But, knowing how to do these things, even if we won’t be able to practise the full stack project, is still great.
That excitement and pride in your wife's reaction paid you off. I don't care if you're a great craftsman, you're a blessed guy with a beautiful family.
Ok, first of all I teared up at the beginning when you said that you weren't just making something for your wife, but something the baby will enjoy as well. Tell me you didn't see your adult daughter rocking her baby in that moment. Second, your wife is really lucky and so is your baby.
I feel like your "after thought" editions will also hold the weaving in place as support to the staples. Well done. Congratulations on your baby. Yes, you still have to change diapers.😆
This ROCKS! It really does. I loved the reaction your wife had when she first saw this awesome chair. I'm sure she'll get a lot of use out of it. Congratulations, you two have a beautiful baby.
Wow! That came out so well! I love the woven aspect of it. And yes, I watched to the end. Your wife's reaction was great. You are a keeper as we.say in the UK. It means that she should definitely keep hold of you coz you are a great man and great husband. Congratulations on the birth of your little girl. She's gorgeous bless her! God bless you all, and all those you know and love. Have a great week!
"So the last thing I built for Katie was that red oak king sized bed. Which we really enjoy" and now a baby announcement. I see what you did there... 😂
What a fabulous build. And the amount of time it must have taken to do all the weaving too. Great job and congrats on your new arrival. This definitely rocks.
This Rocks. what a beautiful chair. Also, we're proud of you Jonny. I love how you're always trying new things, It really puts you above the rest of the wood workers out there.
This rocks! The chair is so beautiful. And congrats to newborn baby girl. Love from Slovenia, the only country that have a LOVE in its name: sLOVEnia. Vanda
Awe!!! Congratulations to you and your wife on your beautiful baby girl!!! Great job mom! And she's lucky to have her hubby make her such a great chair for her and baby to enjoy for decades really. Maybe Lilly will rock her baby in this chair!! I can totally see that!!
Congrats on the beautiful baby girl. Love, love, love the colors on the chair and the weaving was awesome. It all looks so good together. Thanks so much for sharing.
This Rocks! I couldn’t even begin to tell you how many things would’ve went wrong with me making both of the things that you mention in this video! Best ventures forth in your journey as a father!❤
Easter egg at 8:40 band-aid on the back of tour right hand. And now the Important comment! 🤩Good job on the chair build Jonny! But an even better job building that gorgeous baby!😍
Yes Sir, this does, indeed, rock! In more ways than one. 😉 While I, personally, wouldn't have chosen those colors for the chair, it's still gorgeous. 😍 Well done and congratulations on the baby! 😁👍
Hello! I just stumble across your channel, I’m gleaning over UA-cam’s woodworking channels for inspiration and that rocking chair is amazing! At first I wasn’t sure I’d like the design, but the weaving is what sold it for me. Congrats on your baby (I know she’s a few months old now 😅) seeing your wife’s reaction is, as others mentioned, priceless. All that work and hours you put in are nothing compared to what we do for our loved ones!
Lol cool to see you drinking liquid death! (8:03) I kept the can of the one I bought cause the designs are so cool!! The chair came out wonderful, you’re so skilled! Glad your wife loved it, im sure it will last a long time! Edit: I think I found the Easter egg! It’s a grimace at 13:44!!!
Great project. My dad bought my mom her pregnancy/nursing rocker but he did good. She still has it 49 years later and it's like it was brand new. Love Katie's reaction and huge congratulations my friend 🎉
THIS ROCKS! I love the patterns on the sides, and the weaving turned out really good 👍 I’m a Danish viewer, and I didn’t even know it’s called Danish cord weaving. Thank you for sharing 🙂
Beautiful chair, great vid! I just watched a different tool tops video the other day. They placed tape down first then glued the "plywood blocks" down on the tape. Used to clamp the joints together. Once pulled together and glue dried, he just pulled it all off with tape. Nothing to knock off etc. Thought this might be a tip that might help in the future... Thanks again for the great videos!
Ultimately it doesn't matter what we think. The one who matters already gave her opinion. That being said, it's infinitely more special to her, and likewise your daughter, because YOU made it! YOU put in the details, and so forth, and that makes it special to both of them. YOU put the care in, the time, the effort, the planning. That all being said, for what it IS worth, you did amazingly well with it! You showed that prototyping really IS a good idea, and well worth doing. That is WELL worth the time and materiels it takes to do it, since it can show you things that you didn't think of prior.
This rocks!!! Its beautiful, and it's something your family can have as long as it lasts. Our family has a horse rocker my great grandfather actually made it in 1901. The younger generation want take it because they all say it's creepy, so I keep it until it makes a comeback.
Congrats on the kiddo. Mine are 19 and 22, and I cannot imagine having another one. But Lily is beautiful. I remember when we had my youngest, my wife was in nursing school, working full time and had clinicals. I did all the cooking, cleaning, laundry, child care... all of it. I woke up more than once in the rocking chair holding Jack with the empty bottle. Rocking chairs... well, the rock. That one looks comfortable, too. This rocks.
I am so glad the finished rocker didn't crack when she first sat down, like the prototype did for you. It's a beautiful chair. Congratulations on the baby, too.
As an artist and builder... I can see the love that went into that. You are probably a pretty alright dude IRL, I bet. You could tell SHE loved it, too.
Looks nice. I prefer to have the front of the rocker curve extend past the upright so it can be used as a foot rest. You are then able to rock with one leg or the other.
I think I would have put a stop knob on the back of the rocker to prevent it from tipping backwards. Looks really good, though. I may use that weave for a seat I'm repairing.

Was about to say the same thing.
Beautiful family. You guys are all blessed
Her reaction is absolutely priceless. Well done Jonny, well done! Thank you for sharing this kind of intimate moment with us.
Agreed
I feel like your "after thought" editions will also hold the weaving in place as support to the staples. Well done. Congratulations on your baby. Yes, you still have to change diapers.😆
😂😂😂
Yes!
😂😂😂😂😂
To the diapers!
The rocking chair is beautiful, but the baby is a masterpiece. Congrats on your new family member.
This ROCKS! It really does. I loved the reaction your wife had when she first saw this awesome chair. I'm sure she'll get a lot of use out of it.
Congratulations, you two have a beautiful baby.
Not only was that a good looking Rocker, but that was a sweet gift for your wife & new baby!

This Rocks 2:02 Flashback to Benjamin Martin in the Patriot. Should have popped that scene in. Lot of good bits on Woodworking in that movie.
missed a great oppurtunity to re-enact it when the chair broke also lol
Yes someone else thought of it
"So the last thing I built for Katie was that red oak king sized bed. Which we really enjoy" and now a baby announcement.
I see what you did there... 😂
That rocking chair is now an heirloom. Your daughter will keep this chair with her for her whole life, just because YOU made it. Well done.
The best thing about the chair is that it rocks! Seems like your wife loves it, so that’s awesome. The weave pattern was pretty cool, too.
Just needs a rocking foot stool to match and it’ll be perfect for the nursery. It’s beautiful ❤
Just adorable! Oh, and the chair’s nice, too! 😊
This rocks! The chair is so beautiful. And congrats to newborn baby girl. Love from Slovenia, the only country that have a LOVE in its name: sLOVEnia. Vanda

This rocks! Congratulations on the new family member! 💜 My wife is due in December ☺️ Can’t wait!
This rocks. Katie is going to make a great mom. And you did amazing on the rocker.
Yes Sir, this does, indeed, rock! In more ways than one. 😉 While I, personally, wouldn't have chosen those colors for the chair, it's still gorgeous. 😍 Well done and congratulations on the baby! 😁👍
Congratulations on your new baby! This project reminded me of my uncle, who used to restore lawn furniture using macramé. It lasts forever, really.
Hello! I just stumble across your channel, I’m gleaning over UA-cam’s woodworking channels for inspiration and that rocking chair is amazing! At first I wasn’t sure I’d like the design, but the weaving is what sold it for me.

This rocks Jonny. Very impressed and probably my favorite of your builds. Congrats on baby Lily. You and your wife have started an amazing journey.
Congratulations,! This baby is your best work,! And you are a great craftsman
it makes me so happy seeing how in love with the chair she is! awesome video
I absolutely love this rocker! The after thoughts there were an nice finishing touch.
For a future weavingproject, i recommend using a bent pianostring. That way you can pull the string through with it. make it a bit easier :)
Aww! 💗 Good Job Dad! No, it does not make you even. 😆 It will get a lot of use and someday Lily will say "This Rocks!"
Your wife and daughter are gorgeous! Wish you the best in your life!
Are you kidding me, this chair is gorgeous & I love the color combination. Great job.❤
Looks beautiful! A piece of art and something to keep in the family. It's so nice, it'll be a shame when the baby inevitably stains it!
Lol cool to see you drinking liquid death! (8:03) I kept the can of the one I bought cause the designs are so cool!!

Amazing work and congratulations on your new born daughter. That rocker will last a lifetime!!!
Good job Dad! Nothing more special than making something for those special to you!

It's all about racking up bonus points with her. You did well.

I think it was also a nice idea to use the macrame as it's a soft seat and back and not so hard which is good for things like using it for the baby.
Was the egg at 7:08? The label on the blue equipment? This rocks!!
Congrats on the kiddo. Mine are 19 and 22, and I cannot imagine having another one. But Lily is beautiful. 🙏🙏🙏
Hey I've got my own Lily! She's 11 now. 6 girls and 1 boy, so my life is full of love! Enjoy each day with your little Lily!
Congratulations to both of you. Nice job on the rocker too. This Rocks!
OMGS.... Beautiful!! "It Rocks" for sure!
Awe!!! What a great hubby
The chair is very beautiful and I don’t think the wood covering the mechanics of the weave looks bad at all. I think it looks makes it look finished.
I am so glad the finished rocker didn't crack when she first sat down, like the prototype did for you. It's a beautiful chair. Congratulations on the baby, too.
Congratulations on the birth of your daughter! What a wonderful gift to make your wife!!!❤
13:11 love the Dan Flashes reference lol!!
Props to you! The design is great. Super High End, but simple.
Great job. Those strips covering staples will also reinforce the cord from pulling loose.
*Gorgeous labor of love. A true gift!*
Congratulations on the birth of your beautiful daughter!
Beautiful rocker and such a loving thoughtful perfect gift…
I'm honestly more impressed with your rendition of Bridge Over Troubled Waters, stunning!
The best part is right at the end… I wish I could build something like that for my wife and daughter.
This Rocks!!
You nailed it. Such a beautiful gift ❤️
This rocks my world and our baby! Thank you so much!

This rocks, your wife's reaction says it all, great video!
That is amazing. Your very creative 👍🏽 congratulations on the new baby 🎉
This totally rocks. Congratulations on the newest princess to your family. Big 10/04 on this one brother.
I love all your furniture that you have built so far. Excellent Job 🎉
I saw the egg at 5:32. Bottom right it is golden and a cage is holding the egg upright
14:31 cc thank you
You get even by being a loving and forgiving father ❤
This rocks. That’s a sweet creation. Nice chair too.
The wood part is amazing but that weaving really sets it off!
Love the rocker, a little jealous, wish I had it with my son, he mostly loved sleeping in my arms compared to the crib.
This rocks! Beautiful work and she loved it! Awesome job 😊

Congratulations on your beautiful daughter. Nice work on the rocker.
Love the design of this! Would be open to purchasing the base design files from you so I could have someone make the base for me!
You slayed that build my friend. Great job. 👊🏼
I think I would have put a stop knob on the back of the rocker to prevent it from tipping backwards. Looks really good, though. I may use that weave for a seat I'm repairing.
