So fun fact, blade is actually mara struck, with kafka keeping his mind sane (somewhat). Imbibitor lunae and him used to be in the same group as jing yuan and jingliu. The black hair was from from the mara. And he wishes for his own funeral.
Funny fact is that blade is one of rhe calmest characters when his mara is in check (when he's mara struck his irises show a candle flame shape
Ok but so I gotta understand what does excatly being Mara struck means? Cuz all of the other mara struck soldiers… did they gain immortality? Well technically yes lmeo cuz when you kill them they revive once but for xianzhou people it looks like it means death anyway, or even worse, so how come blade is unkillable with mara and what does it mean keeping it in check
@@corrin-1976 if I understood correctly, basically every "long life species" on xian zhou live longer than average, like 300+ years, but somewhere down the line, they will become mara struck, because their brains can't handle it. I could be wrong though. Depends on the species too. The dragons who reincarnate, which Bailu belongs to, I don't think they can ever be mara struck...
@@corrin-1976 To put it simply humans in Star Rail have average life spans, as we get older we slowly degrade and die. For the long life species in the Xianzhou, due to their long lifespans they lose grip of their sanity as they live longer and at the end of them losing their sanity they turn into soldiers for Yaoshi the Abundance
Kafka keeps Blade in check by making sure he doesn't lose his grip of what remains of his sanity and turning as well. Because having someone as powerful as him turning into a soldier that never dies under Yaoshi is bad for everyone
@@corrin-1976 being mara struck is essentially overdosing on immortality so much that you go insane. Blade is essentially between a human and a mara struck rn and keeping it in check means reducing its stress and strain on blade or any other victims. Kafka uses her dominate effect to help with that

The candles are symbolic to life. You can see the candles flicker out whenever he slashes a guard. Also that end scene where the last candle that remains represents his own life. It is still on but he wishes to end. Maybe after "killing" dan heng, he seemed calm and ready for his flame to go.
Can't wait for how the story will unfold.
I thought the last candle was Dan heng’s cause he’s the only one who still must *pay a price*
@corrin-1976 I thought the same while writing the comment, but I remember he said: "... three must pay the price" - I don't recall him killing 2/3 people, so I don't think it is Dan Heng. Were the other two revealed?? I DON'T REMEMBER
The candle was also reflected in his eyes as if internal to himself. But of course I can be wrong 🙃
@@khalidaldossary301 I don’t think they were but it’s all hard to tell, it’s true blade was prisoner in the xianzhou so it could have been a present vision, but it could also have been just a dream dan heng did,so the other two people may have already been killed and he’s the last one remaining, which makes me also think about the part with white hair and only dan heng appearing, but it’s all so hard to understand oof we’ll have to see

The flame of candles means people's life. In the end of PV, blade has wiped out lots of flame but he could not wipe out the last one. Because he was cursed to be immortal.

It's mentioned in game that the horrible sin that got imbibitor lunae punished was "granting immortality to his beloved"... tell me, who is immortal and is royally pissed at dan heng?
This is probably why long lived species are discouraged from loving short lived species in lore, because blade was most likely short lived (based on his white hair in the trailer) and IL (a vidyadhara, extremely long lived) made a desperate move so he wouldn't die, going all the way to immortality
TLDR dan heng and blade are exes and blade is pissed about non consensual immortality

supposedly there is lore in game about Dan Heng having technically killed Blade several times. And it's possible Imbibitor Lunae cursed Blade with essentially immortality as punishment.
Edge Lords are just my must haves. If anyone plays League, Spirit Blossom Aphelios is my favorite skin in the game. I don't care if it takes 180 pulls. I will have him.
Dan Heng(when he was a Dragon) most likely was the reason he attained immortality against his will so he wants to kill him to probably try to break this immortality, meanwhile Dan Heng seems to be reborn and forgot everything about his previous life because thats what happens with Dragons in this world that they are just reborn constantly. So yeah Blade is not Edgy for the sake of Edgy but he is Edgy because he literally has Hatred that he wants to get out.
dan heng on this trailer isn't dan heng we know as trailbazer, he is imbibitor lunae. Dan heng was reincarnated from IL and doesn't has memory as IL anymore, but still maybe blade want to kill him idk lmao. i really curious what next happen.
I am pretty sure the candles represent the lives of the people he has killed, and when they blow out it means they are dead, because hoyo couldn’t show him actually killing people in the trailer.
And the candle in his eyes and the one at the end probably represents his own life, because he is immortal.

Anyways, he's edgy, I like edgy, but I already have Clara for destruction, and most enemies who are weak to wind are also weak to either physical+imaginary, or ice+fire, both combinations of which I have covered.
