- Callan McAuliffe is such a funny actor and person from what I can see on his instagram and I love his work. Love him a lot!
Further more I can't believe he died in episode 9 after being gone for 5 episodes. I will miss him dearly, since he is one of my personal favorites in the show. You will be missed Callan!

Alden was such a good character and it sucks the way he died. To bleed out in a building alone after everything he’s been through. Not to mention he has a kid and now that kid has no parents
The other walker Maggie killed in the church was a reaper. So we know Alden took one guy out before he died.

Maggie went from zero trust in him to his death probably being the most she’s cried over since Glenn’s, that’s some character arc. I always loved Alden.
Forgive me for I have not watched this season i stopped watching when they still had Negan in the cell in Alexandria. But how did he this character die, so basiclly a Walker broke in ? Or he let the Walker in ? Or someone else did ? I

@@Rtb323 the walker that Maggie killed before putting him down was a Reaper(one of the villains of the season) he had slit Alden's throat before Alden had killed him
Alden was one of the few non-murderous important characters left, he was too pure for this world. RIP
He was the purity needed to bring people back to being good.

Alden was the most humane character in season 11, he was the only one that was trying to save Gage when the others just watched him die. He asked Rick not to kill any more saviors than he had to, even though Alden knew the saviors were bad.

Negan literally tried to save Gage twice the first while Alden and everyone sat and watched

The saviors weren't necessarily bad though. Negan and the leaders with some saviors were bad but the majority were just people. They joined up with Negan cause he kept them alive. Alden was originally one of the saviors for that reason. He switched sides because people like Maggie were better leaders

one of the last known survivor, some of them become part or integrated to the community, aaron's daughter has a savior's blood when rick accidentally killed her dad in the series

It has been a while since a death has genuinely upset me. I was really hoping Alden would survive the last season.
Same, When Maggie arrived at that place I already had a bad feeling. When we saw him death I was sad, but I knew it was coming. Alden should have survived longer, or should have had a better death. Shame he's dead, but the actor did an amazing job!

Looking back, I really enjoyed Alden as a character and the actor did an amazing job even if his character wasn't shown as a major player

He lost Enid, his girlfriend; he lost Earl, his mentor and father-like-figure and he took care and custody of Adam who had been abandoned by the Whisperers outside Hilltop.
Maggie was right, Adam needs a father and Alden was that to him.

I always liked Alden because he was a savior that turned good. I could’ve never picture him robbing people. Always imagined he just had no other group to be with. Great character. R.I.P Alden 😢

The closest to just a regular person we have gotten throughout this show. His suffering and reactions to everything was raw and pure, but his growth was always something true to his character. He knew how to make adjustments and could get along with anyone, even Mary and Lydia. One of the best TV Show editions, and It is a shame we couldn't see him in the Commonwealth.
He was one of my favorites. I'll always remember him regardless of how terribly mistreated his character was in the show and in the fandom. Rip Alden! 😭💕

He was a good one, he was just a worker and not much of a fighter if I remember correctly. He just wanted a better life and he always had good intentions.
Gregory was much more of a member of the Saviors than Alden was

Weird how Alden was so decomposed after such a short time, but Sophia was a brand new zombie after weeks in the barn on Herschel's farm. (Same happened with Merle).
My guess is that blood loss or infection in the cuts (like. Normal infections we get. Not caused by a walker) sped things up a bit. I'm probably not right but it's the only thing I can think of

I really liked Alden from the start, mostly because of Callan. I didn't expect to get emotional bc of his death but seeing this tribute just made me realize how much of a great guy he was. Kinda sad he was so mistreated by a toxic part of the fandom after season 9b.
How was he mistreated?
You can tell Maggie saw Alden as Family due to her crying on his dead body and the last time she cried this much was over Glenn’s death
He was b/c he dated Enid and Enid was basically Maggie and Glenn’s daughter

i really had hope that maggie would find him alive , when she looked around the corner i thought just maybe he was sitting there alive . i really hoped that he would be around for atleast some more episodes . :((

Alden was such a wasted character. From Season 8, it was so clear that he was meant to end up with Maggie (as the TV version of Dante). Then in Season 9, Lauren Cohen left the the show and they had no clue what to do with his character, so they threw him in a rushed relationship with Enid (Another Wasted Character) and barley gave him screen time. Then they killed Enid off, because they had nothing interesting for her character, and set Alden up to hate the Whisperers. Then, in Season 10, they barley did anything with that besides the Gamma/Mary stuff. Then Maggie returns and we don't even get to really see thier reunion. Then Season 11 comes around and, needing at least someone "major" to die, they chose Alden because he's the least interesting main character. It really sucks that they wasted characters like Enid and Alden. They deserved so much better.
Okay, I thought I was the only who always thought they could’ve done so much more with him!
I feel all this time that Aaron and Alden should have killed Beta. Aaron lost Enid and Jesus. While Alden lost Earl, Tammy, Gamma/ Mary and Enid. Sadly they gave it to Negan and Daryl.

@@twdheart948 Dude, Alden had a clear shot to the back of Beta's head TWICE. Once during Mary's death and later when at the windmill. Alden definitely should've been the one to kill Beta.

The windmill would have been tougher, since escaping after that would have been close to impossible though

I cried for Maggie. Her cries make me cry cause they feel so genuine and real. I thought he was gonna end up with her not Enid. I loved him

Callen did an amazing job with Alden, such a bummer we lost him, I figured we would with the severe injuries he sustained, but I wish they had at least let him pass once Maggie got back there so he had not been alone, 😢

He died to his wounds lonely in a house waiting for maggie + group to return from the Reapers.
I won't even lie, when I first saw Alden and how he surrendered in season 8, I knew he stood out from the rest of the survivors
Even though he unfortunately died unexpectedly that fast, he has had SUCH A GOOD RUN
He really redeemed himself in the eyes of Maggie and the others and became a huge important character in the show
He would definately put his life on the line for others
It's really sad he died fast. I was hoping he would be at Commonwealth and meet Princess.
But one can only imagine

Everytime I see Rick in a scene I get sad.

To see the progression of his relationship with Maggie from Season 8 to the current Season (11) and that scene where she comes back to the old church to get him after fighting the Reapers, thinking he's gonna be okay, really hits you in the feels, like the Whisperers season when they put heads on pikes :(
Its good to see that Maggie still has her humanity somewhat intact after all that she had done before that in the season.
Always thought he was gonna end up with Maggie but when they threw in that curve ball of him and Enid I thought they looked so good together & wish we had gotten more with the 2 of them
The 2 of them were a couple in the comics and the whisperers killed him. They probs changed it to "not be too predictable" for the comic readers.
He had a great character progress...the young face of the team... he shouldn't have died... but they had to make a sad death, it's been a while.

Even though Alden’s outcome was obviously not going to be a good one, it still broke my heart to see how it ended for him. Thank you, The Walking Dead, for bringing back the emotional weight we fans carry for these characters, and for giving me a reason to cry. We’ll miss you Alden. RIP…😢

Very talented young actor and singer. And probably the cutest walker ever. Sad to see him go, really enjoyed his character. Probably one of the most relatable and genuinely GOOD people left on the show. He will be missed. Hope to see much more of Callan in the future 😃

I wish we had gotten more time with him, and honestly I wish they had addressed his death a bit better than Maggie just finding him undead. That was so incredibly sad and felt a bit like a disservice to such a special character.

I'm gonna be honest Alden is the type of character I never remembered a single piece of dialogue from. But he's a sign for me at least that you can't truly grasp something is gone until it is really gone. My favorite show is coming to close and it's heartbreaking to start realizing it.

Not only was he such a wonderful, lovable and heavily underrated character, but he was strong as hell too. He fought off and killed a reaper on his own with broken legs and other critical wounds, despite ending up dying as well he still managed to take down a reaper. He’ll always have my love and respect. Rest in peace Alden 😞❤️
Quite a few of the characters felt like friends, Alden certainly one. This was beautiful really, great way to tell Alden's story, very nicely done. Knowing how it would end, I teared up just a bit. Thank you for sharing.

A man with a pure heart who was dragged into a bad group, only to find his saving grace and sacrifices everything for it... Good-Speed Alden and thank you Callan for such a memorable performance...
He was one of my favorite characters ,and being my age ,i related to him.. And i really wanted him to live until the end of the series,and thought he's gonna be like Rosita (one of very few added characters through the series who s still alive) ..
Its even worse than he died off screen...
This death to me was so pointless it was predictable for him to die so I thought the show would go another route or at least wait for Maggie to be with him when he passed but honestly he was such a great character, for some reason he reminded me of Glenn.

Alden's death is the most tragic death because he literally was Glenn in my eyes. He was good and just wanted to protect his people and his death was the saddest thing because he just bled out

Great video and editing! If I may make a friendly suggestion, I think the music is a bit too loud and it´s kinda difficult to understand what they´re saying half of the time. But I enjoyed it!

This guy became my personal favorite character of the later seasons. He was just so....real, he wasn't flashy, he didn't have a booming personality like Negan, and yet, he was my favorite.

The character of Callan as alden was very significant, Callan is a great actor, miss your character as alden.
I like Alden so much, he wasn't evil in the beginning. He may be gone, but his legacy lives on. If I was there, I would forgive him for what he did. It would be a very long time before someone inspires us the way he did. All I can say about the death of Alden is this: It hasn't been for nothing.
