Portland Electric Blower Vacuum Mulcher Review and Demonstration Fathers Day Gift

- Our review of the Portland Electric Blower Vacuum Mulcher starts with opening the box to show what is included. It included the blower motor, blower tube, 2 tubes for the vacuum / mulcher, and the owners manual.
Next we stress the importance of reading the manual including the warnings and safety sections.
The tube for the blower is very easy to install and snaps in place very securely. Install the electric cord and it is ready to start blowing leaves or whatever you need to blow off your porch, deck, driveway etc.
The vacuum tubes install on the bottom and mine were tight to snap into place but worked. The bagger installs where the blower tube installs and just snaps into place.
My final review in in the video with the good and the bad, so don't miss the end.

I bought a Toro Blower/vac about 10 years ago for $69.99. The motor finally burned out 2 weeks ago, I was going to buy another Toro but now they want $109.99 for the same unit! I decided to buy the Portland Blower/vac for $44.99 over this past weekend and I have to say I'm quite impressed with it! The Portland works just as good as my old Toro and at less than half the price!
I don't use mine a lot but it does work well. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.
@@DIYwithWayne I don't use mine very often either! I have a EGO blower for the summer, but I like to use a vacuum to finish up my yard in the fall to clean up the leafs my lawn mower won't suck up!
This is a great review video, it covered exactly the things i was wanting to know about the vacuum function of it. Thank you!
You are very welcome and thank you for visiting, have a great day.
Thank you. I love the video. I never can figure out what they trying to say in the booklets. Thanks again.
I always read the instructions and a lot of them make me laugh because they are SO POORLY written. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.
Thank you, Wayne!! I will purchase this!
Good luck with your purchase and have a great day.
A number of folks have found that the bag is not at all durable. It is the weakest point in this purchase! Plus trying to get a replacement bag is impossible. Some have gone to buying another blower just to get the bag. I OFFER A SOLUTIOn. 1. Buy a B&D replacement bag. 2. Remove the zip tie from the plastic head. Throw the B&D head away. It will not fit the Portland blower. 3. Remove the zip tie from the Portland blower head. Throw the bag away but keep the Portland plastic blower head. 4. Thread a new zip tie through the opening in the new B&D bag. Do not tighten it down and leave plenty of room to adjust the new bag with the older Portland plastic head. Be sure the bag strap is on top. 5. Now tighten the zip tie as tight as you can get it. Clip off the excess. Attach to the Portland 3 in 1 and begin to such and blow.
Time for removal and replacement is about 10 mins. Cost for new (and much better) bag. $13-$15.

@@DIYwithWayneMost welcome. I learn from you as you are authentic and smart. I'll be around.
Great review. I was concerned about it picking up rocks and messing up the impeller. I have decided to blow the leaves onto my driveway then pick itup from there. I think that reduces the chnces of picking up rocks. Its a decent unit, especially for the price.
Thank you for visiting and have a great day.
I have the one without the upgraded handle. To do a good job of mulching leaves must be dry. I abuse this machine and it has stood the test of time. Put a lot of twigs through it and the impeller is fine. Used mulcher mostly but ive used the blower feature and it worked fine.
That's great. You are the opposite of me, I use the blower the most. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.
Thanks for the helpful video.
Glad I could help. Thank you for the kind comment and for visiting, have a great day.

I just got a brand new one at a yard sale today and it blows pretty hard
That's great. It's always good to get a bargain. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.

love it thank you so much

I have one of these Portlands and I love it. However, I have never used the black bag before and had it stored in my garage cabinet. The other day I decided to use it and when I picked it up it disintegrated in a thousand pieces in my hands. wth?!?! 😮
Oh my, I have not had that problem. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.
is good to pick up leafs.?
It would depend on how many you had. If they are dry, it does good but capacity is small compared to a leaf vacuum for a mower. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.
Where can I get a replacement dust sponge for this Portland electric blower vacuum mulcher?
I would suggest you try here: www.harborfreight.com/parts. I have never ordered parts from them so I don't have any insight into how well they are in this area. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.
$45. Track members can get a free item today with a $39.99 purchase. One of the items is $25 ratcheting tie down set, so i think i am headed over there.
That's a good deal. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.
Wow, that vacuum is good, it sucked all the audio out of the right ear!!
Yep, I had a little audio trouble. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.
@@DIYwithWayne no problem, I appreciate the review!!!

I scoff, jeer, gibe, fleer, sneer, flout at manuals and safety warnings 😁
Some of them are a joke of sorts but I still recommend reading them because sometimes you will learn something that can make a difference. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.
Will it pick up and mulch pine needles ?
I did not try pine needles, but I suspect you would but disappointed with how much they get mulched. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.
Well it pick up wet leaf 🍃
Yes but not very well. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.

Thanks hood video 😂 can it pick up trash and leave
It can pick up dry leaves but I would not expect it to pick up trash without getting clogged quickly. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.
