    Kelsey I can so relate to how you feel about your skin. I went to a dermatologist as well and I found out I have hormonal acne. She told me to switch to hormonal birth control pills and she put me on tretinoin gel and Clindamycin gel. Its been 2 months and my skin has cleared up so much I can finally walk outside without make up again. I was annoyed cause I didn't start getting acne until I was 22. Good luck ladies!!!

    • @dstcutie06
      @dstcutie06 5 років тому +1

      Naturally Latrice have you tried a more natural route? I was dealing with hormonal acne out of no where and my doctor gave me different meds to take, they did nothing. So I started doing research for a more natural route to heal acne. I found that taking the supplement saw palmetto helps to balance out your hormones and reduces the oil production, which was causing my cystic hormonal acne. My skin has been clear since I started that combination and I no longer have been having outbreaks

    Kelsey, I appreciate you sharing your skin health struggles. Hormonal acne is the devil.
    Two things that I did really helped me. 1. Drinking only water all through the day. At least 100 ounces per day. 2. Simple skin care. Cleansing, toning and moisturizing.
    Lastly, I tried light therapy. I did one 20 minutes treatment and saw a tremendous difference. 1 treatment per week for 6 weeks. I have the best skin I have ever had.

    • @nicolefisher4779
      @nicolefisher4779 5 років тому

      Velicia Williams I do the same thing except the 100 ounces. I need to step my game up. But simple face routine (I use 3 products) and for me giving up foundation. I wear a dot of concealer to cover a couple of really dark spots on my cheek but that’s it’s.

    When I feel bad about my skin, I look at women who have been disfigured/burned by abusive partners, fires, accidents, etc. I then express gratitude. No one is perfect. Even the super models that we think are perfect are not perfect. Showing your fans your imperfections and being vulnerable is so refreshing to see.

    I feel you with this recent acne breakout. I went all of my teen years without acne but as soon as I hit my 20’s BOOM! I had the worst acne break outs. My skin will clear up and then I’ll wake up with Rocky Mountain skin. It’s depressing, I hate seeing my skin look this way.

      SincerelyKRenee it’s very depressing, I had bad acne from high school up until recently, (I’ve been out of school a longggg time 😁) I use to go to the Dermatologist and the medicine they gave me did not help, I was buying Proactiv and that didn’t work. I wishe UA-cam was poppn back then bcz I found out that dairy is a trigger and once I stopped eating anything with dairy my skin cleared up and I found out about OleHenriksen and my skin is a 100x better.

    You should add a ranch seasoning packet and a tablespoon of butter to your potatoes. You can also add diced onion. Topicals didnt really do much for me either. I had went on an antibiotic for 3 months and that completely cleared everything up for me, but I feel what really helped was going to a holistic naturopath and got a hormone panel done where they took a sample of saliva over the course of your 30 day cycle to see what your hormone levels were like at each stage and then she prescribed supplements and herbs for me

    Acne is literally the worst. mine was 3x worse than yours was Kelsey, and I was so self-conscience about it. I tried to cover it up w makeup, then I realized that was making it worse. Your skin looks great, but give it time to breathe. I know you're on this platform where makeup rules, but the idea of yall going makeup-free for a month was probably the best one yet. It's a journey, and the real ones understand that you're human and have human struggles including dermatological ones. Show it! We will support! *BWT your skin was GLOWING when you were DC (and I know you probably had some skincare on), but Dayum Gina! Freaking flawless.*

    I grew up with a lot of acne, and never got a hold of it until I stopped dairy regularly, hydrating with facial sprays and oil, and not switching and trying a bunch of new products. Not everything is good for your skin, and doing too much to your skin can create more acne. Allergic reactions can also be a culprit. Just sharing some of my things and how I got my skin together without having to see a dermatologist. Wishing you the best with your journey to flawless skin!

    My dermatologist recommended that I start accutane. I have inflammatory cystic acne..my skin looks terrible and I have exhausted all of my options. I know accutane has alot possible side effects but I'm also so tired of the breakouts. . I dont know what to do😫

    It sounds like you’re drying your skin out with all of the acid / chemical exfoliants which make the oil glands produce excessive oil, I believe is why there’s continuous break outs. From a licensed esthetician.

      I was thinking that also...they were going to that spa alot at one point and getting peels way to often. Hopefully the dermatologist can guide them in the right direction.

      Plus, if you look at these ladies, they are always getting products to try and then they buy a ton of things from Sephora, Ulta, etc to try on their skin. All of that can't help no matter how good one tries to eat and exercise. Life is a balance.

      @@lpgilber Exactly! It's like the skin is trying to see which way to go but I too made a statement noticing the same thing after doing alot of Ulta Products that people have been warning against. But again your right too, could be from different stores & types of makeup👍👍👍

    I have never commented before, but I was moved by your honesty and courage. I know from experience that adult achne is hard to have. The energy it takes to put your best face forward, when you don't feel up to it is difficult. I've had great success with dermatologist prescribed Epiduo. I hope this chapter is a quick one! ❤

    I can def relate!!! For a minute I completely quit filming makeup tutorials!! Last August was the worst for me!! I had to give my skin a break, I feel like my skin is just now getting back to "my" normal! It's kind of hard to edit a video and look at your skin going through it! I'm not speaking on anyone who has a skin condition! I'm talking about myself, I wasn't use to seeing my skin break out that bad! I'm 31 & I had never had this type of issue before. I quit reviewing makeup products for a while & gave my skin extra attention. I still get break outs but at least I'm comfortable with going out & not worrying about if people are looking at me crazy. Your skin looks AMAZING THOUGH!! I'M LOVING ALL OF THE NEW VIDEOS BTW!!!

    I had breakouts and I am older. I took all my makeup brushes & blenders and got rid of them . I started over and skin has gotten tremendously better.

      I came to the comments hoping to see where they got the water bottle from 🤣 Knowing how much Kendra loves Amazon, that would be my guess.

    Acne blows. I know that struggle. Struggled with it over half my life and FINALLY got it under control by breaking the stronghold of bad food. For years I thought I was eating healthy and I really wasn't. Sneaky chemicals in so called health foods, ugh. It's a sucky cycle, big time. Just keep eating healthy ladies. Eat a diet that encourages hormonal balance like lots of greens, and go easy on the sugary things, even really sugary smoothies. You're still beautiful. Your body was made to heal itself, so have faith in its ability to do so. Love your videos!

    I also love binge watching shows. It drives me crazy when they end on cliff hangers and I have to wait until next week to see what happens. I started binge watching shows in college with Ugly Betty lol.

    Hi Kendra, in mid 2017 was when I noticed my face have a bad breakout and I think back now it was so ,much stressful situations going on around me that it probably stemmed from. So I applaud you as well for your vulnerability. I too relate!

    I don't know if this is going to be talked about innthe video (still watching) or if someone might mention it in the comments but I wanted to say that maybe the breakouts are due to PH balance being off on your skin from so many products? That'll do it to you...I really like organic apple cider vinegar as a toner and treatment for acne and pink Himalayan salt for acne
