Look at the players Eddie has to work with compared to Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City squads. They've had a lot of injuries too. The boys are probably feeling it. Eddie needs that little bit more quality to compete with the big boys. People need to be realistic. Back the manager, not just play fantasy football and want change. Be careful what you wish for.

Liverpool has a lot of injuries and klopp is playing academy kids. Klopps game management and substitutions in games shows the class difference between the two managers.

For this game we had Barnes in the build up and 2 players injured during the game. Our captain was out. Our first choice gk was out. Tonali/Joelinton missing. Wilson missing. It’s been one year and a half. People today have so much trouble with concentration and can only see short term.
Howe will have us back on track next season. After the injuries+ ban + disappointing cup exits the season was a salvage job pretty early doors.
I am a Tottenham suporter. I truly believe Tripps has a big influence on the teams he plays for. Ive always said that when Dembele left, it was the beginning of our downfall, but then Tripps was almost as big of a loss.
I think a guy in that position who can be a consistent and strong as he is, he is always going to get quality into the box, its going to make a massive difference.

Last season was unbelievable, but need to be realistic about where we are in the process since take over, hard enough without ffp let alone with it!

Eddie has definitely earned the right to turn this around. If we finish bottom half, results will need to improve quickly next season. If we finish top 8, that's a decent season following premature champions league qualification.

Newcastle are exactly where I expected them to be. I said this in the second week of the season. Newcastle don’t have the knowledge behind the scenes. That’s why no one else went in for Tonali. They all knew what was in the pipe. It’s why the top sides avoided the injury plagued players and quite frankly there’s a reason why no major side contested any of newcastles signing. Eddie Howe had done an excellent job and has earned his crack at this season but it was always going to flutter away this season when spurs and liverpool improved and in a much much much lower scale Chelsea too.
As I said in September……. Howe leaves mourinho in, Howe to England and Southgate to Man U, Klopp leaves and Arsenal to Dubai and Kane still wins sod all.

Honestly I think the injuries and lack of squad depth got to us this season. Even players who got back from injuries like Almiron has not been in form. Then we have the situation with Tounali really messed us up. But I'm optimistic with some of the younger players. We only got the cup this season and the outlook is bleek😢
We're really missing Joelinton's physical presence in midfield too. Knew he's a beast but realised even more since he's been out just how crucial he is too.

Geez fans are a fickle bunch. Newcastle overachieved last season and found themselves over extended playing PL, Cup and CL matches. Then finding themselves in a position where they couldn't simply go out and buy a second squad due to FFP rules. Eddie Howe has done a fantastic job with the players he has available to him and should be congratulated not hung out to dry. In hindsight he should have forgone the Carabao and FA Cup playing a second-string side, focusing on the PL and CL. That of course would have upset the precious Newcastle fans who thought after one great season they can win everything. Start supporting your team and manager for what they have achieved. I'm no Newcastle fan but I know PSG where lucky to when they played Newcastle and indeed Newcastle were robbed in that second match. Sometimes you just need that bit of luck and things would be oh so different.
We can’t keep blaming injuries, we’ve had a lot of players coming back since Christmas and we’ve only won 3 of our 10 league games since then. Only claiming 5/18 points from Luton, Bournemouth and Forest is embarrassing.
Hopefully we can put up a fight against City but it certainly makes you wonder how the season would have gone if Tonali hadn’t been a naughty boy.

Its pointless to talk about sacking Howe already,. If next season theres no improvement then I would consider the options but for now we have had a tough season, too many games and injuries with a pretty small squad of players so id let him get on with his job. In the summer we can hopefully strengthen the team and next season without the Champions League to deal with we should be able to get the performances back to where they should be.
Great young manager. Could be there another 20 years and bring a lot of success to that club. Be careful what you wish for.
I looked at the Newcastle team .injuries, players who are not match fit yet, and Burns at left back is a weakness. I look at Chelsea they are really improving.. Both managers need another seasonm

I was at the game and Newcastle bossed us in the 1st half, but bar Isak’s goal they lacked any threat in the final third.

In fairness to Howe they’ve had horrendous injuries on the first half of the season, plus CL Exit completely knocked the wind out of there sails and they’ve failed to recover any momentum. Give him another season to try and qualify for Europe again. Reality is the finished 4th last year because Liverpool and spurs were well off it. They should be around 7th/8th IMO

We scored twice away from home at 8pm! We’ve won two 8pm fixtures all season! Gordan was injured and started that way. So who??? Wilson injured. Isak and Murphy scored. Scored twice against lpool, Man City etc. the big issues have been squad depth evident since the summer when we had kids for pre season and Bruno who you say is class and Sean that don’t defend!! Howe has done wonders for Newcastle and deserves huge credit for dragging us out of Bruce's mire and stabilising the club but unfortunately he is showing his weakness he only has plan a A and once things go pear shaped he has no answer, Newcastle will have significant money to spend due to the champions league money and the multi year addidas deal so it could be Time to look for a new manager at the end of the season to take us to the next level

Ten Hag is considered a total loser (including by Newcastle fans) and Howe is considered a great success. Let's compare last season: PL Ten Hag 3rd, Howe 4th; Carabao Cup Ten Hag won, Howe 2nd; FA Cup Ten Hag 2nd, Howe lost first game against Sheffield Wednesday.
Richest owners yes, richest club, no. And unable to spend whilst the prevailing PIF rules are in place. Having been there since1970 watching lots of mediocrity, todays expectations need to be reigned in. Poor performance against Chelsea but Eddie overall has done a wonderful job.

They overachieved last season and yes they've been ravaged with injuries but they are a midtable club and their current position is more realistic to there stature.
