This is scarier to me than the movies. Feels like a weird fever dream where I'm juat confused rather than terrified, and that's worse.
Englund is amazing, even in a silly Japanese comedy show. This is more entertaining than the remake.

Plank of wood for characters, lack of any imagination or creativity, dick-ugly CGI Freddy face, a hollow protagonist, and twist that doesn't lead to surprises and a poor portray of Jackie as Freddy. It's one of the worst remakes that failed to captured the tone and magic of the original.

So after a little research I learned that this was on Japanese tv after 3 was released and before 4 started production, so right at the height of Freddymania.
Anyone know why he doesn't speak? Is it because of the language barrier or maybe they didn't get permission from New Line to have the crazy wise cracking Freddy...either way, this was really cool to see.
I don't think this could be between parts 3 and 4 because that would put it around 1987 and the makeup/gloves Robert's wearing looks more like Freddy's Dead, which would be sometime around 1991.
But yeah, the language barrier is probably part of the reason he doesn't speak, the other is that Asian tv is all about pratfalls and sight-gags. Throw in a laugh track and this is just plain weird.

Super Bowl of self abuse - I don't know how much "research" you did to come up with this being filmed prior to The Dream Master going into production, but either your methods or your "sources" are sorely lacking ;-p
Based on the specific styles of the glove, the sweater AND the make-up design, this was filmed shortly after A Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child in 1989(most-likely between wrapping-up filming on The Dream Child and beginning filming on season 2 of Freddy's Nightmares).
