There is a new pathway open now which takes in much more coast with sea views - worth another video for that

Thanks for watching and for the update. I have now moved to the highlands of Scotland, so it's quite a way for a new video!

This wasn't one of my favourite sections of the bits I've down so far of the SWCP!

Yes, it lacks the sea views and spends too much time under tree cover.

      Completed it today,
and one of my least favourite sections of the south west coastal path-could not wait for it to end.

Could you tell me how long it took you to run that 7mile (approx) section and what if you were taking a
    1. Relaxed or relatively leisurely pace 2. A fast hike
And what would you say is the difficulty level? What are the gradients like? Lots of steps? walking sticks would be recommended? Boots necessary or good trekking shoes perfectly fine. Would you recommend this section to those who wouldn't really describe themselves as walkers? Would the route in reverse be any easier? Thanks

Hi, It took me about 90 minutes to run (one way - 7 miles). You would probably be looking at walking it (one way) in about 3 and a half hours at a relaxed pace, maybe 3 hours at a faster hiking pace? There is about 500m ascent in total and lots of steps, some sections are quite steep. The path was quite good so no boots required just a good pair of shoes. Navigation was fairly easy, good signs and not many side trails. Walking sticks are a very personal thing, if you regularly use them, then take them. As for recommending the trail; while there were sections with good views, most of the time was in tree cover with absolutely no view of the sea! If you are looking for a coastal walk with sea view then this is not it! On a very hot day it's nice to have the shade of the trees though! The route would be about the same difficulty in both directions...the same amount of ascent and descent as you are starting and finishing at sea level. If you are not really a walker, then 500m ascent is quite a lot, you may be better to find a more level walk and with better/more views. Hope that helps!
