I didn't encounter any begging at MMA 2 when my husband and I traveled back in April, 2023--unlike MMA where every visit I was asked to "appreciate" someone. That was a nice difference

Your videos are very informative. I fly Delta into Lagos and I really hope they’ll be using the new terminal 2. Coming through the old one can be overwhelming for international travelers coming in with the antiquated facilities and begging 🥺 all around.

Sassy Funke. I have to commend you for finally referring to our Lagos airport with its proper name. I remember a commenter challenging you on this and your response being extremely combative, which I honestly couldn't understand since he was right. I agree that referring to it as Lagos International Airport is more recognizable for non-Nigerians, unlike a Heathrow, or JFK, that is internationally recognizable. Kudos for your maturity. Hi Funke, you mentioned Qatar airways uses the new terminal 2. But checking flightaware for the recent previous flight to lagos ( QR1407) , it says Terminal 1. I recognize the video is 6 months old and things may have changed. But just so I can confirm, please what's your source that Qatar Airways arrives terminal 2?

Sassey, it doesn't matter if the maintenance of the new airport is given to the private or not as long as those rmanaging the airport are inept and don't supervise the running of the airport it will still be badly runed and the toilets will still stink and the janitors will still be hustling for money from the traveling Passengers and not doing what they are paid to do.

What are your thoughts on the flaw in the airport design that prevents the major airlines from moving to the new terminal?
My thoughts? You may not publish this but why are the former Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, and everyone else involved walking around free and not in jail? This is not a design "flaw". This is corruption at play. The nerve of the current Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika, to boldly displace the private hangar owners and dismiss it as being in the public's interest. No, public interest is to try and punish the government officials that got us here in the first place.
Despite the design flaws, the authority can work with it if they are serious. Passengers can transit from the new terminal through a bus 🚌 gate and board the aircraft parked around the old MMA. Although boarding via bus gate is time consuming and extra expense with logistics against boarding through a jet bridge.
