- PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a group of man-made chemicals used in a wide variety of products because of their water and oil-repellent properties. They can be found in everything from firefighting foam to clothing and non-stick cookware. These chemicals have raised concerns because they can accumulate in the environment and human body, potentially leading to serious health issues like cancer.
On January 6th, residents of Deltona, Florida, and The Ferraro Law Firm voiced their concerns about elevated PFAS levels in the local water supply. In response, the City Commission held a vote on whether to have The Ferraro Law Firm represent the Deltona community in legal action to address the PFAS contamination. The commission voted unanimously (7-0) in favor of securing the firm’s services and committing to protecting the health and safety of their residents.
