I'm Japanese. When this stage started in the West End, I watched this stage at the Hakata Theater in Japan. I'm happy to share the excitement of this stage with you. As far as I can see from the video, Chihiro is played by Mone. She is a very popular actress in Japan.
I just saw this on Saturday for my 21st birthday and it was so amazing! My mum and I loved it, especially the stink spirit part for me! It was so cool sitting in the upper circle for that when the puppet flew up to the front of our section ! The orchestra was so amazing, the music surprisingly made me tear up a-lot. Very glad you enjoyed it Sam !! 💗
We went all the way from Poland on 2nd of May. Tickets were so expensive, but it was worth every penny! Show is amazing and my first thought was actually: "I want to see it again. Tomorrow maybe?". Thanks for this upload, as it brings back the experience. Only thing I regret is not buying the pin. I did not notice it. But I have the Programme to remember. Hopefully I can see it at least one more time in the future.

I saw this with my daughter this afternoon. What a great adaptation of a great movie. The music and the cast were fantastic. Well done on your comprehensive review. 👍
"Sen and Chihiro spirited away by God" is a very elaborate stage play. Although this is a stage adaptation of the original anime, it brings its own surprises.
Best piece of theater I've have ever see!!! The stink spirit sequence and noface were perfection!!!! Honestly i think the dress circle have the best seats . My only issue was the sniggers from the people next to me and the pricey merch

Had Kanna Hashimoto playing Chihiro and Mari Natsuki playing Yubaba that night and to see them live onstage was a right treat. I wished I had gone into the merch store on the ground floor (the one next to the bar on 1F had the basic tees, totes etc only) as it looked like from your video that it had more merch - I might be wrong here but were there soft toys of the Boh mouse, otori-sama (bathing bird gods) and haedori the fly/bird?
OMG, you're so lucky to have this girl as the main actress!!!!! I wanted to see her, but unfortunately it's won't be her for the date I've got for June!!!

I `m a Japanese as well, living in Kyoto. I like works of Conan Doyle and British literature. so I have been to London twice. I`m very happy that Japanese culture is reallly accepted there. I've also watched the film of Spirited away「千と千尋の神隠し」many times.😄 Japanese mythology of Kojiki is also quoted in the story, and the content is very deep.
I’m curious which seats you would recommend. I’m debating on what to buy, end of row C in the middle section of the stalls, or middle ish of row b in the center section of the dress circle. They are the same price, so that’s not an issue.
Watched it yesterday. Excellent characters and puppets. Only downside not much merchandise. No plushies like you have in your video and the placement of substitutes were a bit difficult to focus on.

The play is done in Japanese. But they said the show had subtitles. So how's that done exactly??
Like with operas, there's a couple of surtitle boards where they show the words in English
