Great video. Full of useful clear understandable information. Great to have it explained in layman's terms rather than trade-speak. Really good content. Well done. Nice one. Thank you guys

Hi, very interesting and well explained.
About the service cable, is otfen wrapped in that greasy strip; is a way to know its amperage(maybe from external diameter?) . Thank you

      Good morning Elless317,
Unfortunately not, however the main fuse often has the amps written on it. Or you can phone your electrical supplier and they can confirm for you.
      Kind regards

Did you upgrade the main fuse yourself or get the DNO to do it?

      Good Afternoon Mike,
We got the DNO to upgrade the main fuse to 100amps.
      Kind regards

      @@Kemalustatv2 Hi AtheistProphet,
In this case the meter tails (main cut out to meter and meter to fusebox) were only 16mm2 and needed to be uprated 25mm2 to support 100 amps.
The DNO charged the client £170 to do this and fitted an isolation switch.
If the meter tails are a sufficient size for the relative amps, DNO's don't normally charge to uprate the fuse.
Please get in contact if you have any more questions

Spenergyworks want a long and complicated form filled out. I gave up, how is a normal person supposed to fill out that! I already have a pod point fitted so it’s not as if I can ask the fitter. I don’t even know who it was. It’s very silly. Now I just wait for the main fuse to blow then they do t have a choice but to come fit a bigger amp fuse.

Do i need landlord permission to do this ? Also my fuse box and meter are not in the same room. Is this a problem?

      @VartiaElectrics  9 місяців тому +1

Hi Leeroytrucks01, the landlord would need to grant permission and most likely have to make the call.
The meter not being in the same room does not cause any issues. Please be aware if the fuse is going to be uprated the meters tails may also need to be uprated.
      Kind regards
