I discovered an easy way to open the new iPhones 12-14. All you need is a suction cup and heatgun. You just prep the bottom area with some heat for 5-8 seconds. Then put suction cup at very bottom edge and start pulling with firm steady pressure and HOLD the pulling, for about a minute until you see the lcd gap open. Once you see the gap, you use sesame blade to open the rest.

how much power do you add to a circuit line? and can it be the same amount of power to any circuit that you find a short on?

@@rickmucci4785 You might have a short on some nand line or somewhere else.
If it is under warranty go to Apple ( i hope you have some backup on icloud or on your pc ) - they will give you another phone.
If not, go to a repair shop that do microsoldering ( all will say that they do microsoldering - look on reviews ). Where are you from? Maybe i can recommend you some repair shops!
      Have a nice day.

@@PhoneRepairRO Thank you so much. No warranty, just heard that since they had problems with these things that they might do the work for free as a recall or some but I think it won't happen in this life time 🤷 Montreal,Canada. Can it be a capacitor?

    • @PhoneRepairRO
      @PhoneRepairRO  3 місяці тому +1

@@rickmucci4785 If they don't have a recall program, not a chance!
It's a 50/50 the thing with the capacitor, but you say that is overheating - that means the phone try to power up till a point - there are some power lines that come on after you press the power button / or you promt to boot with the charger - so it might be a short somewhere.
You can send your phone here www.ststele.com/contact-us/ , the shop is in Sarasota / Florida / US (much closer to you than Europe / Romania).
Jason is a guru in this industry, is the guy that made Apple to recall all iphone 6 / 6+ that had "touch disease".

Not always. This one was on main power rail VDD_MAIN. There are alot of other capacitors on this line!

@@PhoneRepairRO thank you for your response. I have a few questions if you don’t mind me asking. I have a 12 Pro Max that was boot looping due to storage full, I tried to restore or update, fix flash on 3u tools, I unplugged everything on motherboard except battery, lighting port, and power button, nothing gets it working. Now computer sometimes reads the phone in dfu mode and most of the time there is a usb error saying it doesn’t recognize device, the phone takes a charge at 0.438 amps but nothing showing up on screen, have you dealt with this before? what could it be? Also at 3:41 I see you are checking from the battery point J10000 to another ground point on the upper motherboard and say there is no short anymore, how is the short gone when you are reading from a ground point from battery connector to another ground point on the motherboard? Also, what points on the motherboard do you apply power to see if something is short circuiting without shorting anything else? Is it power and ground in a certain circuit? The circuit lights up where powers and ground is for a particular component in Wuxinji program, sorry for the long comment and questions but I’m just trying to understand, thank you.

@@ThatDIYguy862 Noo, at min 3:41 i just read the resistance of my multimeter leads, then if you look till min 4:00 you will see that i measured on the + terminal ( i know, the text on the screen is a bit off - i will start to make videos with voice in future ).
I normaly apply voltage / current only on vdd main, but never on battery conector ( on 12 / pm vdd_main is conected to battery connector with a .0025ohms that might blow up ).
Wuxinji and other programs lights up all components that are conected to a certain line ( ex vdd_main, pp1v2 and so on ). To find where is vdd_main you go close to PMIC and there will be lots of capacitors conected to vdd_main - never go up with amps!
Regarding your problem, the phone now is in dfu. Have you put the motherboard in another known good case? This will be the first step!
      Have a nice day!

@@PhoneRepairRO What should the resistance value be when connecting one lead to number and the other to number 4 of connector J10000 (battery connector)? Power pin to ground pin is what it that is. I am getting a resistance reading but I am not getting a continuity reading on it. And do you have any idea what on the J11200 connector circuit would case a short or something so that computer cannot read the phone?

@@PhoneRepairRO I also found another weird thing, after I freeze the phone in freezer for 5-10 minutes, the computer start to read it again, when it warms up, it doesnt work anymore again, you think something is shorting it?
