I love the big scale for the flight realistic movements and inertia.
No way to do same with small plane as physics laws does not permit such réalism

At my local club, we hosted a scale rally event a couple of months ago, and someone turned up with a 1/2 scale Piper Cub. It had a DLE 220cc in it. Was awesome to watch fly.
The amazingly capable plane and pilot = what harmony. Made the plane float like a leaf.
It sure is a beauty. The only thing that bugs me about the decathlon models is that so many of them have flaps and the real one doesn’t. It’s definitely nice to have in an rc model though

Beautiful! It is so refreshing seeing something other than a Cub!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not a fan of Cubs. I don’t like the way they look, I don’t like the way they fly, and I don’t even like the name! I would love to see a big Cessna 182 Skylane.
I think Cubs are nice but they are always always yellow... we need something in a different color!

I taught students in decathlon’s for many years, never saw one with wing flaps
They probably didnt fly quite the same way either? lol
He likes flying it upsidedown. I was thinking of them putting a landing gear on top of the wing so he can land it upsidedown too 😄

It would be interesting to have a camera on your hands working the controls so we could get an idea how you do those maneuvers and put that in a box on the screen.
That was one very CLASSY demonstration. Great flying, thank you. (I was lucky enough to part own a Citabria for a number of years, I had many enjoyable hours of aerobatics in her.)

Nice flying the largest RC Decathlon in my fleet has a 6 foot wing span, but I do have a couple of Bud Nosen 1/4 scale which flies very similar. It is very impressive to see large planes doing aerobatics.

Good Heavens! What on Earth is the power to weight ratio on that beautiful beast? From my viewpoint, the only thing lacking is a bit of exhaust muffling.

now put some floats on it and really have some cool shots on the water.
Over water is the last place you would want to fly a plane this expensive, there is always the chance that it will go down, if it goes down, it's better if it hits the ground then water, engine ,radio equipment+ electronics are probably more expensive then the plane, they would instantly be damaged by water.

The tracking on the undercarriage, particularly right side isn’t tracking true leading to the “skipping” on the ground. BTW what a beautiful aircraft and great pilot too. 👍

3:35 is it climbing during a spin or is that a climbing spiral? Curious if the wings are stalled and the engine just has enough horsepower to keep it climbing. Looks like it's stalled.

ok I'm impressed where can I buy one that big. I used to race RC Trucks and it just got to expensive and I lost interest. I'm 63 now bored out of my mind and I've always had a love for flying. where can I get ahold of one of these big bad boys?
If it's such a big airplane, why not try VR flight with a small camera?

I think the only issue is the cost of the model and the reliability (lack of) of the camera...
