i like how you described mahogany as chocolatey, i have some mahogany wood and i turned some bowls and i love the color, and chocolately is exactly how it looks! I recently saw a video from Nathan 4071 where he used ebony and its so luxurious! I know what you mean about ppl visiting your channel. I have lost count of how many ppl have said they were sending fatwood, but never did, and on a couple occasions, asked me to send them something i made in exchange for fatwood and it never came. Thats ok, cos the good ppl i have met on here far outweighs any dissapointments. I love your dedication to your craft! The vase is beautiful of course!

Hello there Bonnie! Yes Chocolatey! The wood I turned from my dad's walking stick is not so chocolatey. It's a bit greyer in color. It could be A) It's a different kind of wood or B) It's so old and the colors have dried and leached out over the many years it hasn't been sealed. Regardless, it's beautiful wood!
~I'm gonna have to check that video out by Nathan! It may have slipped by me. I LOVE watching Nathan turn. He's so smooth n easy and makes it look so simple. Very pleasant and therapudic. Ebony?? is that the same as African black wood? That's some beautiful wood there but very pricey!...
~Huh! That's a disappointment for people to say something and not follow through. If there's anything I've taught my son, it's that when you say you're gonna do something you DO IT!
~ Yes Bonnie! The passerby people (weeds)~ not using it as a derogatory term- are weeded out from the faithful, dedicated regulars and that's priceless! Not saying that from time to time a regular doesn't show up for various reasons). My mom always said, "You'll have many acuaintences but only 1 or 2 good friends" ~ People who stick with you.
