- First Wash in 25 Years ABANDONED Barn Find Corvette Disaster Detail! | Satisfying Restoration
Today, we tackle the interior, exterior & engine bay of an ABANDONED 1984 Chevrolet Corvette C4, that is covered in dirt, debris, and fuzzy little critter goo on the inside. This car hasn't been detailed in years and will require us to pressure wash the entire exterior, followed by a wash, clay bar and then polishing the paint and a full interior detail including mold removal. It's the 80's music that is so fitting for this detail.
These old barn finds are so cool. The guy won't sell, but will let it rot and do nothing to it.
Atleast this one I know is getting picked up today and taken to get the engine running!
it's not that easy
@Trent Riley im sure they have thier reasons. But im not the type of person to hold onto something i dont use. Just me though.
I have my dad’s cool car (71 Buick GS) sitting and collecting dust under a cover and car port. Can’t afford to get it up and going with 2 youngsters and a stay at home wife. I hate it but I’m not getting rid of the last thing that has this kind of memories. 😢
My mother in law has an atv that belonged to her late husband and won’t part with it and let’s it sit out in the yard a go to waste. It’s all she has left of him so I totally understand. Everyone has their reasons. May not be the reason that makes sense to you but to them, it does.
Gotta love the 80's music with this vid. It's so appropriate.
Digging all the 80’s music in this detail!! Love this car!!
Hell yes!
I said same thing out loud. Glad I went down and check if someone else wrote the comment.
I wanted a corvette so bad when I was in highschool. And yes, the interior looks like a cockpit. Also love music choice, very 80's
Best music I’ve ever heard on a detailing channel by far. None of the typical dub stuff. Thank you!
Thats what I was hoping, getting tired of it myself! Did you see the most recent video? Changed it up in that one too. ua-cam.com/video/ntZ-b8yXrEk/v-deo.html
Nice Vid. A couple things to correct, 1. the doors are not metal. There are metal "crash bars" inside the door but the door is smc same as the rest, they never rust. There is a steel part under the seats. That is all. 2. The toggle switches you refer to do not post information to the right as you guessed. Rather they post information to the small center portion of the LCD dash. The screen you thought it posted to, is actually your "information center" aka idiot lights. and 3, that is a 1985 corvette not an 84. Cheers! Love the c4 content, they are crazy value cars. nice before and afters!
I was actually about to post the same thing, haha! I see there's another corvette lover here. Just so everyone knows, the 84 had a cross fire injection motor, while the 85 was switched to a tune port injected motor (L98). In 92 they switched the motor to the beefier LT1 motor (not to be confused with the current 1LT motor that is in the current c8s
@@shadencrin ceasefire engine*
He spoke about the door opening handles, which are metal.
@@LMAOOOOOOcrossfire* in 1984. I own one. 😂
@@gabelofi it was a joke I knew the actual name
My father owned a 95 Corvette convertible. There’s a long story to it. This just sent me down memory lane. Thank you.
The soundtrack is great! Definitely fits for an 85. I enjoyed watching this. Excellent job!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm loving the 80s style rock you have playing while you clean the car omg!!! Really enjoyed this video!!!
Glad you liked it!!
The soundtrack to this detail had such an 80s vibe! It fits the car👌🏽
C4, prettiest model in my opinion
Something is so peaceful about watching someone give the love and attention to a car that it deserves. I'm sure you treat your family with the same care. By the way, you look familiar!
Like the music, really adds to the experience 😉
Yes! first person to mention that! I was laughing my arse off when I was editing it. It fit perfectly lol
Great music choices for this one.
That 80's background music is just spot on in this detail!
The music choice is top tier!
I assume the music is free public domain but it fits the car theme so well!!!
Awesomely done job. Who in his right mind would abandon a beauty like that?
I like the music choice. It fits the car lol
Talk about finding a good detailing channel that has the right tunes for the right vehicle detail. Synthwave and a 80's/90's vehicle just go well together. Now those skills, God has blessed you. You really keep someone entertained with your capabilities, 10/10 highly recommend. Subbed🔥
Wow, thanks!
The Corvette C4 were in production from January 3, 1983-June 20, 1996. What a timeless classics they were......👍
Crazy they were in production that long!
Love the music vibes. ❤
Awesome detail. It’s cool to see this type of car come across the channel. Great way to start the Sunday!
Heck yeah dude! Enjoy!
I don't really think of myself as a car enthusiast, but I definitely have a soft spot for Corvettes. (I attribute it to having one for my Barbies back when I was a kid - I think the good memories associated with playtime kind of bled into an association with the vehicle itself, lol.) So that makes this before/after particularly enjoyable for me. Even if it's not perfect, it still looks amazing compared to what it was at the beginning of the detail.
Haha same here!
Loving the 80’s like soundtrack.
Fits perfect with this era of car!
@@StaufferGarage sure does!!
You always should detail classic cars not new boring ones :D
That’s actually the plan!
The c4 is a classic
The matching 80's music gives me life hahaha!!
The music to your video was outstanding.
lol thanks!
oh, I haven't found any dead rats yet, but I did find a gold ring with a diamond))) 9:24 Great job!
Nice job! The music is also getting better! 😀
Great job. Looked like the carpet was great quality with a nice pile so I bet it was actually enjoyable to get cleaned. Yeah that paint is gonna need some work to bring back or maybe even be redone.
Yes it was, super easily to restore. Paint was a different story
The doors in fact fiberglass. I love c4 vettes
The montage music is Perfect for this car's detail.
The center of the dash “screen” you are referring to is actually where all the warning lights are, all the toggle switches give you all that info in the center section of the gauge cluster
Ah ok! I knew it showed somewhere but without a good battery I had no idea
@@StaufferGarage definitely understandable if you’ve never seen the interior of these cars before, just trying to clarify what it actually was, definitely was a great transformation… I’m a sucker for the Gotti wheels
Love the soundtrack
This video was pleasure to watch. My favorite car brand/type and great music on the background. Such stylish and contemporary for C4's era. Wonderful work. Greetings from Czech Republic
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent music choices for this one lol
80's music for an 80's car! Great job!
my favorite car nice clean
Mine too!
I loved the detail and the music you included in this video.
Thank you!
Good video buddy glad this car was in your hands
Thanks 👍
Actually, the four or five selector switches on the center panel change what is displayed on the main instrument cluster just above the speedometer, gauge and gas gauge. Not on the center screen.
Stauffer I absolutely love your videos. How am is well with you and your family. Thank you for making these for us.
Glad you like them and thank you! Family is doing amazing
@@StaufferGarage that's great I'm glad!
Corvette C4 is one of the last sports car bargains out there. Tons to choose frorm, but be selective, as many were ridden hard and put away wet. Stick shift car...great find!
Very true!
I hope the mice didn't chew up the wires!!!!
Best episode yet!
Maybe it's the car, maybe it's the music! The '80s era came straight in my head watching your video. For some funny reason my mind went "Bon Jovi" straight away :)
Great job. Love your videos and the music as well.
You have to cover the tps! It won't last long now. Coil on cap too
Great work on this '85. Definitely worth doing.
Music list, please! 🤩
And amazing detail work as always!
Cool video. I have an ‘88 C4, picked up a few detail points I’m gonna use
Glad it was helpful!
I like your sond track.
It went from ISH to WOW! Of course, it still needs some TLC, but you did a great job as usual!
It does! Totally agree
Great video again 👌 very original top gun soundtrack on this 👌
Great work as always 👏
Yes! That’s what I was going for
Always been told not to pressure wash engine bay
Maybe up close but electric pressure washers are only ~2100 psi (mine is) and at 10” away you can spray your hand and it doesn’t hurt
Thought this was the Car from Knight Rider 😂😂😂
That was a treat! Music was appropo!!!
Great find Mr. Stauffer! I have a long list of my favorite Corvettes, but the 1998 is not on that list. Thank goodness GM hired the right people to resurrect the brand!!
We had a 2007 C6 model and what a huge difference it was compared to the older models for the better!
I agree!
Awesome
Great job!
Thanks! Have a great sunday!
You too James & family 😊
Even the tyres look like new after 25 years!
Great Vid !!! Thanks
This is new for you to do Wd do lots of barn finds which are great transformations to watch
I am loving doing something new! Saving history over the dealer tradeins
That belongs right in the driveway now. With a Lamb decal on the front window.😂
Perfect.
Wicked detail 👌 and even better sound track ! Can you list the songs pleaseee thank you ! 😊
The 80s music vibe completes the viewing experience! Totally awesome dude🤘🏻
I thought so too!
Cars are meant to be driven. Don't let em rot away people.
I love C4 s! I own a C3 but I was a kid when the C4was king of the road! Those Gotti wheels are the shiznit!
Nice job I bet that car does sweet burnouts
I bet so too
Nice C4 Vette!
There are hundreds and thousands of C4's. That said, it kills me to see any abandoned. I just restored my 87 C4. It is a beauty and priced tens of thousands under the competition. As for the seats, there is a simple wire lever that you push up on an the lower cushion pops out for easy access w/o having to unbolt the frame. C4's Rock!
Good morning everyone! Dude, awesome car. I love it! I finally got a break in the weather today for a few hours and I've got to get the wife's car done. Had to watch your vid to get motivated rite quick! TY sir!
Right on! How’s it turn out?
@@StaufferGarage just got done and it looks awesome! Finally after 3 weeks of rain and waiting.
Such a beautiful car ❤
Hello, I do value that you do the cars for free, your time and commitment is not free, being you could be doing something else. I like the video but I would have love seeing you wet sand and complete the paint restoration process. Would have loved to see that car glisten. Thanks and I hope I wasn’t that negative.
Not at all, owner had plans for the paint and said give it a go but don’t go crazy. My content pays the bills so that’s why doing it for free works out
Great job🙌🏼💪🏽🤘
Your videos are great and satisfying, greetings from Colombia 🔥✌🏻
Thank you very much! Love Columbia
Great job but as the owner of an '87 Vette I would NEVER powerwash my unprotected engine compartment! There is a LOT of electronics that you could easily fry.
Thanks for sharing
Man I love c4s with big wings. It makes the car (to me) look so much better. I've been debating on putting one on my c5. But nothing I've found looks like it belongs on the car.
Great video!
Thanks!
Nice car! Also loving the 80s montage music lol
Glad you like it
Good morning! Happy Sunday!
Morning! Let me know what you think of this epic soundtrack lol
@@StaufferGarageIt's nice!
Love the music. It has a late 1980s to early 1990s vibe
Just like the car!
Awesome video with an incredible transformation🤯 I really enjoyed the carpet extraction! Keep up the good work👍
Thank you so much 😁
Awesome job Stauffer Garage
Glad you enjoyed it
Morning Stauffer!
Morning Heather!
Billy Mays was not lying to you when he told you the power of OxiClean
Those rims looks sweet.
I think so too!
That's so sad to let a beautiful black C4 sit and rot like that. It's a piece of American automotive history! I would LOVE to own this car. I would drive it every day too.
Hi @Stauffer Garage, I love your videos, I don't know why but I always feel relaxed watching it. You really do a great job, congratulations.
I would love to do this kinda work but in my country, especially in my city, the investment is too high and the profit too low.
Cheers from Brazil and sorry about my poor english, may God bless you and your family.
Your English is great!
@@Abraxos_xWildflowers Thank you for your kind words, this is rare on the internet nowadays. 🙏🙏
Thank you very much!
Just some corrections - the doors are fiberglass skinned & all the display switches in the Centre console activate display options in the driver’s dash not the Centre. The Centre is an information display the car will initiate if there is a problem such as service engine soon light.
The toggle switches are for the instrument panel the other is the information panel above the radio when door, hatch are open and check engine light stuff like that.
As a previous owner of an '84, I can confidently say that this aint one. '84 was crossfire with throttle body fuel injection. This Vette has tuned port injection, available '85 - '92. Although under powered the car handled like it was on rails and more than once was mistaken for a Ferrari in the '80s. Car literally stopped traffic a toll booths with attendants coming out to get a better look. Now C4's are one of the most undervalued and underappreciated Vettes. I sold mine to a hot rod builder who wanted the Z51 suspension. Complete car, $1600. Sheesh
Corvettes were a popular car with Pilots and Astronauts alike. I think the C4 paid homage to those particular buyers since it was just a thing back in the day.
Had to be!
The switches for oil temp ect do not show up on the small screen. The are on the gauge cluster. The small screen is where the check engine light brake light ect is.
Ah ok, thanks for letting me know
Great video! Tho just to say as a C4 owner the doors are fiberglass too
Love this video, and the soundtrack! Please share link of the music you used
