    I have been working on processing plants for the last 6 years particularly on turn arounds and shutdown schedules. During tie-in works, conventional RT is always the cause of delays. This new digital technology will reduce downtime during urgents times.

      With bad planning or bad welds, it’s a delay.

    I would like to do RTR but I'm stuck in conventional... it's getting old. Might just study for PAUT certs and leave RT in the dust.

    Don’t know y’all get your average range for a conventional crew but 20 being the low end, really. If you only shoot 20 in a full day you need to find a new job

    DISCLAIMER: Fake news. As an individual who works in this field, this is not “RTR”. This is stitching individual DR images together. MNGA, Make NDT great again.

    My question is the operator a Registered Radiological Technologist? Many states REQUIRE anyone using ionizing radiation be certified by the American Association of Radiological Technologist and be compliant with all Nuclear Regulatory Commission standards of continuing education. #ARRT, #ASRT, #GSRT, #TXSRT

    • @scottsmith244
      @scottsmith244 2 роки тому +3

      No. This certification falls under an industrial application. They are required to be certified, but it's as an industrial radiographer. Typically, through the State Department of Environmental Quality or Bureau of Radiation Control. Depending on which state they occupy.

    pointless, for,decades welders built pipelines with no inspection and they are holding to this day, i have found pipelines with no bead or no cap and held under high pressure for 60 years

    • @jakefranklin89

      Ah, the old “it’ll hold” argument.
      In a way, you’re not wrong-many welded components might endure decades of use without catastrophic failure. We can attribute this to workmanship, providence, or just dumb luck.
      Sadly, it’s because of these inconsistent measures of quality that we lose loved ones on the job through industrial disasters.
      Jobsite procedures and inspection standards are often written in blood. You don’t want that to be yours. By adhering to these established processes, you’re not just ensuring the functionality and longevity of the product you’re constructing.
      You’re protecting yourself.
