Nice to the point video , getting ready to do my 03 S10 ext. Cab , thanks for the info , it's a lot of help knowing which wire is positive and negative , thanks.👍👍
My 01 s10 if fried in the sound department my top right dash speaker ig you could call it is the last one working both doors have quit I will be replacing them soon
Dark Blue usually is +, Light Blue is -, but you can always test it by putting a 9v batter on the old speaker leads to see which direction the speaker will "pop" out to validate your polarity.
I have a 2000 Blazer and was planning to remove my 2 small dash tweeters and install a pair of 2-way 4 x 6 speakers in the dash...I have read that I will need to cut out the in line capacitors ( bass blockers ) or the 4 x 6 speakers will not not have any bass ..... can you tell me how your speaker replacement project went and what exactly you did about the bass blockers ...thanks
How to remove the actual housing of the original speaker? It came with a replacement housing too w my new speaker and can’t figure out how to remove rivets
I need some help so my speakers are out of phase and I am stumped as to what colors and +/- are what for the speakers in a 1998 blazer 4 door LS all 4 doors are whacked. Could you help me identify them? So I can get my phases correct?
Does it matter if when buying new speakers if they are higher wattage like a 225 or 300 when doing this? Will they still work as long as they are the same size? What wattage were the pioneers you put in? Thanks!
Thanks for thevideo! Do yu have one on the rear speakers on a 2 door blazer by chance? Not looking forward to tackling that without researching it first orni may never get all that plastic back on the same way 😆
So I bought 6.5 jvc coaxial speakers very similar to yours. Thing is the speakers didn't come with adapter harnesses. So would it be possible to attach AWG clam female connectors to the exsisting wires. Kinda like you did with the butt connectors but instead of the butt connectors with extra wire and the female connectors at the end, just attach the female connectors directly to the exsisting stock wires after cutting off the old speaker connector
Sure can, just be sure to connect positive to positive, and negative to negative and you should be just fine wiring female spade connectors directly to the factory wiring.
How can you find the polarity of the wires? I have a 2002 S-10 and both dash along with the door speakers have very different wire colors. They no longer have the stock harnesses attached.
No they say 6 1/2 are the replacement speaker but my 2000 sonoma has 6" speakers & i drove it off the lot brand new so i believe that the site he got the speakers from will fit but they are not 6 1/2, there is no possible way mine are larger than 6" physically impossible lol
@@ProvoBeastAudio i have a 2000 gmc sonoma & its exactly the same as the S10 so why is all the literature on these vehicles saying the door speakers are 6 1/2" when in fact they are 6" ? i dont care how you slice, dice & measure it they are all 6" all day long! the housing they mount to is only 5 3/4 ID, no knock on you but ill bet $ the speaker you pulled out is 6" OD just curious bc i found those speakers you installed before i seen this video except i was just going to get the $11 ea ones lol so i just want to make sure they will fit bc 6" speakers are hard to find!
Parts used linked in the description of the video!
Thank you so much. Your tutorial was straight to the point, helped me with removing my panel on my 2000 S10 Blazer.
The handle retention clips are easy to remove with a shop rag. I have the tool, but if a a rag is closer I just use that.
Doing mine in my 98 this week. Been a minute so great descriptive refresher. Thanks!
Sorry for the old crappy content. Next time we do an S10, we will update this footage. Hopefully it is still useful.
Turns out I had to add a amp to power 6 speakers and I wired them in series to the 6x4 dash speakers so what you were saying worked out! Thanks again!
Thanks for this tutorial. I love AVENGED SEVENFOLD, since I heard Coming Home in the background
Wow thanks. Super get to the point. I love it. thanks for showing us this!

Fucking hell can't get the damn clip from behind the window crank off
For my passenger speaker the wire colors are dark blue and light blue. Which one is what?? Thanks!

How about a video showing removal of rear door panels on an 01 Sonoma? Please?
must say great video well done
What are the measurements of the speakers you put in?
How to remove the actual housing of the original speaker? It came with a replacement housing too w my new speaker and can’t figure out how to remove rivets
When in doubt, drill it out.
My 96 s10 uses 6 in door speakers instead of 6.5??
I got a question, how do you find the speaker wires on the inside to splice to an amp?
Just use the wires at the stereo harness and pull the stereo wiring diagram. Connecting to those will be easy as they lead to each speaker.

Garbage video, doesn’t show removing the panel. With all those items removed the door panel still won’t come off
