Or, by funding a new abused children inquiry himself by donating £300M. Will he do that? Probably not. Bullying people and trying to shame them publicly in an attempt to force his suggestions on to them. Way to go!
They throw national treasure around so cheeply these days, but these two men are certainly up there. Just my opinion 😊
Refreshing clear thinking.
How terrible of Musk to criticise the Establishments cover up of the gangs. Listen to the victim accounts, the parents etc. Disgraceful.
Hislop v Musk is a debate I'd pay to see
Musk isn't dumb enough to try that.
@helveticaification he might just be
Love Ian Hislop.
Why doesnt Jess Phillips sue him for libel actually?
Libel needs to have been taken place first.
Vern Unsworth.

The Rotheram victim is probably calling for an inquiry because they haven’t seen any action & believe the one we had yielded no results.
That's why labour want local ones
One particularly vocal victim is calling for one, and she's pretty dense from looking at her twitter feed. The enquiries we've already had made around 22 recommendations, the previous government acted on none of them. They've got some brass neck calling for an enquiry now in some pathetically transparent attempt to prevent more haemorrhaging of support to reform and to curry favour with a bored billionaire. The current government are trying to implement those recommendations, further inquiries are not needed.
Brilliant video.
Would anyone's lives really be in any way worse if Twitter and Facebook didn't exist any more ? 🤔(Serious Question)
Starmer impressed me (for the first time) with his honest account of the child grooming investigations and speaking directly to the interference. More please.
Ian Hislop tells the truth no one in politics does. That is the real world.
All we've really learned is that these billionaires are immune to criticism. If we want to keep them in check then there's no sense trying to appeal to their morality, because they don't have any; we need caps on donations and more strict defamation laws for online conduct.
Private Eye subscription should be a must for everyone reading these comments. A wonderful publication.
Pretty sure both these guys are smarter than Musk...
Find Ben Shapiro's BBC News interview with Andrew Neil 😢
Buddy, most of the people in these comments are smarter than Musk, and that's not saying much 😅
@@danielx8 The bit where he accuses Neil of being a leftist slays me every time.
Dunning kruger.
How many of you in this comment section wrote the initial paypal code, or started the first electric car company, or built a spacecraft company?
Smarter than musk? Lol you guys are funny
Musk is the richest man on earth so no he isn’t
Thought part of taking back control was not listening to people from other countries?
Spot on
Brexiteer: sovereignty, tho
Also Brexiteer: yeah, a foreigner is sticking it to the lefties.
Thinking isn't your strong point then.
They meant rich people taking back control over poor people. Do keep up.
@@mrn8645 Yes but why does Elon Musk's opinion matter more than anyone elses? Being rich doesn't make his opinions any more worthy or valid does it?
Just think, if people hadn't voted Labour in, then we would still have a Tory government. How would that go down?
Are these two aware Phillip's used the same apologist phrase in a tweet to George Galloway. Why aren't either of them calling that out?
The government don't have to borrow money, they are the issuer of a sovereign currency.
Top journalism. Met Ian on the train when we lived in Britain, and love him for his pointedness and humour. Also really like Andrew Marr. News and Journalism is a mess and we are in troublesome times. Concerned we should be.
Musk says something. Waits for a response. Guages reaction. Reshapes narrative. Rinse and repeat.
Isn't musk saying the truth about the grooming groups ? . Why isn't govt doing anything?. Clear Muslim appeasement you don't see that?
I could actually listen to the two of them speak all day. There's a show here if LBC could put the relevant pieces together.
No morality.
Keir Starmer, yes. No morality.
It's Musk and Farage who have no morals.
Take it you have not watched or listened to the video.
It’s great to hear Hislop’s intelligent and articulate analysis.
Could we describe Musk as an X offender?
(I'll get my coat.)
Finally real journalism 👏🏽
Real lies
This isn't journalism, this is political commentary. Arguably bold and insightful commentary. But not really journalism. They're not conducting original investigations.

Can't they just close the loopholes in the current tax system rather than actually raising tax? The issue seems to be more about the rich simply avoiding taxes, not the rate being too low.
Finally a mainstream UK journalist who can effectively communicate the BS behind Musk's entire facade.
journalist?? Just another woke activist
Easy when they both think the same way and no one else there to push back at him
@@Mute040404 nope, a journalist who has run a magazine that has uncovered corruption and corporate greed for nearly 50 years. Just because you're triggered by what he says doesn't mean he's not a journalist.

Why are people talking about Musk, when the issue of what happened to so many young girls the issue at hand. This is the problem surely. It’s very worrying
It's a deflection tactic.
Because musk is also talking about it and is taken advantage of the situation
Because Musk is trying to stir up controversy, problem is he’s a massive hypocrite. Musk is trying to get Robinson onboard but a lot of Robinson’s EDL mates are in jail because they are “nonces”, Musk has also been associated with Ghislaine Maxwell.. it’s the right wing media trying to look like they care but they don’t, they are trying to score points.
Because its a scandal that went down 20 years ago and is only being dredged up again to fuel bigotry.
It’s been talked about, there are changes in law coming, Elon and the conservatives are trying to delay it, why?
Why does it always take Ian Hislop to speak both his mind and the truth?
Is there really no-one else in Britain who can speak as articulately, so enthusiastically and so intelligently?
Everyone should buy Private Eye.
I’ve an old friend who seems to hate Starmer and deny climate change and believe all the red tops. I’m going to buy him a sub to private eye without telling him.

Hislop is a national treasure. And as usual he’s right on point.
The fact Musk manages to devote so much time to tweeting every day makes you wonder whether he does any actual work.
So you can only do one thing a day.
Some of us can multi task..
When you've built empires, you can delegate to your employees which then gives you the luxury of time.
So the BBC isn't politicised? Eff off Hyslop you are a shop front!

No Empathy
No grim opportunism
Keir Starmer, Correct!
And this is why I subscribe to Private Eye.
It's incredible to me how this is the first ive heard of the scandal in what seems years. It seems brushed under the rug and it needed and needs dealing with.

Have you been watching the news consistently for the last few years?

Well said Hislop!!
Thank the World of Satire & Common Sense Ian Hislop
Ian and Andrew are very entertaining. Great watch.
Twitter... uninstall.
Problem solved.
Has LBC or private eye watched Silenced? Boo woo Marr and Hislop not being listened to anymore.
Hislop fails to understand that ‘mainstream’ media is no longer mainstream but legacy. Few young people read or watch legacy media anymore. Their days are numbered.
So true.
Probably true, but many friends of mine, not young, swallow and regurgitate the bias that mainstream media put out there. Most don't have the thinking power, the time, or the inclination to investigate issues for themselves. It's not easy.
We dont deserve Ian Hislop. National treasure
The Trump Musk love in can't last. There's only room for one massive ego at the top of US politics.
Musk has lost all credibility and is behaving like a spoilt adolescent brat. Perhaps he should go back to playing with his cars and rockets and leave the important stuff to the grown ups.
Bought twitter to sound off with his brain farts. 'Space Karen' as some UA-camrs call him.
