The IOF recently claimed that their mission in Northern Gaza was "completed," stating they had "defeated Hamas." However, the reality on the ground is that Northern Gaza has been reduced to rubble with no civilians remaining, while Hamas's strongholds are still active. They continue to inflict damage on the IOF, taking down their tanks, M113s, and bulldozers by the dozen each week.

Great guest but when he mentions hospitals in Gaza “ all 36 of them “ it’s been said that actually only about 5 or 6 of those hospitals could be classed as real hospitals with emergency rooms and theatres , the rest are classed as either private hospitals with maybe one theatre or are just walk in clinics, these are statements from US doctors that have just recently returned from Gaza and this is the scenario if all hospitals were in working order

It's complicated, as is most of Lebanese politics.
Lebanon does have an official army but Hezbollah, who hold 10% of the seats in government, also hold a militia, a larger one than the official army especially as it didn't stand down in 2006 under the terms of UN 1701, mostly because ísrel didn't relinquish the Shebaa Farms.
The problem dates back to 1926 when the French creation of Lebanon separated the village from its fields, placing the village in Lebanon & the fields in Syria in the Golan Heights, which ísrel has occupied since the 1967 Six Days War. All the natives believe both the village & the fields belong in Lebanon.
Just to add a twist, the mountains above the village are where Abraham received his divine covenant in the Old Testament.

I'm a great fan of Jon Elmer, and I love his many insights. I'm not sure I agree with this present analysis although I hate to sound defeatist. It's obvious that Israel want to starve and kill the population north of the Netsarim Choridor into disappearence so they can recolonize it. Israel has a desperate need of space, and they love the sea access. If they completely surround Jabalya and subsequently other isolated areas and strangle the resistance with a large concentrated offensive, it could mean the end of the resistance. Whether they have the capacity to actually do this with everything going on, I'm not sure, but I'm, deeply worried about it.
Jon shouldn't be saying "IDF". It should be called "IOF" - Occupation Force
