they wpuld follow up the story whether your the same character as the previous game or a new person entirely. The legion retreat ending very much sounds like a possibility for a sequel if your sided with the NCR based on the legates speech. I won't go into details about it but all i can say is the creators of New Vegas thought of almost everything you could possibly do in most areas of the game. There is at least 10-15 different scenarios for most quests, honestly why i consider it an S tier fallout game creativity for the win!.
My playthrough…. In any Fallout or RPG is Charisma, Intelligence, Agility basically. I balance out the others later or in other ways so I’m not weak asf the whole time. Also the NCR is meh, the Legion are crazy, and House is a dictator wanting ultimate power that can spark a war amongst the other factions instead of just staying neutral. So I took Vegas and made peace with all factions becoming the Sweden of Vegas

It does provide a boost to companions but again unless you have a mod that lets you have extra its generally more efficient to put that extra into yourself, and since the effects are so situational you can stack some consumables to get high charisma anyway.
HELL YEAH!!!!
I loved this video so much, thank you for reacting to this!!!
Whenever i've played this game (And i've played a Crap Ton of it in the past) i've actually never gotten the NCR, Legion or Mr House ending, i've always Always *ALWAYS* taken the Yes Man route.
And there is a lil hidden area you can only access if you repaired the lil floating droid ball in the first town you come across, which gives you a quest that takes you to a nuke infested area, in where at the end, you have fully functional nuclear missiles, and you get a choice, Dismantle the nukes, Launch at the NCR or Legion, or my favorite option, BOTH!...I always pick Both.
I didn't think you'd need Ed-E repaired to enter the Divide for the Lonesome Road DLC, And I also used to just take the Yes Man route, but later found it boring and stale after a while.
@@Gearhead66 Well i might be misremembering but i'm pretty certain you needed ED-E repaired to access it.
Just like how you need to interact with the satellite to access Old World Blues.
As for Yes Man Route going stale, yea i suppose, but honestly, i found the other route to be pretty stale from the get go, so not much of an improvement when wanting to change things up.
@@ForemostCrab7 Just looked it up to be certain, you don't need ED-E to start the DLC, just like every other DLC, it's available as soon as you start the game, with all those pop ups at the beginning. And with OWB and the satellite, that's the same for every DLC too technically, there's always something or someone you need to interact with to start the DLC.
the true minmax is 10 luck. walk into a casino, button mash slot machine, walk out with 10k caps
edit: i cannot BELIEVE i never noticed Mr. House was voiced by René Auberjonois. RIP to a real one 😢

I'm sorry but nothing could sound as unhinged to me as "I could turn into the Ronald Reagan of this universe and enslave everyone into a communist dictatorship." Like ah yes. Reagan. Noted communist.
39:00 I got into a similar problem in Skyrim of all places with my Vampire Lord, I was really low on HP and I didn't keep track of time so I stepped out of a dungeon in broad daylight and lost 100 hp while I had like 30 or so left. So it autosaved, I die, reload, and die and repeat till I just reloaded to a quicksave I did earlier in the dungeon.
That's vegas baby
"You can either go full charisma and rizz the pants off of everyone, or you can go just balls to the wall murder"
Or of you're anything like me, personally, you can plan out how to get every stat maxed out by straight up abusing game mechanics.
The implant station is a personal favorite stomping ground of mine
This was an awesome video and I agree with Badger on hating the NCR because nothing is as evil as TAXES. Also I really love your clown nose.
4:53 I made a Strength/Charisma build for my first character. If I can’t smooth-talk my way out of trouble, then I’ll smash my way out with a wrist-mounted engine block (also known as a power fist)
3:23 "that lead added a few wrinkles"
[Spoilers for Old World Blues)
There's an actual plot point in the Old World Blues dlc that because you got shot in the head, there was a new wrinkle in your brain that the brain bots running Big Mt. thought would help them escape.
The curse of having pattern recognition, able to call out moments seconds before disastar
4:00 to be fair the world in the fallout series was way more advanced then us before the bombs fell, and then they had about 200 years of time pass after that soooooo it’s not exactly THAT surprising
btw Benny was Voiced by Matthew Perry.
37:59 About that......
53:43: Ho.....mama..... That is a Big badonkers.
(And the female equivalent of it.)
when I finished this game, by finish I mean every dlc and main game I had 140+ hours XD
The ion cannon thing is archemedes 2 its a enclave suoer weapon created by posidon compony the same compony that made the enclaves bases and computers
14:20 mentioning Ronald Reagan there made absolutely no sense
Ah yes, the bloody mess perk is always a funny surprise, not every kill you get will result in it, but it’s always nice to get one that is
The people who only found this person because of badger XD
Fun fact the bullet makes you the perfect lobotomite in one of the DLC😂
Better go grab me a snack and some drinks, because we got ourselves a chatterbox reactor! Nobody can say that it isn't transformative if you flap your gums! XD
CLOWN NOSE PART 2???
Also wanna make a part 2 of thanking you for being an amazing person to look up to. You’re awesome. Thank you.
That's the thing about games like Fallout New Vegas and Outer Worlds. Both are filled with major factions that:
NcR: chaotic good(?)
Mr. House: Lawful neutral
Legion: lawful evil
Yes Man: True neutral
This game has over 120 weapons, choice consequences, realistic factions and endings
Does anybody know where those 40k alert animations come from? I want to watch that video, it seems hilarious.
"don't taunt me, gecko!"
MMD VIP Reaction when
Respsonist : hand all your wepon
Me : (hold) sure here you go
Respsonist : alright you can go
Me : alright so they did not find (4 mini gun loaded) (5 m16) (5 nuke) (59 m1 garand) (46 clock) (9000 stick bomb) that all youpi!!!!!
Really sad how I tried to play this about a year ago on PC but even with mods I couldn't get it stable. Softlocked constantly on loading screens and I just gave up when Tabitha wouldn't spawn on Black Mountain and thus meant I couldn't get Raul.
9:15 “bill Clinton”
I think that might be John Fortnite Kennedy
Ah what the hell bring on more like it and I'll end up watching more. :3
Edit: Alright I'm an idiot. UA-cam recommended me something different and I'm still not complaining
can confirm the max amount of mods you can install is 10789
8:45 Then you're going to *LOVE* the Cazadores
8:01 Just sayin' this now; Wild Wasteland is *non-negotiable* - if you don't immediately pick Wild Wasteland when you play New Vegas, you're not playing New Vegas right. Period. Or quite possibly exclamation point. Am I right, people?!
You might knock British healthcare because you might die because of overcrowding, but
Imagine paying to maybe die to overcrowding
20:53 well yes, but also no therussianbadger animated everything in sfm the ncr dude is a workshop model it literally a gmod character put in a ncr outfit
14:30 outer WILDS was not made by obsidian outer worlds was. its upsetting cause they came out at like exactly the same time
Fun fact: Danny Trejo voiced Raul Tejada in this game and it’s great.
3:30 legit the wrinkle added to the couriers brain is cool
ive herd that it bothers tod so much that the most loved Fallout is the one that owned but not produced by Bethesda, that it inspired what happened to vegas in the prime show.
29:25 hey here's a hint to help with learning basic media literacy: every piece of fiction is a commentary on the real world. Yes, even the Bearenstain bears and The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time.
thats john f kennedy not bill clinton thats the kennedy assassination joke
What's ironic is Badge was throwing aspersions on the old innkeeper for selling someone into slavery. Yet, he is Pro-Legion. 🤷♂️
1:36 nonono so the great thing about fallout 3 and new Vegas is they were both so good that you didnt need to mod them at all to make them worth playing. I have never modded new Vegas and I have only modded some textures in 3 and I still hop on them at least once a year
who is gonna tell here that new vegas has a dlc that allows you to nuke both the ncr and the legion
I'm actually watching this while playing Fallout 4 ( I was playing Kh2, but that's not important to my current situation). My play though stats are maxing out charisma and intelligence and putting the rest into perception because I'm playing it with a mod involving a fob watch which I found and now I'm off to go find a big blue box
wait this isn't the first time i heard about who plays New Vegas falls in a category of people? what does that mean? lol
Lord death of murder mountain
The Charisma SPECIAL is pretty useless in new vegas, the speech skill on the other is the epitome of broken charisma builds, dump it down and put level up points into speech instead (intelligence increases the amount skill points on level up by the way)
i've never been able to, but i want to know what happens if you save benny from the legion... either with or without mr.house still in play...
Funny vid. Also, no way you were serious when you said Bill Clinton right? Cause that's Kennedy...
Ah new vagas the place where you kill everybody in a building just to get a bit of sleep.😂 Honestly the dlcs are great they have there own little story to tell.
Female Legion playthough for the win
"why should I play it after watching this?"
simple: choices. there are four main endings to the game and SEVERAL variations to the game's epilogue depnding how certian questlines and story beats you resolve, a lot of which the video doesn't even acknowledge or reference let alone show (hell, it doesn't even mention the party memebrs you cna recruit to travel with you throughout the game and fight at your side and THEIR questlines) and there are TONS of ways you cna resolve everything if you have the rigth build.
Russian badger only gives a look at ONE path in the game where you side with the blatant villains of the story, but you cna obviously opt to do a different path and have a more balanced build or one more based around speech and sneaking and other things.
When Makari uses a deep voice it gives me feelings 😳
I tend to agree with Boone when it comes to the legion: we’re just a couple of problem solvers, see.
...does Mr. House count as a vtuber?
Now you need to watch Mikeburnfire play Fallout New Vegas Co-Op with all the mods. Watch Mike and Zack play all the mods made for New Vegas together.
... is this our opportunity to offer high-field insults to makari?
I have 7,000 hours in Skyrim....
11:20
Pot calling the Kettle black
My playthrough…. In any Fallout or RPG is Charisma, Intelligence, Agility basically. I balance out the others later or in other ways so I’m not weak asf the whole time. Also the NCR is meh, the Legion are crazy, and House is a dictator wanting ultimate power that can spark a war amongst the other factions instead of just staying neutral. So I took Vegas and made peace with all factions becoming the Sweden of Vegas
