Thanks for promoting Graupner with these very nice score videos (which also show what a wonderfully neat scribe he was). Why don't you perform some of Graupner's bassoon works which have not yet been recorded - there are LOADS of them! Also, please note the following: The portrait shown at the start of your Graupner videos is not of Christoph Graupner but rather of Landgrave Ernst Ludwig of Hesse-Darmstadt, who was Graupner's boss from 1709 to 1739. There is no known surviving portrait of Graupner. Moreover, there is a big error in the description of your video - Telemann was never Thomascantor. In fact he auditioned for the position after the holder (Kuhnau) died. He was offered the position but declined it after securing a higher salary in Hamburg. Then Graupner and Bach applied. Graupner did not stay in Darmstadt because of a pay rise but because his boss refused to release him and for him to simply leave was not an option in those days because it would bring great dishonour to him. This is all documented in detail in the letters exchanged between Darmstadt and Leipzig in the first months of 1723. So Bach was the third composer to be offered the position. However, it is inaccurate to say he was third choice because of the way the procedure was conducted.
