The newly launched Nothing Ear 2 has been priced at Rs 9999 while the OnePlus Buds 2 was launched at a little higher price of Rs 11999. Let's look at both of these earphones and understand which one is suited the best for you depending on your needs.
Battery - When we look at the Battery, Nothing claims 36 hours of battery while OnePlus claims 39 hours and this is based on the charging from the Case that makes us enjoy the earphones for a longer time. Honestly I haven't noticed anything different but felt similar battery on both while both of them support Wireless Charging.
Fast Charging - Nothing Ear 2 - Get 8 hours of music playback in just 10 minutes with the case, while OnePlus Buds 2 offers fast charging for an additional 10 hours of listening time in just 10 minutes, again quite close.
Water Resistance - Both the Products offer IP54 for buds, IP55 for case
Sound Quality - Nothing Ear (2) comes with an 11.6mm custom driver which offers a very good sound experience but honestly I felt the OnePlus Buds 2 with 11mm woofer and 6mm tweeter dual drivers had offered a slightly better base and overall sound experience. This is based on listening to music and answering calls on both for a longer time frame. In fact both of them support Dolby Atmos music and you can only experience the same by trying them out.
Application - Nothing X is the app that you need for the Ear 2 that comes with some interesting features that I would totally recommend to try them out when using them for the first time. It's the Personal sound personalisation which once setup would give you a better experience when compared to what you get out of the box. When we look at the OnePlus Buds 2, you don't need a separate app when using with the OnePlus phones but when you use them with any other Android phone, you need to download the HeyMelody app. The Bluetooth settings itself gives you all the functions and this is where you see the Hi-Res mode to play audio in high resolution.
Conclusion - Overall with very similar features and closer price point, I think there isn't much of a difference in both the products but then depending on the style / looks you can consider one of these. As mentioned I preferred the OnePlus Buds 2 sound experience though at a little lower price, I felt the Ear 2 is also a good enough product and there cannot be just one winner. For some reason, I felt the fit on OnePlus Buds 2 was also better but the looks of the Ear 2 is something that pulls the attention. In short the OnePlus Buds 2 is a better earphone while Ear 2 is an upgrade from the Ear 1 and now these earphones have come to a stage where they almost offer everything equally.

If there was not a budget issue I would go with Nothing out of these two because OnePlus as a brand is losing its value these days, atleast from my perspective.

Got the Oneplus buds pro a year ago,bass is probably the best I’ve heard on any tws, it’s deep rich n thumping and as a bass head I’m highly satisfied but facing a major battery issue after a year where the buds don’t last more than 1-1.5 hrs, I’ll still get Oneplus buds pro 2 just for that bass but OP should take these quality issues seriously
