I'm a new advertiser, and I've been binge-watching your UA-cam videos. I'm finally ready to launch my e-commerce website. But, my question is this ... should I run an Advantage+ Shopping, Advantage+ Audience, and a Traditional/Manual campaign all at one time? I'm in the POD sector, with the average sale likely to be around $50. Thank you!!
I have been running an Etsy store since 2019, selling home printed personalised mugs, never stuck my nose off it, until this year, when I tried to launch a Shopify store too. For now I got absolute 0 luck though, I am experimenting with ads, tried to make a video ad, then take the audience who watched over 50% of it and clicked on the link, and made a conversion campaign with it, but in a month I got 0 sales, and I found that Facebook is showing my ads mostly (and I mean mostly) to over 65s. How can I change this? That age point is not my target audience, and I find that they are less likely to make online purchases than other younger audiences. Today I tried to recreate the ad, the first person who put a "like" on it, an over 65 woman. Geeee-sus Christ grant me patience.
Appreciate you Ben always releasing content regarding the latest updates/changes to the Meta platform, but could you make a tutorial about real estate audience targeting ang specifications as in Egypt we are spending billions on these ads.

I always feel like my business wouldn’t benefit that much from these updates. Automotive is too complicated and purchases take years to repeat. Moreover, every dealer has to replicate this strategy with each brand they represent (which also have dedicated budget). Internal competition is already brutal with custom audiences: wouldn’t Advantage+ make things even worse?

how many purchase data your ad acc have when you started advantage plus camp?
@@YCManager- 0, it was a new pixel and ad account but when doing suggested Target audience i went for narrowed audience

If you use Advantage+ Targeting, do you no longer need to set up multiple ad sets with different targeting criteria? Or should you still do that to give Meta multiple unique suggestions of audiences to try?

One quick question: Since detailed audience is a suggestion and not a boundary, why every time we add more that 5-6 suggestions there is a notification that pops up from Meta that warns us about "Remove detailed targeting options to avoid zero Leads"?
Out of pure logic, since those are suggestions, the Leads spectrum should get bigger after adding each new suggestion, not smaller. Any ideas or thoughts about this would be more than welcome!

So does this mean you are switching from recommending a campaign with 5-6 ad sets? What structure would you recommend now?
You said that the audience suggestion can help with new ad accounts. If you have an established ad account, is it better to use completely broad? Can it hurt results to provide the suggestions? I have been providing a look-alike audience based on past customers. But if we have enough data in our account, would it be better to leave that off and go completely broad?
Question. Is fb ads having issues? I noticed on my ads manager that my ad has over a 100 clicks, but when viewing the ad on fb it has 0 views with 1 like, and Instagram has 13 views with 1 like. How is this even possible?
so what's the minimum Ad account purchase data to move on to using broad Advantage + Camp? Can you use advantage plus if you only have 100atc datas?

Hi Ben I wish I could get your attention.
I have an ad that will perform well with tons of age groups based on its creative.
It's a lead conversion ad.
The problem is the sales page where the conversion should happen is narrowed to a certain age group and persona.
Would it be wise then to allow Facebook go broad knowing that it could get results but my sales page conversion would be bad?

Did they take away the locations option? Can't seem to target people specifically living in a location, seems the default is people living or recently in, but no option to change it to just living in

Also - -did you figure out how to merge all engagements using their auto-placement? Big annoyance is I cannot duplicate into different interests/audiences "we built this ad custom to the xyz specific placement"
If its only suggestion then why does the audience size shrinks on a side bar when you put “suggestions”?

You'll have to contact Meta about that one I'm afraid.
Thank you for the great content, I’ve noticed that now when “switching to the old design” my detailed targeting is now called “advantage detailed targeting” when running a traffic campaign to a website and can’t be switched off.

They deprecated the ability to have it off just recently.

Question: What about retargeting? Should I put them in a different adset or it doesn't matter anymore? Btw, there are no hard constraits anymore, even if you switch back to "old targeting", it still says "Advantage+", for example, it says "Advantage lookalike has been applied, we’ll expand your audience to include more people beyond your lookalike audience" - even though I switched to the "old targeting".
If you're doing pure retargeting, you need to use the old version. Otherwise, add in all your warm with an Adv+
@@donnyjkimball Why there is a need for STRICT RETARGETING ? where if the retargeted audience didn't make the purchase still,will burn your budget whereas By using ADVANTAGE + AUDIENCE SECTION'S custom audience option will also deliver it to your custom audience + new customers that meta thinks can convert ,plus if you want strict exclusion in case of SOME DISCOUNT or limited time offer type ads you can simultaneously use AUDIENCE CONTROL option with ADV+AUDIENCE and exclude last 30/90/180 days purchasers.

Curious if you get paid by Facebook for pushing this as it REALLY depends what you run, some ads will in general just make zero sense on Instagram and so forth. If your ads require attention span their are certain placements you certainly want to exclude. Yes, surely Facebook will "adjust" as time goes on and will pick the better placements but don't for a minute believe they are not going to waste your funds on their "not so good" Inventory of Traffic.

I want to ask you something what if I create a campaign "sale" with objectif view content and give it a small budget like 3 or 5 dollar and I select a bench of interests then i leave it for 3days to collecte data after that I duplicate it and switch audience to adventage + it will work ? Or its just the same thing will happen if I select advantage + from the begging?

I'd turn it off and on again. Sounds like a bit of a glitch.
Does that mean that I can have both? Hard boundaries in aspects and other aspects the algorithm is more free to experiment at the same time?
Yes to some extent. The hard boundaries you can set using Audience Controls and the options there are limited.

You can still use carousels with Advantage+ Audience. You do so at the ad level.

Hey Ben, how does that apply for a brand that is selling a specific product in a specific sports, that product has no use outside of that audience? do you still recommend broad targeting at the point?
Advantage+ Audience will be the way to go for you. Add some specific interests and let Meta work it out from there.

My FB account does not distinguish between ad sets and ads... when I set up a campaign I have two layers shown to me to edit - the campaign and the ad itself. Currently running 10 different campaigns targeting 10 different interests but they all use the same ad....

yes, it does. If you go to Page - Settings - Page Setup - Data Sharing (must be ON) and read the text below, you'll see that all activities, including marking Lead Stages in Lead Centre are used to teach AI which type of people you want more of. Also, in my Lead Centre, Lead Stages have been changed to Intake, Qualified, Converted, Lost and Not Qualified. Has it also changed for you too?

I would not recommend structuring things that way honestly. I would use a separate ad account per client.

I don't worry about audience overlap unless I have identical campaigns or ad set running.

Since Facebook removed the ability to target anybody on anything related to social issues, how do you advertise to these people now? There is a big upsurge in the labor movement and I want to target people interested in related topics.

For me it doesn't work at all. Everytime FB thinks that it's a good idea to show my ads to people 65+. While my real audience is 25-45
I notice this as well... when it is on advantage plus audience ... we got bombarded by people so far from our targeting.. mostly seniors
