I've never seen such a beautifully structured presentation within such a short time. Congrats for great job, sir and respect from Myanmar. Waiting for newer better ones ...
We were taught an alternative way to remember them , and that is through the rule of exceptions. 1st Generation - All of them are CEPH except FAD, FAZ (Cefadroxil, Cefazolin) 2nd Generation - All of them are CEF followed by a Vowel except PRO and META (Cefprozil and Cefmetazole) 3rd Generation - All of them are CEF followed by a Consonant except FIX, PERA, TAX (Cefixime, Cefoperazone, Cefotaxime) P.S. I noticed that there are some differences when it comes to the first generation cephalosporins (Some of them can be CEF or CEPH) so I think Dr. Gulati's approach is so helpful :) Thank you so much!
best review ever....where are the professors in my training programs? they can't teach anything...Claforan, Keflex..all I ever heard about in a surgery residency
Thank you! That makes so much sence :) what does not make sence to me though is the exeptiones. is there a reason behind it? and if not why don´t they change the names of them?
Thank you very much!!! And to add some more: The order of the word cephalosporin is similar to the endings you pointed out as well: CePHalOsPoRin. I hope that make sense xD
What I do not know is what is "Generation" itself? does it mean that 1st generations were created 1st, 2nd generation and so forth? Please elaborate....thx
Wow, I never knew this is as easy as this, all my life during my medical school. Thank you for contributing to our success!
