I'm honestly afraid about the way he keeps staring at Ariel during the first half of interview. It looks like a killer sent to kill Ariel but he's fighting internally to find reasons not to kill the victim.
He explained why he was staring, when he and izzy fought in brazil, poatan's son kinda mocked izzy, then izzy went on a interview with Ariel, Ariel said tha he would "kick" the kid if he was Izzy, Paotan is staring cause he did not like someone sying that would hurt his son.
He actually did a poor job. Probably because he isn't a translator. His Alex's coach. He basically says what he thinks Alex meant instead of saying what he said.
It's weird how the translator almost gets more of the shine than the actual fighter itself in the comments on videos of these. Think that's kinda interestinf.

love that Alex answers honestly. Yes he was hurt at end of first round and yes if the round had more time left Izzy may have finished him. It’s a fight that’s what can happen. So many fighters lie when asked these things. Doesn’t matter that he got hurt it’s that he recovered and came back to win the fight by stoppage.
Yes, but Adesanya only got him because he intentionally pressured him more at the end of the round. And as Adesanya was fresh, is faster and better counter striker, Alex was hit. That hardly would happen in the midle of the round. It said, Adesanya throw the last punch of the first round after the bell.
@@ChildishGambeaner No it's actually valid and correct. And it isn't pointed out enough that second shot which really hurt him was after the bell so I appreciate him bringing it up. End of story
Anyone who thinks Alex is scared of Khamzat or anyone clearly doesn’t know anything about Alex Pereira. Only simultaneous two weight Glory kickboxing champ ever. He knocked out legends and knocked them out cold. All he needs is one punch or knee or kick to land. He has eaten head kicks from killers and kept coming to knock them out. He ain’t scared of getting taken down and dry humped and submitted. He always comes to fight
Alex has zero grappling skills, we all saw that in his last fight. Khamzat is a world class wrestler who can take hits we saw that with the Gilbert burns fight, all it takes is one takedown for Khamzat and your boy won’t be able to get back up, he will get submitted and he knows that, and that is why he is making specific request to move up in weight where he is more comfortable and Khamzat is less comfortable, I’ve wrestled all my youth and a 5 pound difference is a lot let alone 20 pounds. I doubt Alex wants to lose his title that soon especially in his home country Brazil so he’ll duck that fight until his grappling is better which is fine.
And anybody who thinks Pereira ain't working on his ground game is foolish. Hes been working with the best of the best. If he goes into his next fight with a nice ground game and can defend himself towards it they're just gonna find somthing else to complain about. Out of all combat styles wrestling is the easiest thing to grasp, I just hope yalls "world class" wrestlers dont catch a big ass Brazilian knee trying to fight like a girl, These fighters better get there stand up game up to par playing with alex.. that's all I know.
@@AfroViking300 I have been practicing mma for 2 years now and wrestling is not easy. What u mean easy? The technique might be easy to learn but to execute and the strength required to maintain the position is challenging. You can get good over the time but it's really hard to get in the same level as someone who has done it for so long. The problem Alex faces is that his ground game won't catch up with the likes of kamzat who is a chain wrestler. Also talking about Alex striking, as elite as he is once someone threatens you with a take down it's hard for a striker to get on his rhythm or even maintain a rhythm. Burns had a really good ground game which made khamzat to get the fight standing but Alex doesn't have that and won't have that.
You must have forgotten who's been champ at middleweight... The last two guys before Adesanya were Robert Whitaker and GSP. You don't think they are humble guys? lol. The only champs that were constantly talking about their greatness were Adesanya and Rockhold (and even Rockhold didn't say that often) Also, Adesanya speaks in that regard to be inspirational, because it's where he needs his mind to be in order to be at his best. So.. the only champ that was a real arrogant person was Luke Rockhold. Even Bisping was less arrogant and more just had a chip on his shoulder. But I'd accept Bisping AND Rockhold as a real answer. I don't know who you're honestly talking about. lol. But I do agree with you, Alex has a very chill and straightforward vibe about him. I don't think poorly of Izzy though. Why would I? he's a good guy too, just louder. You think Alex doesn't imagine himself as being great? You have to be when you do a career like this.
@@oggaming7362 uhh the previous champ obviously…and a whole bunch of prototypical fighters…I mean that’s how they typically promote them…by talking endlessly about their greatness in a sport where there’s a large degree of chance involved, it started to get really old. I prefer a down to earth champ. You need examples really? McGregor, adrsanya, bones, usman, most champs that get more than two defenses tend to have their heads float up in the clouds….at this point, with all the narcissism in the world right now, I find a down to earth champ a much better representative of martial arts, instead of marketing. The narcissists are good for short term marketing I suppose, they tend to make more money, but not good role models really imo
@@stevedv629 I agree with you about Alex. I think you're exaggerating how many fighters, and more specifically champs, have legit narcissism. That's a very strong word. Jones, McGreggor... for sure I agree with you (but I wasn't aware you were talking outside the 185 division at first). I still think that you're greatly inflating your idea of two things: 1. That so many fighters are like this. 2. That it is SO bad that we should label it narcissism. You have to at least understand that these guys/gals HAVE to be full of themselves. Even Alex Pereira is. And so when you have them all speaking about how they feel, literally being asked by the media questions like, "How do you do this? Are you going to win? How will you win?" etc... You're going to get quite a few of them to answer along the lines of "Because I train harder. Because I'm better, I'm the best. I know what I can do, he/she can't handle me." etc.. All I'm saying is, I get where you're coming from for Alex. It is always nice to see a calm fighter/champ. But there's also nothing wrong with a fighter/champ that is openly admitting what is going on in EVEN Alex's head too! They all have to envision themselves as the best, unbeatable, have all the answers... etc. So on one end, you can criticize Pereira for kind of lying, to be fair. Because he's not honestly answering the questions. You can also admire him for deciding to leave that part of his thinking out. Neither type of person is a better person. And as far as legit narcissists and sociopaths in the UFC... few and far between, and I actually hate them a lot too. But don't let the Jon Jones and Conor McGreggors ruin your perception of all the rest that are just on a path of striving to be great at what they do!😊

love that Alex answers honestly.
Anyone who thinks Alex is scared of Khamzat or anyone clearly doesn’t know anything about Alex Pereira. Only simultaneous two weight Glory kickboxing champ ever. He knocked out legends and knocked them out
cold.
Lol..style makes fight and alex got very weak wrestling. He gonna get taken down real fast and that's it. No power of Alex will help him from there.
You sound like me in this comment section, they definitely got alex Pereira confused. Dudes is a whole different beast.
That facepaint, that aura during fightweek. That ringwalk.
I mean people is waiting literally to see him crack a smile.
I mean take my 💰 everytime!
Alex has got that humble vibe, so refreshing after all these guys talking about their greatness all the time 🙄
You must have forgotten who's been champ at middleweight...
Who are these guys you speak of
@@oggaming7362 uhh the previous champ obviously…and a whole bunch of prototypical fighters…I mean that’s how they typically promote them…by talking endlessly about their greatness in a sport where there’s a large degree of chance involved, it started to get really old.
@@oggaming7362 How does Izzy's hubris inspire others?
@@stevedv629 I agree with you about Alex. I think you're exaggerating how many fighters, and more specifically champs, have legit narcissism. That's a very strong word. Jones, McGreggor... for sure I agree with you (but I wasn't aware you were talking outside the 185 division at first). I still think that you're greatly inflating your idea of two things:

Being able to handle the direction anything goes.
Izzy still deserves his rank. Don't let a loss let yall switch up on him all of a sudden. He is still the Man no one was able to beat. He faced any challenger, defeated them all. An extremely skillful and articulate fighter. Alex beat him... But I don't ride hype trains. Izzy is the same boss. The fact that he lost... @Jon Jon have spoken, I bet u have the capacity to learn another language and be surprised by how much big this universe is.
@@JonJon-pj9ly yeah or he could also learn a second language, personally i already know a second language.
Alex is always so calm.
Pereira is incredibly inspirational! Keep on keeping on Champ!!!
Not sure what the hate is on the translator, thought he did a great job 🙏🏻
He sounds like he’s going to have a heart attack and not really professional especially at this level.
He's actually translating the responses a lot clearer imo, a lot of what the translators say is a generic response that doesn't really match what the fighters are saying. I could be wrong though
That's why a lot of fighters are having their own translators now, like Zhang weili for example
Because he isn't an translator. And most of the time he says what he thinks Alex meant and not really what was said
@@Youafool500 his translation is fine, left a little bit out but interpreted the important details properly. You are right though, he needs to lose some weight, he talks like he's about to pass out.
17:30 Ariel’s getting dealt a death stare
I love this guy. I hope he reigns for a long time
Highly doubt that, even if Izzy beat him Izzy would have lost the belt in 2013 to either Robert or Khamzat. Izzy really is the last pure striker, if you look at the guys coming up they are wrestle heavy prospects.
@@uvwxyzero 2013? Losing to Robert Whittaker? lol Robert got beat twice, Derek Brunson got beat, Yoel Romero got beat, Paulo Costa got beat, Kelvin Gastelum who is originally a wrestler btw got beat vettori got beat, Khamzat couldn’t even outwrestle Gilbert Burns lmao he got knocked around and gifted a decision so idk why you think Khamzat is the end all be all at 185 when he’s ducked Luke Rockhold twice, Paulo Costa and he won’t fight Robert Whittaker either lmfao he literally wants nothing to do with anybody he knows with nullify his wrestling and expose his striking weakness, He 100% wants to avoid Whittaker he said himself that he won’t fight him lol if Khamzat wants a shot at the 185 title he should fight Whittaker which he won’t do.
I thought I wouldn't enjoy this like ordinary interviews because of language barrier but I really like this one because Alex Pereira seems genuine and a chill dude. This guy is all business and humble. Even if he doesn't hold that belt for a long time, he'll be a legend forever. Fantastic resume as a combat sport athlete. He started late by fighter standards but he surely delivered and has a great body of work.
hes got that native in him they just stare at your soul lol
lol he cracks me up, I wish I could understand Portuguese so I could understand the humor but when he apologized for bringing up Shaub’s name is hilarious
In portuguese,It really sounded like he genuinely doesn't even know exactly who schaub is but someone showed him the video... because his translator was the one who said brendan's name..
@@marig6096 I know but his twitter or social media stuff is pretty damn hilarious and their was a few during this where he was smiling saying it and it sounded like he was making a joke but Ariel didn’t get it
khamzat ducked costa, whittaker, vettori but he called alex out. he thinks he can do whatever he wants while missing weight & fight for the belt in multiple weight classes lol. hopefully this fight happens and aIex sIeeps him
Truth
The no life jobless nobody is back. Expect him to copy and paste the same comment repeatedly this whole fight week... clown 🤡
are you mad hes trying to control his career. i get what your saying but he just beat the 2nd ranked in gilbert hes upthere and a bigger star then those guys tbh. ufc always treats stars better
I don't remember khamzat being offered costs vettori etc. how did he duck? Lol mma fans are delusional little girls, when khamzat smokes costa you'll be the same guy who says costs is just a striker and can't wrestle 🤣 People also said izzy is scared of costs, the most idiotic fanbase in sports is def mma
@@caveman8557 do you remember when he turned down fights with Luke? Both of those fights were offered to both of them and he turned both dates down.
Alex directly communicating with fans or reporter would be great. For his PR and for fans ofcourse.
45:57 damn he crack that neck so vicious 😮😮😬😬I thought it was my knee 👴🏼👴🏼👴🏼🦵🏻🦵🏻🦿
Lol it's normal dude
Good job on securing this interview for us
Alex é muito sincero. Ele admite coisas que ngm admite
Truly an inspiration to be humble, and still have the eyes of a killer. Dude really built different
Ariel: I’m gonna get hate if I don’t say this to you in person…
Me: no way he’s gonna mention the kid stomping to Alex in person !?!?
Ariel: so I thought it was a early stoppage
Even though I can't understand him he's still more refreshing than Izzy
Alex is as real as they come happy he was the one to beat Izzy when izzy acts arrogant the way he does.
