Why do all nursing instructors get to have awesome nails yet we aren't even allowed polish? Then again, idk why i'm complaining about nail lenght. Before every test i chew mine off anyway :(
it depends of the type of the tube. The temporary ones ( PVC made ) are good for 3 days but other kind of tubes can be inserted and kept in place for 1 month ( silicone). Usually you have to remove and insert a new one in the other nostril every week to limitate skin irritation.
I appreciate all of the videos of yours I have viewed. My only concern with this video is it inaccurately gives the impression nails of that length is ok, but..... we know those are bacteria carrying length nails and are not appropriate for procedures such as this.
client here, client there... i do not like that. Makes medicine seem like a business. What´s wrong about calling them patients? Anyway, great tutorial. Thanks!
Advice- 1. Use sterile gloves, not clean gloves. 2. Do not touch the tube before having sterile gloves on! 3. Aim it towards the ear not the middle of the face! Ugh, I will stop there.
ok na tana except for the fact that the one performing the procedure has long beautiful nails''' gush, quite distracting, It makes me think, of the fact that nurses should have short plain nails'for long nails could harbor microbes'''' if she would be wearing gloves, either clean or sterile it would only be soiled'''' sorry for this anyway, just a thought
You don't use sterile glove for ng tube insertion. The GI tract is not sterile, thus a sterile field is not necessary.

are you not supposed to wear gloves before touching the ngt?
Head tilted slightly back and insert as in a hook motion. NG tubes aren't pleasant, nothing in this video makes them less so.
What is wrong with this client, he is not moving at all! Is he dead?

Advice. 1. Learn about the actual procedure before trying to give advice. Inserting an NG tube is not a sterile procedure.
Scary!
So many things wrong with this...
perfect :)
