Good interview, and for me one of the only times I’ve heard Nic speak, so thank you. As a guitarist I’ve wanted to emulate his percussive style, so it was great to hear his advice: don’t tickle it, hit it!
I love this interview. So wonderful to hear Nic doing so well. Penguin Eggs is one the greatest folk albums of all time. I never got to see nic live so i enjoy his records like everyone else. What a blessing to have him with us and for you to get to speak to him. I put him right up there with dylan, paul brady, john martyn and bert jansh and richard thompson. Much love from ireland! You are a treasure.
Nic is one of my favourite artists. Lovely to hear his speaking voice having listened to his songs for so many years. I put him alongside Paul Simon and James Taylor in the feeling he communicates through voice and guitar.
I knew Nic, just before his accident. He was a member of March Chess Club along with me and my father. Being a punk I wasn't too taken with his style of playing - now of course I recognise the pure talent that he had and wish I had made more of knowing him - he once offered to give me a lesson but like an eejit I turned him down!! His infectious cheeky personality shines through on the recording. Great guy.
I've not heard this before. Nic has always cracked me up! He is a complete loon! A very clever and funny man. Ridiculously talented, although he wouldn't say so. And really lovely to hear Julia's voice.❤
