Sam Burgess at Number 8 would have torn it up. The way the union old boys media treated him, after keeping Roberts quiet and going off when we were winning vs Wales, was a shameful disgrace. I have played and love both codes so I'm not biased. Cheika is spot on.
💯 agree okayed both codes still fucking about with union at 38 105kg and doing the bronco in 5.40 however not fit or strong enough anymore to play league.
I love watching Lebanon play. One of the best games in 2017 Rugby League World Cup was Lebanon Vs Tonga. Robbie Farrah got kicked out of the game last week Vs NZ. For dissension I believe. Love having cross codes chat.
Caleb Clarke would be absolutely unreal on attack in League. He already cuts and busts his way through union defence, imagine him in league with 2 less players and all that space to wind up. Kolbe would be unreal as well, just imagine the magic he could do with that extra space lmao sheeeesh
the defence and defenders in league are better. union players dont know how to tackle and lack the contact. sam burgess is a good example, billy vunipola was known as a wrecking ball but when he ran at burgess he got handled.
@@babycoke5671 I’m not saying that they’re better or worse at tackling. I’m talking about the extra space because league is 13 a side, which equals more space on the field.
There are doubtless lots of players in both codes who could swap but the professional life of a sportsman is short and neither code pays premier league football money so who is going to risk a couple of years with no guarantees on something which might not pay off?
League is big in Australia, but as a rugby fan I see the players at the top and just think, they deserve to be on the world stage. Folou and Koroibete are perfect examples of going from being one of the best players in Australia to becoming one of the best players in the world. ‘World famous’ is a thing they’ll never achieve in league.
Name me a ‘world famous’ RU player? RL & NRL is the pinnacle of ‘rugby’, guys know they make it there, they are the best, couldn’t care less about playing private school boys from a hand full of countries.
@@henrilamer5486 surely you jest, “pinnacle of rugby” bahaha Outside of a few suburbs in nsw and qld nobody knows or cares what league is. I’d be confident a player like Beauden Barrett is ‘famous’ in about 15 countries, there’s not a single league player who ever has been or ever will be that famous, unless of course they go on to play rugby like Williams, Folau or Koroibete. I like league, but don’t kid yourself, it’s nothing more than a glorified suburban comp, I wouldn’t be getting too excited about that pathetic excuse for a ‘world cup’ either where it’s Australia, one city in Nz, a couple of towns in northern England and every other team is made up of players not good enough for Australia.
Interesting take but look at AFL players who essentially have even less exposure than NRL players internationally, Australians seem to be able to fund their own leagues independent and are happy with an almost isolationist approach, plus state of origin in many peoples eyes would match the significance of playing for the wallabies.
Plus the NRL is the only real rugby competition where players are treated like celebrities in the region they play in, here in England you don’t really know anything about the England national team players compared to what you know about premier league footballers same for most other rugby nations, also other than the Top 14 no rugby comp can pay the money the NRL can
With time slammin' Sam would've have been as big a star in union as he was in league but the RFU paid a lot for him and threw him in with much hype before he was ready. He barely had a settled club position.

Absolutely Spot On!!!
It wasn't just Union old boys, Mike Ford with a big RL pedigree messed him around too.

We all saw how Radradra was in league, one of the greatest Wingers ever
Tuisova could be devastating in League.
Sam burgess could have been great for the England rugby Union side..I just think they missed out on an absolute machine on the pitch..but that’s life
I find it hard to believe....He tried and he was shit...

No Rugby League player has ever achieved the worldwide fame of a Jonah Lomu, Jonny Wilkinson or Dan Carter!

Sam Simmonds should play league.
