The velour in these cars is amazing, my triple blue '87 is so comfy. It makes you feel in charge when you drive it, and you take the initiative to do the little repairs it needs along the way. Best daily driver ever.

1990 is the end of the century. It's a big Chevrolet. It wasn't even a motor from its own company. They were confused in this era. Don't let the borrowed 1972 to 1975 Body Lines fool you. I've had a bunch of these and they're real nice but they're not all that
@@johnbasil7882 : These were built better than comparable Chevy's. Their interiors were much higher quality and offered some features not available on Chevy's. The 5.7 V8 wasn't offered in civilian Chevy Caprice til 1994. I had an almost fully loaded 91 Caprice Classic so I'm a witness.
I never appreciated these cars in the 90's but now, wow so nice.
I love these Broughams. Wasn’t too crazy about them when they were new but they are so much nicer than the new cars of almost every make. One thing I wish they would have had is dual exhaust. On a cold day the smoke coming out both sides looks cooler...but that’s just me. I think another reason why I like these is they take me back to when I was a teenager and most of my grandparents were still here. Mine had Lincoln’s and I still remember the amazingly comfortable seats. My wife has a 2017 Merc and it rides like complete crap and not very comfortable. I think the 80’s Mercedes Benz’s were the last true ones. We can definitely say that about Cadillac. I can’t stand the new ones as far as looks. I’m a gen X’r and I hate all the new tech in vehicles. I long for the old days... for me the old days were around 1990, lol.

In the neighborhood that I grew up in, one of the neighbors had the same exact car and the only difference was that it had leather interior. They brought it new and still own it with 276,000 miles.

I would never again buy a car online - but I would buy a car from you! Your fine standards and full disclosure are exemplary, kudos to you. I didn’t get too badly stung on my online car purchase from a Florida classic car dealer - but it’s a crazy story. My opinion of most online sellers is that they do next to nothing except washing a car and taking less detailed photos and then after they fail to mention damage that is not visible on Internet pictures they simply says “you saw the pictures.” You sir are different, in the best way possible.

That antenna is what they call a passive repeater for cell phone use. It has no wires and is suppose to give your old cell phone a boost just thru the air and the car, no wires.
Worst thing about that antenna is it you're not careful taking it off you'll mess up a couple of defrost stripes.
Hopefully that won't be an issue for that car because it shouldn't be out in the cold.
My favorite is the early eldorado's my father had a 1983 parents and my grandparents had a 1985 the Ritz. I learned to drive on my father's eldo. And I love driving that car. I bought the last Eldorado they ever made in 2002 I bought an Alpine white Commemorative Edition I have number 10. I only have 6,200 miles on it it's in my garage with a cover on it that's my baby.

It’s really sad that many people now think these cars are “too old” “junk” and “only for old people” when in reality, they’re the icon of what the pinnacle of American Class and Luxury was for 50 years. It’s really a shame they don’t make them like this anymore. The ride and comfort in a big sedan like this can be offered by no other type of vehicle
@@zacharybrown7354 I agree. That's all I've heard too such as when I had Buick Park Avenue but haven't heard this since I've had my 2006 Town Car. I'll see young people still drive these & Lincoln Town Cars of all years. I've always loved luxury cars since my high school days in the 80's.

What's so hysterical is, at first I thought I knew the car. There is an exact twin with the same mileage range here in Orlando Florida. I frequently run into the old guy at the grocery store. It's a PURE TWIN right down to the mileage! Except his is rust free. That's the nice thing about a Florida car. I offered to buy his and he said he won't take less than 20,000. I was at 7,000. That's all these things are worth but that's just my opinion

Still a fantastic automobile for people with class! I have been a "Leather Snob" for my entire teenage to now years with these Cadillacs and GM luxury cars, but I'm gonna give velour a chance eventually! I love my daily driver quality 1990 Brougham D' Elegance 5.7V8, and it has leather seats in good shape still. (171k miles and ready for more!) I had a chance to buy a 1979 Coupe Deville D' Elegance with velour about 10 years ago and regret not buying it now! I didn't get excited because of the velour, mainly. I still remember a customer's blue 1992 Brougham D' Elegance with velour that came in for an oil change. I remember that car being crazy comfy! Although I also remember the gold Brougham D' Elegance with leather that came in also! I love these cars so much!

One of my cars is a 1984 Cadillac Fleetwood. I got rid of the weak 249 engine and I replaced it with a strong running 455 Buick engine and a TH 350 transmission. It's fun to drive and the only bad thing is the gas mileage. I'm getting about 8 or 9 miles to the gallon on the highway; city mileage is about 5 or 6.
My favorite shade for a car. I’m certain a Brougham d’Elegance will be in the running for my first pleasure car, or “purchase of the heart”. I’ll keep your number handy Anthony. 🍷

Very nice and it has the right engine. The rust will continue to grow. You are very honest in your descriptions. Doesn’t have any of the gaudy crap people like to stick on them. Should have leather BUT the cloth is wonderful too!

Love the color and the detailing on everything. It is nice to see that for a car that old everything works well. I love the dark maple color a very classy color inside as well. These are Cars. I got to Drive one of these that my Aunt had back in the day. OOHHH Man, Car drove Very Smooth, Very Quite, very comfortable ride that anyone can ask for in a Car.
Recent subscriber. Huge fan. Maine resident. Own an 83 Electra Limited 2d and 85 Toronado Caliente. As a previous 92 dark maple/silver as this is Brougham and maple “base” leather owner, does the cloth d’Elegance have a cloth wrapped reveal for the “premiere” rear door opera window inside??? It appears to be wrapped in headliner material on this unit? My car had a very apparent leather appearance this car does not seem to have that.
If I didn't have an 85 Riviera, I'd hop on this!

Now we're talking!! Other than the headlights having the plastic cover, but you can't beat the interior, they just don't build interiors like that anymore.
I sure would love to buy that Caddi from you Tony, and I will put some Cadillac Truespokes and Vogue tires, I will purchased the optional Gold emblem kit that comes with that burgundy color paint job. And the 5.7 Liter engine is also perfect motor..

These are the Cadillacs that I LOVE! I have no interest in 21st century cadi's. The designers forgot where they came from and what a Cadillac is supposed to look like. Such grace , style and, Beauty you will never find in a modern POS!

Being from Wisconsin, even the best cared for cars are rusty. Here in Arizona we have cars in JUNKYARDS from the 1940s and 1950s with less rust than this very well taken care of car has. On the other hand all the rubber, plastic, leather, vinyl and/or cloth are burnt to a crisp.

Sadly when these cars were discontinued in 1992 it got such bad stigma as grandpa's old car. Now over 25 years later, these are sought after classics. Now it is as if Cadillac threw up the middle finger at everyone when they discontinued these boats. Even though today it would never be allowed to be manufactured in its condition due to the lack of airbags, rearview camera as of 2018, and other mandatory safety features, you just get this feeling of nostalgia, like floating on the clouds, the immense comfort and smooth ride, that you will never see again in an American luxury car. These cars were not about touch screens galore, 0-60 times, multi angle view cameras, these cars were made for one and only one purpose: to make the wealthy owners who brought these new, feel like a King with much due respect.

What's the difference between normal and de elegance
GM has given up on these newer Cadillacs. They have no identity and cannot be distinguished from the rest of the lineup. This beauty of a Brougham is to sing🎤 for.
